Kaira : Jab Karthik Met Naira by Vrushy (Chapter 2)

Chapter 2

Naira stood leaning on the railing of the balcony of her hotel suite. She looked at the distance where the sun was setting down and leaving red and pink hues behind. The sea below reflected all the colours that the sky was filled in.

She was lucky enough to check into the last room available on this sea facing resort. After all she was sad and lonely, only the serene beauty of the nature could heal the pain her heart had suffered.

Being in a profession where speaking truth was the last option, it left her soul shattered and lying in a pool of guilt after every mission. It was not her choice to do this for a living but then she had no other option.

She had even hidden her professional life from her mumma, Akshara Singhania. Naira knew that never in the world could the most truthful person accept the fact that her daughter was a thief. A high end thief who was know for her work across all the seven oceans.

Naira stole ancient artifacts and helped the retailers to trade them in black. It earned her good money and would suffice all her needs. On the top of it, she loved her job. It provided the zeal, adventure and risk, which was what Naira always loved.

Her family, which now consisted of her mumma and her half brother, Naksh were unknown to what she did to earn a living. Her dad, Naitik Singhania died of a heart attack when she was merely 10 and Naksh 15. Her dad’s first wife had died of cancer leaving a young Naksh mother-less.

Her mumma and dad were college buddies and met at a college reunion a year after Naksh’s mother’s death. Her mumma was single then and they slowly fell in love after meeting each other more frequently, only to get married. Then Naira was born. She was always close to her mumma and dad but Naksh always maintained his distance from her.

This week she had stolen “The Indus Dancing Girl”, from the Ajanta and Alora caves. It was a bronze statue which was a significant structure of the Mohenjo-Daro and it yielded her about 67 lacs. This was her seventh mission in the last three months and so she had decided to take a break now.

So here she had landed in Goa. The party capital of India where she was going to let her hair down and have the most of her free time. She planned on shopping, relaxing, partying, getting drunk and then sleeping till she got her virtue back.

As the evening drowned in and the night set its black magic, Naira decided to dress up for the party that was going on at the pub of the hotel. She seldom got a chance to put on makeup and heels so she didn’t want to let go off this opportunity. She got out her best party dress and got ready.

As she looked at her reflection in the mirror after half an hour, she couldn’t almost recognize herself. The girl who always wore boots, a cap and black leathered clothes to hide her identity looks beautiful in a night gown and some make up.

With a motto to have fun, she headed out of her room and went to the party arena.

Little did she know, that she was about to meet her Knight in shining armor.
