Chapter 22
When the past unfolds !!
The next night Karthik and Naira were just lying in the bed. When Karthik decided it was the correct time to let her know of his past.
“Her name is Gayatri.” Karthik said.
Naira’s heart skipped a beat. Finally, he is saying and she didn’t want to destroy the moment.
“After Keerti eloped, papa was all furious. Every member of the family went into depression and it is at that time, I met her. In my college.” Karthik started saying.
His voice is so deep and warm for which the ice around Naira’s heart started melting.
“I confessed to her in a perfect filmy way. We both roamed the whole city.” He added.
For some reason, someone being in place of her pained Naira.
“We enjoyed our relationship phase until a day came when I needed to inform papa. I still remember that day, I was so nervous to tell him but I finally did it. To my surprise, he accepted. Gayu’s parents too hold a high place in business. Only God knows how happy I was then. Everything went smooth till the day before my wedding.” Karthik inhaled a deep breath of pain and placed his hands on the back of his neck.
“It was around 3:00am early morning, she called me and said that she don’t want to be in this relationship.”Karthik confessed.
“What ?!!” Naira asked shocked. How could gayu cancel the marraige at last stage.
“Yes, she said she didn’t want to marry me just few hours before our marriage. I convinced her but she didn’t budge. I thought some bad memories came to her and she will be alright but after an hour, she called my parents informing the same thing and after that she switched off her mobile. Shantanu bhai and Vrushika bhabhi went to her house and God knows what they said but she called me and was ready to get married. I jumped in joy and became ready for marriage in her favourite color sherwani. She was looking like an angel that day.” Karthik remininced that day.
Naira again felt bad listening to her husband praising some other women but she brushed it off.
“We were married and I promised myself to keep her happy always like every other person who will be in love but least I knew it would be my last smile. That night, I entered this very room with many hopes, but do you know what did she give me as our marriage gift ?!!” Karthik asked. His voice is dry and broken.
“Divorce papers ?!!” Naira asked.
Karthik simply smiled and nodded his head in no.
“She slapped me, hard and said that she was not at all interested in marriage but agreed because of her father.” he said.
“What happened that made her leave you ?!!” Naira asked further.
“It was in my destiny Naira. She didn’t talk to me for the next three days but I somehow convinced her and everything was slowly falling into its place. After a month, she started acting weird. She used to argue with other members of family unnecessarily and in a heat of moment I slapped her one day. That shattered my life. She gave me divorce papers the next day and left.” He paused sighing heavily.
“I went to her house to console and convince her but she said that she never wanted to marry me. It was her father who convinced her, saying that their pride may be blamed if she stops marriage, so he advised her to get divorced within six months after getting married.” Karthik said.
Naira’s mouth opened wide. Even these type of girls, live in society which she is unaware of.
“Why did you sign divorce papers if you loved her so much ?!!” Naira asked.
Karthik took a deep breath and said, “I didn’t sign. I really didn’t want to divorce her. I didn’t sign the papers but one day, she apologized me and betrayed me in name of love. I signed the papers thinking it to be some business contract. I might have forgiven her, but she betrayed me and worst part, she is now dating my close friend.”
“Calm down Karthik, please.” Naira said, soothing his arm.

I know this Chapter is not exactly like the precap mentioned in the last Chapter. Its because I forgot the plot I wanted to write then. So I request all of you to please adjust.
Also there would be some loop holes in the upcoming Chapters as I am almost writing the story with a new vision. Hope you all support me.
