In a candid interview with Hautterfly, Parmar revealed her encounter with the casting couch, a disturbing reality she faced as a young actress.
Juhi Parmar’s Casting Couch Ordeal
At just seventeen and a half years old, during the early stages of her career, Juhi Parmar encountered a casting couch situation. She recounted how a channel head propositioned her to wear a two-piece bikini for a music album shoot, hinting that compromising her principles would pave the way for success in the industry. Despite the pressure, Parmar refused the offer, firmly standing by her values.
The channel head, visibly frustrated, questioned her stance against bold scenes and implied that without making such compromises, she would struggle to survive in the industry. He said, “There is this word called compromise, agar tumne ye nahi kiya to tumko lagta hai ki tum tik sakogi yaha pe (If you will not do compromise, then what do you think will you be able to stand in this industry)?”
In response, Parmar boldly declared that she would rather return home than compromise her integrity for any opportunity. She left the channel’s office with her principles
