Jaaved Jaaferi on reality shows using emotional stories for TRP; says, “Boogie Woogie was about talent, nowadays all reality shows are the same and the sob stories look fake”

Javed Jaaferi, Naved Jaaferi, and Ravi Behl are perhaps one of the pioneers of Indian Reality shows. Their show Boogie Woogie is India’s first dance reality show.

In a recent interview,  Jaaved talked about Boogie Woogie and how it is different from the ongoing reality shows. He said, “There are pros and cons. I personally feel that the biggest pro is that the talent is getting an opportunity, a platform. The cons are that sometimes these shows become too contrived.”

He also mentioned that reality shows nowadays are all the “same” and the sob stories look “fake.”

Jaaved further added, “Boogie Woogie was organic, real, from the heart, and not scripted.” There has always been a debate about the makers of the reality shows contestant’s using emotional stories for TRP. Earlier, singer Sonu Nigam had said that the sob stories are a “marketing strategy.”

When asked if he misses being a part of the television, he said that he misses Boogie Woogie but its comeback is not in his hands. Although he shared that there are talks about the comedy show, Takeshi Castle’s return.

On the acting front, Jaaved is currently busy with an OTT project also featuring actor Nakuul Mehta.
