Ma Durga was abt to kill durgam but Brahmaji stops her ,he says that the right time to kill durgam has not come yet as durgam drank all the 4 vedas..so if Ma will kill him then the knowledge of the 4 vedas will also b destroyed…
MA Durga agreed with Brahmaji and vanishes…by warning durgam that soon she will kill him at the right time…
durgam feels himself as a winner..he then orders his men to destroy all the palnts and food on earth.by spreading bacterias …and by turning the eatable things into coal…his men follows his order …
Manuvrat again pleads to Katyan rishi and other rishis to eat the food …but they all refuse…Rishi Katyan says that if they all will die then Manuvrat has to bear the curse of Brahma hatya…
all the food and plants on earth turn into coal …and ashes…ppl on earth got sacred and pleads for help from Manuvrat…they all became ill due to the absence of food on earth ,their children start dyeing…
the 3 devis and narad muni inform to Ma Durga who went to meet Brahmaji as Ma Durga wanted to set Brahmaji free from the captivity of durgam but Brahmaji refused he said he wud like to b freed after durgams death else his boon which he gave to durgam will b insulted …
Ma Durga decides to end this pain of the earth ppl by making all the trees and eatable things back to their original form…she decided to take the roop of SHAAK DEVI …(Vegetable goddess) …
