The episode starts with Rishi gently asking Nutan the question that has haunted him for long—who is Jhanak’s real father? Nutan grows emotional as she recalls her marriage with Aniruddh. She tells Rishi that had she revealed the truth earlier, it would have brought nothing but a storm into his life. But now, with time slipping away, she feels she must speak. Rishi urges her not to hesitate. Gathering courage, Nutan finally reveals the secret: Aniruddh Bose is Jhanak’s father. Rishi is left stunned. Struggling to process, he asks, “And what about Aditi?”
Nutan clarifies that Aditi is actually Aniruddh and Arshi’s daughter. For a few years, Aditi had stayed with her, and Nutan affectionately called her “Moon.” Rishi recalls that even Bablu once used the same name for Aditi. At that moment, Jhanak hands Rishi a letter, saying it is meant for Aniruddh. She assures him that if he has any doubts, he should speak with Anjana and Bablu.
Meanwhile, Aditi vents her frustration before Aniruddh. She says Rishi is going against her decisions and even informed her from Simulboni that someone is in a serious condition. Aniruddh wonders if Nutan’s health has worsened, but Aditi refuses to discuss it and walks away. Later, Anjana tells Bablu that Jhanak has suffered too much and they should have stood by her side. Arshi overhears this and lashes out, saying Jhanak is being given importance even after all these years.
At Rishi’s home, Aditi questions everyone angrily—why did they not stop Rishi from going to Simulboni? Dadabhai firmly replies that he is proud of Rishi’s decision and had no reason to stop him. Indumati tries to calm the situation, while Surjeet points out that Jhanak’s family deserves to be informed, otherwise they might target Rishi later. Abhimanyu wonders who else could have gone if not Rishi. Dadabhai emphasizes that since Rishi caused Jhanak’s accident, it is only right that he take responsibility.
Tanushri, however, urges Dadabhai to think of Aditi as well, reminding him that her marriage broke because of Jhanak, and Rishi’s constant involvement in Jhanak’s matters will only worsen things. Aditi insists Rishi could have simply sent someone from his office. But Dadabhai stands his ground, declaring that Rishi made the right choice. He even goes further, saying Rishi must face the truth of his marriage to Jhanak—because fate cannot be changed, no matter what anyone thinks.
Abhimanyu argues that it was a forced marriage, but Dadabhai refuses to back down. Indumati pleads with him not to create a rift within the family. Aditi bitterly accuses Jhanak of giving her testimony in Rishi’s favor only to stay in his good books.
Back in Simulboni, Nutan begins struggling to breathe. Alarmed, Rishi promises to fetch a doctor, but Nutan stops him, saying her time has come. With her dying breath, she makes a final request—that Rishi must never abandon Jhanak. She tells him it is her last wish.
Precap: Rishi hands Nutan’s letter to Aniruddh. Aniruddh warns him not to reveal its contents or everything will be destroyed. But Rishi boldly declares, “Jhanak is your daughter, and yet you refuse to take responsibility for her.”
