The Date.

Third person’s POV.

They got down from the car and went inside the temple. It was first sunday after their marraige. Both of them had holiday today.

They had planned this amazing day out to spend the whole day in each other’s company. Their first stop was the temple.

Naira handed over the puja items like coconut and flowers to the pandit jii. The pandit jii broke the coconut and saw that there was a small jasmine flower in it.

“This is really auspicious. A flower in a coconut ensures that the husband loves his wife to eternity. You are really lucky to get such an amazing husband. For this immense fortune of yours, Why don’t you yourself sing the Aarti today.” The pandit jii said.

Naira looked at Karthik who nodded. She smiled and took the plate from the Pandit jii. Karthik joined her and they began performing the Aarti together while Naira sang it.

Me aarti teri gau,
O keshav kunj bihari.
Me nit nit sheesh navau,
Oh Mohan Krishan murari.
Main nit nit sheesh navau,
Oh Mohan Krishan murari,
Hai teri chabi anokhi ,
Aisi na duji dekhi,
Tujh sa naa Sundar koi,

Jo aaye sharan Tihari,
Vipdaa mit jaaye saari,
Ham sab par kripa rakhna,
O jagat ke Palanhaari,
Main arati teri gaau.
Mein neet neet sish namaau,
Oh Mohan Krishna Murari.

Karthik gazed at her in surprise. This was the first time he had heard her sing. He hadn’t even known she had such a cuckoo like voice, So sweet and soft, Yet so rich that it made you so entranced in her singing.

They finished the Aarti. Naira and Karthik folded their hands and prayed, Naira closing her eyes. Karthik stared at her throughout the time she prayed. He had fallen in love with her once again, if that was even possible.

She finally opened her eyes and folded her hands one last time. They received blessings from the Pandit Ji who assured them that they would be together for seven lifetimes and would love each other forever. They just smiled and accepted the blessings cheerfully.

They came out of the temple and started off, in their car to their next stop. When suddenly Karthik stopped the car. He turned off the engine and looked towards her. She looked back at him confused.

Karthik placed his mouth on hers and all of Naira’s sense and sensibility went flying out of the window. At that moment, she didn’t care about anything, except for the fact that she was being cherished and loved in a manner that no one else, No one other than her husband could.

They finally released each other, as they needed air to breathe. The air in the car had suddenly grown a thousand fold. Naira gazed into the mirror and saw her hair, all messed up, Her dupatta and salwar all wrinkled and her lips, all puckered up. She looked like a woman who had been soundly kissed. She blushed crimson thinking of their kiss.

“What was that for ?!!” She asked him looking completely taken aback.

“Just to remind you that I love you.” he answered rubbing the back of his head.

He smiled sheepishly at her and Naira couldn’t help but grin at him. They were this madly in love couple who had never been intimate with each other before marraige.

But since they were married now, they have received a license of doing all the hanky – panky things. All this romance was getting to their heads and they wouldn’t leave a chance to kiss each other.

Still both of them blushed as if they were some teenagers and every kiss was their first one.

Later on Karthik drove them to a beautiful restaurant where they had a candle light dinner. Naira ordered the dinner as she had a better choice in food as compared to him.

They had their dinner in the dim glow of the candles and it couldn’t have been more entrancing and beautiful. Both of them just stared at each other and thought how lucky they were to have each other.

After they had almost hogged till they were full, they left the hotel and drove towards their home. On their way to home Naira saw a small tea stall and she asked Karthik to stop. They got out of the car and walked towards the stall.

Karthik ordered the masala chai for them while Naira sat on the little benches that were kept for the customers to sit down. He joined her and held her hand in both of his.

“Why do you love me ?!!” Naira asked.

Karthik looked at her completely stumped. She had asked the question out of the blue without any relevance to the situation.

“I am not physically attractive unlike other girls. Infact I am fat. I have always wanted to know why do you love me ?!!” She asked further.

“I love you for what you are. Not for how you look. I love your confidence ,the way that you carry yourself. I don’t believe in looks as I know I am not some Shah Rukh khan myself. You are beautiful for me, Naira . Doesn’t matter what people think.” He answered.

“This confidence has been inspired from you. You are my source of strength. I know that till you are by my side, nothing will go wrong. But even if it goes wrong, you would make it right.” She said and pecked him on the cheek.

They had their smoking hot masala chai, their hands entwined together. They nedded each other and they had each other. They required nothing else now.

I know this was not the kind of date that all of you were expecting but then I wanted to write something different from the typical dates. Hope you all liked it.

So two more shots and then I would be ending this story. The next Chapter will be a sort of a roller coaster ride.
