CHAPTER 16
Meghna was really happy that Kartik had agreed to take up Abhi’s case. Waiting in the room now has filled her with new hope. She called Josphine and give her the happy news.
Meghna: Hello!!! Jo Kartik agreed…. (Jumping with joy)
Josphine: What…? Are you sure. (Her eyes nearly came out of her socket)
Meghna: Yes Jo he agreed.
Josphine: But how…. He didn’t say anything…… He really agreed? You are not joking right?
Meghna: Yes you mad, he did agree. And do you think I will joke in such matters?
Josphine: Ya but with your history I really didn’t think he would have agreed…..
Meghna: Ya I also took some time to get it. But the bottom line is that he agreed. Our Abhi has still hope left……
Josphine: Yes…. You made it possible…… You again proved that you are his real mother….. And you can fight with even God’s decision if it’s for Abhi
Meghna: It’s nothing like that Jo. I just did what a mother would have done for her child, nothing out of ordinary…
Josphine: Ya but at that point when his birth mother did all was just to cry and stop you….
Meghna: Come on Jo what you did for me was beyond any woman…… You let me give your child my name….. For world I am his mother….. Being his real mother you were always in shadow….. All his life decisions were taken by me…… You shared your child with me that’s worth a thousand sacrifices…..
Josphine: Come on let’s not get over dramatic. But listen he just agreed like that…. No offence but I still cannot believe…. Sorry.
Meghna: Ya he said he has some conditions…..
Josphine: What are they?
Meghna: I don’t know but I agreed to all of them.
Josphine: But Meghu you should just asked what they are.
Meghna: I really don’t care what are they Jo. All I care is that he agreed. Whatever be the cost I am ready to bear, Isn’t it.
Josphine: Ya I too agree. Tell me when he tells them. And listen whatever it is I am there for you. In all your decisions good or bad.
Meghna: I know Jo, and that’s what gives me strength.
Josphine: Bye than, take care.
Meghna: I am fine look after Abhi.
Josphine: Bye nautanki…..
Meanwhile in Chennai…..
Dev was really what he was going to do. He had asked for a meeting with Tammana but for first time in his life he did not have a game plan, Dev Mehra was going into a client without any preparation at all. All he knew about was he was going to meet his Tammana after a long gap of four years, and that’s what mattered the most. He never in his life felt so nervous the meeting tomorrow took his memory to another meeting when he first met Tammana for first time…..
DEV’S POV
I was at my Lonavala farmhouse when I first saw her. My best friend Romit’s engagement was going on at that place. He was getting engaged to his school time sweetheart Richa Ghoul, who was also in our same college though our junior. They were all enjoying the pool party when she arrived, she was looking divine in her ivory top and knee length skirt, though she was a bit overdressed for a pool party, but still she managed to look best. Out of this all skin show and cringe girls she was a breath of fresh air…..
As I was looking at her trying to approach her, I found my junior Nakul go and hug her, I don’t know why but I really felt bad. But later when I enquired I found out that she was his girlfriend to my dismay. But I really thought it odd that a beauty like her must be struck with an idiot like him. But since they were both good friends of Richa I let it pass, but I being Dev could not let the opportunity to meet her pass by, and when I went near her I found a perfect opportunity.
She was standing there with a play card “ I JUST NEED A LITTLE PUSH, WILL YOU GIVE ME” written on it and that idiot Nakul was also not near her. So I just went picked her up and put her in the pool with a splash. As soon as she touched the pool her shout was momentary.
Tammana: What the f**k? Who the hell are you and what the hell did you do?”
Dev: Well I did what you asked for….
Tammana: What is that suppose to mean? When did I ask you to put me in water?
Dev: Well what’s problem with you girls, this is why a guy can never understand your kind….
Tammana: What do you mean?
Dev: Just look at the card in your hand….
Tammana was shocked to see what the card in her hand said…..
Tammana: I don’t know about that when I came in the waiter gave me one of those……
Dev: Well your card said…
Tammana: I am educated enough to read that….. but who the hell gave you permission to pick me up.
Dev: Well Miss……..
As the argument was going out of hand Richa and Romit came running with Nakul calmed them down and told Tammana to take it as a joke and leave it since it was her best friend’s engagement she let it go but the anger was still burning in her eyes……. She was never the one to backout from an argument…..
Dev never thought Tammana will back out from this case too. But it seem that she was taking case too latently. Still there was no solid action from her side, it was never Tammana’s style. She was an attacker rather than a defender. For first time dev was not able to read his opponent, but no wonder her was never able to understand anything when it came to her. He prepared himself to be ready for anything……
He knew she was full of surprises but he had few in his bag too…..
