Jazzy Ballerini talks about her role of Emily in Anandi Baa Aur Emily

Upcoming show Anandi Baa aur Emily is already making a lot of buzz in the telly town as it is bringing up a new perpective on the whole saas bahu drama served on various channels. Jazzy Ballerini, who is all set to be seen as a Firangi Bahu in the show is quite excited about her role. Recently, during an interview with ETimes TV, Jazzy opened up about shifting her base to India for work, bagging the titular role of Emily and her experience of working on the show.

Talking about her moving to India from London, she said,”At the start, it was difficult leaving my family and starting a life on my own. Not just that, but learning a whole new language, the culture and the people. I’m quite adaptive, so I ended up getting along well with everyone. My production house is very good, so I’m comfortable after just one month.

Talking about why she chose the character of Emily, she said,” So, I chose this character because I have waited for a long time to have a family friendly role. Because, as a foreigner, I constantly get offers like some bold girl characters, which I don’t prefer doing. When I saw this was a family friendly show, everything fit so perfectly for me and I am so excited. Emily is just like me. She is very big on trying new things, she loves Indian culture, she loves the morals of the people, she loves to stay in a family. She’s very smart and she never gives up, I love her character so much.”

Well, when asked if she learnt Hindi for her character or did she hire a tutor or watch a movie? She said,” All of them. I had a Hindi teacher for two months, provided by the production house. So, I was working on my Hindi every day. My Hindi teacher wanted me to watch one Hindi movie every day. So, I watched a lot of Bollywood movies. I watched their acting, because I didn’t understand in the beginning why I was told to say some things a particular way with specific facial expressions, and after watching Bollywood I fell in love with it. Now, it just comes too naturally for me.”
