KAHI UNKAHI – Episode 4 “U & Me not Us”

Dev looks on…Sonakshi who he considers to be his patient….. just admitted that the room of nutritionist of the hospital is hers…
Dev: This is that nutritionist’s room….why you said it is yours….
Sonakshi: I…..
Dev: Srishti…answer me….

Sonakshi(In her mind): ab mein kya kahun….pehli baar sach bola aur ab soch rhi hun ki kyun bola(what should I do now…I said truth for the first time…and now I think…why I said that)…Satakshi where are you…..save me !

Dev: You ohk…..you are sweating……
Sonakshi: I am…..ok…
He holds her shoulder and make her sit in the doctor’s chair….and takes her wrist to sense the pulses…..that were very high….
Dev: ….let me check your pulse rate……
Dev bows down….to enquire everything well….He was close…not very close…but that was new for the lady sitting in chair….
He takes out his stethoscope…..and puts other end on her chest….
Dev: Your heart beats very fast…..
Sonakshi(in her mind): does it actually beat….i thought it stopped….i really felt like I missed few beats…
Dev: you are ok now….??
And there she comes back to the reality…..He cares her as she is his patient…but at least he cares…..
Dev: This Dr. Sonakshi is…. Damn careless !!
Sonakshi gets up from the chair all fuming…its about her after all…
Sonakshi: She is not….
Dev: you are defending her…..why?…..
Sonakshi had no answer for that….why a patient defends her doctor….but in her case……it is all different….because they are same person…one person !

Dev looks on the table and there was her card lying….
Dev: So here is her card…let me call…I have to meet her….

Sonakshi thought if he called….and the phone ranged….and ranged from her bag….
Actually who knows that’s her bag….who cares…go go call….
Dev calls…phone rings and he comes to know that the careless person left her phone in cabin….

Dr. Sinha peeps on…..
Dr. Sinha: Hey Doctors…
They both get straight to their places….comfort to professional…
Dev(thinks): Doctors???…..who else….grammatical mistake…
Dr. Sinha: So finally you guys met…..
Dev: yah ! we met…..
…..and he was happy to know a brave girl….

Sonakshi realizes this is high time…the secret can pop out any time…I should leave…
Sonakshi: I think I should leave…..I have something important to do….
Dev: what…..?
Sonakshi: tests….reports…I have to collect them….
And she rushes out….before anybody questions….and she don’t know what to say….

Dev is sitting in his cabin…and going through the reports of srishti…right now she has become her most important patient….Sonakshi on the other hand decides to burst out everything to him…what true and whats not…
She just enters Dev’s room without any knock and permission…as she thought any more interference of outside world will divert her from the reality check !

Dev’s room was really windy…AC, Cooler ducts and the fan……papers were flying here and there…and he was disturbed with this…
Dev: What is this…I have to talk to hospital management….these windows need to be closed….and he really couldn’t manage….
Sonakshi just puts a paper weight on the flying papers…everything got managed…
Dev looks up…..at intelligent lady….and she gave me huh ! look
Sonakshi: everytime…you don’t need to be….grand !…things can be managed…if you look from the other way…
Dev gets up from the chair…Sonakshi moves on to sit on the sofa…kept in his room…She actual forgot why she was there…
Dev: managed so well….
And he smiles at her innocence…
Dev too sits with her on the sofa….
Sonakshi: sometimes it is better to look from the other side….
Dev: I don’t know the other side….I do what my mind finds correct…
Sonakshi: what….you are tragic case…
Dev: how..??
Sonakshi: a cardiologist…specialist of heart doesn’t follow his heart….
Dev: heart….follow what…???
Sonakshi gets up…..with a shocked look as she asked him 2+2 and he answered 22
Sonakshi: doctor…doctor bulaun kya…? (doctor….should i call a doctor?)…..You need to be treated from a heart specialist….who knows heart….
And she makes the shape of heart from her friends….
Sonakshi leaves the cabin…while laughter echoed even after that….the room that was known for pin drop silence

Dev reached his mammi’s house….
Mama: Acha hua tu aa gya….warna mein aane wala tha…(Its good that you came…otherwise.. I was coming)
Dev: kaam bahut tha….aate hi busy ho gya…(there was lot of work…I was busy)
Mama: kaam bhi toh aisa hai….na din ka hosh na raat ka….(your work is like this only…you don’t have calm nor days neither in nights)
Mami enters with a tray having cups for tea and biscuits in other plate…
Mami: waise paise kitne milte hain…..(how much they pay you…)
Mama: ahem !….khana wagarah sab manage toh ho rha hai na…?.(ahem !…well fooding etc. is managed or not?)
Dev: hain mamaji don’t worry !!
Mami: ab garreb ki beti kya kahe……waise toh tumhe koi zarurat nhi pdegi par….ho toh btana…..(what should gkb say….you won’t need thing but still if you do….tell us)
Dev nods and take his cup of tea…..

Dev is returning from the house of his mama and mami….
The car stops at the signal…he comes out to return those tiffins he had…those pigeons of love in modern world….He places them from where they got them….And went back to stand near a pole to check who comes to pick them up….That small girl comes and picks them up….in her small hand…couldn’t take the things well but she tried…
And Dev starts leaving….as he couldn’t she mystery girl !

There he finds Sonakshi at a flower shop….
Sonakshi: These flowers are so pretty…..
Dev comes from behind…
Dev: not more than you…..
Sonakshi looks back and there he is….into his eyes….his smile….all said she is different when he is around her…
Dev: you here….hospital wale aane dete hain??(hospital people allow you?)…
Sonakshi had no answer….as she never have….
Dev: oh ! part of your “being normal”
Sonakshi: hmmm…
Sonakshi was loving the attention dev was giving her….but she never looked completely into moment because that secret haunted her….and he considered it her illness…

Dev looked to the flowers and then at her…with his magic eyes …..
Sonakshi: I you fliriting…
Dev: not really….but I can try….if I am allowed to….
Sonakshi laughs…because he knew nothing about the flowers he wanted to shower on her…flirting-slirting !!

Dev’s phone rings…He talks over it…while standing there…
Dev’s tone change…Will you come with me…?…
Sonakshi: Where…?
Dev: Don’t worry…I won’t put you at harm…
Sonakshi sense that things are vigorously changed….

Dev without knowing his answer pulls her…into his car…in no minutes they reach the hospital…Sonakshi just can’t figure out what’s happening…
Dev takes her to the OT…with same force….

He gets inside…and ask her to wait till he returns…
Sonakshi was in huge confusion…even her own working place looked all alien to her….nurses, ward boys and doctors are running in OT…Dev is inside for 2 hours….And there he comes out with red eyes…

Sonakshi: what happened…I am waiting from hours….
Dev: Oh I forgot !….you must be tired…sit sit….
Dev’s tone was not concerning one but the sarcastic one…
Dev: Sit down…Dr. Bose !
Sonakshi was at fault….and now she’s caught !
Dev: this is who you are….A lier…you know who is inside….Srishti…the real one….Was it a joke….in these days I had to treat her….her condition worsen to the final stage….just because of you….You are not pretty but a ugly doctor….you can’t take her duties seriously…
Sonakshi: I know…It was a mistake….but you can’t blame for being bad doctor….
Dev: You are fired..!!!!!
Sonakshi : you can’t to do this…who are you..?
Dev: one among the board members and your senior….is it enough !… Don’t show me your face from tomorrow…
