Chapter 75
The Engagement !!

“Naira, This is Gayatri Deora. My Ex-girlfriend. She heard that I was going to be engaged tonight and decided to show herself. Wasn’t that nice of her ?!!” Karthik said.

Naira continued to glare at him unamused, then gave a tight smile to Gayatri.

“Hi Gayatri !! Thanks for coming to Karthik’s and my engagement today.” Naira said.

Karthik looked thrilled at Naira’s obvious jealousy while Gayatri smiled at her amused.

“Hey Naira !! It is nice to meet you. It feels so good to be with the best boyfriend ever.” Gayu said.

She slowly put an arm around Karthik, making Naira even more mad. They started conversing again reminiscing old times while Naira stood there feeling like an outsider. She wanted to shout at him, and ask him why he was behaving like this, when it suddenly struck her.

“ OF COURSE !!! He must be doing this to make me jealous and so that I will talk to him. Yes. This must be it.” Naira thought to herself.

Karthik came and stood next to her interrupting her thought process.

“Are you still not talking to me ?!! Actually, I don’t care anymore. My doll has come. I will enjoy my time with her without listening to you. When it is time to exchange the rings, call me. Until then, Don’t disturb me.” He winked at her suggestively and her mouth fell open. Karthik was so screwed today.

She just stood there scowling at him. Gayatri came there after talking to a friend of hers.

“Oh Baby !! Come on.We have to catch up on many things. Let’s go.” Gayatri said and hugged karthik from behind.

They walked towards a corner, hand in hand leaving a fuming and speechless Naira. Suddenly Naira felt like crying. She had had enough of this challenge and all she wanted to do was curl up in his arms and talk to him. Gayatri looked at her sympathetically.

“Bye Naira.” Karthik said.

Naira said nothing, but stepped in front of Karthik and stomped on his foot hard. She smiled sweetly at him as he winced in pain and then walked away, her head held high. Karthik watched her as she went from the hall to the little balcony that was present outside.

He thanked Gayatri for her help and entered the balcony to find Naira leaning against the railing, looking at the starry sky. He paused near the door unsure of what to do next.

“I know you are there.Come on in.” Naira said without actually turning back.

He came and stood next to her. She turned to look at him and he was shocked seeing the vulnerability in her eyes. It made him wince in guilt. He had caused this. He had hurt her when he had made a promise that he wouldn’t anymore.

“You win !! I will talk to you. I just wanted to play and have some fun. But if it means that I should see you with some other girl, I cannot bear it. You win Karthik !! I’ll talk to you but I can’t stand you flirting with anyone.” She said and turned away as silent tears fell from her eyes.

He was heart broken to see his Babe crying in front of him and wiped her tears.

“ I’m sorry !! I didn’t mean to hurt you. Gayatri is an old friend. Only friend and no Ex- Girlfriend. That’s why I asked her to assist me. I admit, I tried to make you jealous because I wanted you to talk to me. But I never wanted you to cry. I didn’t want you to feel so bad. I am sorry Naira. If you want, Please punish me. But don’t stop talking to me. I really really want you to talk to me. It doesn’t make my day complete unless I don’t have a verbal fight with you on the silliest of things.” Karthik said.

Naira raised her eyes to look at him. Then with a sigh of relief, She fell into his arms and hugged him tightly . He kissed the top of her forehead and held her close to him. Finally Naira and Karthik rushed inside the hall embarrassed that they were missing out on their own engagement.

As they got inside, they saw that Shivay had already reached and was talking to everyone else. Well shivay was Anika’s boyfriend. They had been in a relationship for almost two years now and were soon to be married. He had some important work to finish off and thus he was late for the function.

“Well, It is nice to finally meet you Shivay !!” Karthik said as he side hugged his future brother in law.

“It is so nice to meet you all as well. Anika has told me so much about all of you. I am so sorry I couldn’t come before.” Shivay said.

“No problem. And why are we talking so formally ?!! You are also a part of the family now.” Naira said smiling at him.

Shivay blushed slightly and smiled, looking at Anika.

“We will start the ring ceremony now.” Keerti said and moved Karthik and Naira to the centre of the hall.

The lights were dimmed and a spotlight was fixed on the couple.

“Naira, First you make him wear the ring.” Keerti said again.

Naira smiled, nodded and made him wear the ring that they had chosen before for their engagement. The memories of that shopping trip with Aaryan came flooding back to her mind. Everyone clapped and congratulated them.

Then Karthik took Naira’s hand and made her wear the ring. Everyone once again burst out in applause. Now, both of them were engaged. It was the first step of promising to stay together forever, no matter what hardships they may face. They looked at each other, their eyes conveying their silent promise. Then they took everyone’s blessings and hugged their siblings and friends.

“So now you are officially bounded to me. Inseparable we are.” Karthik whispered into Naira’s ears.

“Yeah. For forever.” She whispered back and hugged him tightly.

75th Chapter !!
Another Milestone.
All thanks to you peeps.

Well the next Chapter will have the mehendi of Naira and just like it happened in the show, Karthik won’t be allowed to take part in the function. Its a ladies mehendi.

Also the final countdown of the FF has began. 5 more Chapters to go. Will probably end it on Chapter 80. So I request Everyone to comment on these last Chapters.
