Chapter 2
The helplessness !!

Akshara reached her room and started sobbing as she really didn’t want to hurt Naira. She knew, what was going on with Naira was wrong but if she uses soothing words, her daughter would never agree for this marriage. She clamped her hands on her mouth to stop herself from sobbing when she heard Naithik entering the room.

“Akshara, please stop crying. Its our daughters marriage tomorrow. You should be happy for her.” Naithik said keeping a hand on her shoulder.

“So you have started caring for your daughter now ?!!” She asked angrily and shoved his hand away from her shoulder.

Naitik’s expression showed that he was annoyed by her question but after seeing her daughter’s tears, Akshara became more determined and wanted to try her best for the last time to make things fine.

“Why don’t you think about this marriage once again ?!!” She pleaded him through her eyes.

“Akshara, please don’t make me angry now. Please sleep. It’s already late and we must get up early in the morning. Lots of wedding preparations need to be done.” Naithik said.

“That’s not an answer to my question.” She argued further.

“She is my daughter as well and I know what I am doing.” Naithik said, his voice clearly showing his lack of patience at the moment.

“I have already lost a son. I cant bear loosing my daughter as well.” She said defeated.

“Naira is a strong girl. She will learn to adjust.” He answered. The lines on Akshara’s forehead head turned into frown.

“She will learn to adjust ?!! How can you say that so easily ?!! You might have forgotten that she is your princess but I still remember that she is my daughter and I can’t let you ruin her life, like you did with Naksh.” She said sobbing lightly now.

She loved her husband very much and it pained her heart to talk like that with him. But she needed to stand for her daughter now, otherwise she would regret it for her whole life.

“Enough, Akshara.” He shouted defeatedly, his voice was almost equal to a lion roar and his eyes burned in anger. But his body language stated that he was tired and emotionally drained.

“Naira must get married to Karthik not because I made the decision but was bound by a promise. So end the discussion here and please let me sleep.” He said and walked to his side of bed, laid down and switched off the bedside lamp.

Silent tears flowed down akshara’s eyes showing her helplessness. She knew that her daughter’s life is going to drown yet she wasn’t able to save her. She laid down on her back next to Naithik and tried to sleep but that night was meant to be a sleepless for her.

Sorry for making you all wait for this Chapter. I was a bit busy with my accademics and so would not be able to post fast updates like earlier for the next month or so.
