Ishqbaaz – Rikara Trust 60

Gauri comes downstairs to the kitchen and sees them having a Obro/bahu moment.

She remembers her Obabu moment in the kitchen and has tears in her eyes. The time where there were all cooking together.

G(Thinking): Those were good times where I would spend time with my bhaiyyas and sisters. But, all because of Om, I lost it all. He stripped all these relationships away from me and made me an orphan.

A: Hey, Rudra. Watch the rice properly or you are going to burn it.

Om and Gauri both remember the time they burnt the rice because of their eyelock.

O(Thinking): Even though everything thinks that we are staring at each other, we would be expressing ourselves without even saying anything…

G(Thinking): Saying how much we loved each… how we will support one another… but, now I do not need his support. I can stand by myself as a successful person.

S: Gauri, come in. Why are you standing there?

G: I.. do not want to ruin your moment.

O: No one can strip the happiness from the Obros and Obahus.

G: Hmm Om. I never had the attention to strike now, Om. I will only strike when you do not expect. Om, you are aware of my track record right??

They can all feel the tension in the room between them and Shivaye stepped in to reduce it.

S: So, Gauri, what do you want me to make? Desi or Italian?

G: Obviously, desi. Italian has no spices, it is so bland. But, desi, with just flour and oil, you can make so much different types of food.

S: But, it is unhealthy though.

G (Smiling): So what? You should enjoy life and not worry about every little things.

S(Thinking): The old Gauri… I want to bring this out. Why is she hiding this and putting a mask on.

Gauri realizes what Shivaye was doing and stops smiling.

G(Stern): You should do whatever you want to do. There is no point of worrying about relationships as they always bring you down.

R: Even us, Gauri?? We are your brothers and sisters right??

G: I do not want to answer that question. (Thinking) You guys know the answer so why are you asking? You have always been there for me. I would never harm you at all.

A: Hey, do you prefer Gauri or Kesha? I do not what to call you because Dadi calls you Gauri but you prefer Kesha.

G: You can call me Kesha or Gauri. It is up to you. I just prefer Kesha because the name Gauri brings back so many bad memories.

A: But, Kesha, you also had good memories as Gauri as well. Remember all the Obros moment you were part of. Not only, Gauri is the name your parents gave me.

G: UH.. I do not what name my parents gave me. My mother is my foster parent. She adopted me from the orphanage where my parents abandoned me. I am an… orphan.

O(Thinking): She never told me this. Why did not she not tell me this? I want to scream out that you are not orphan. I am here for you, but I cannot. She will just step all over me and ridicule me.

A: At least, you experienced a mother’s love. I was also an adopted child as well but fate played such a bad game with me.

Both, Annika and Gauri, look at each other as they understand the pain they have gone through as little kids.

S (Trying to change the topic): So is it Kesha or Gauri?

G: You can call me Gauri. All of you can call me Gauri except for Om. He does not deserve to call me by my actual name. For him, it is just Kesha. Shivaye, I will be expecting two guests today that will be staying here for a while. Please let me know if they are here.

S: For sure Gauri.

Gauri walks away.
