Ishqbaaz: Rikara OS- Art Exhibition

Hey guys. After watching the art exhibition scene, I am very disappointed in how it was handled. I am not complaining just because it was Rikara scene. I equally support all three couples and love the show due to bonding between each character. I am just disappointed in how it was treated. This is the first time a man has drawn his lady love and there should be more time. But, I felt like it was rushed which makes perfect sense as they have fit all three couples and TejViLana in 45 minutes.

So here is my take of that scene. I thought it would be short but it turned out to be approximately 3425 so I divided it up into a few parts so it would be easier to read. I have not proofread it. Thank you for all your support!!

After Shivaye call, Shivaye goes to Om.

S: As you asked me, I have invited Gauri to the exhibition. I hope she comes there.

O: She will, I know she will. You do not realize how much she respect.

S: Let’s what happens.

Gauri in her hotel room was thinking about Shivaye’s request.

G: Shivaye has never requested me to do anything but he has done so much for me. When Om kicked me out, he was the one that welcomed me back and introduced me to his entire family. But, if I go, and Om sees him, he will just kick me out of the exhibition. I would not be surprised if his paintings are based on my hatred. I will still go and talk to Shivaye. Once I am done, I will leave. I will make sure that I never see him face again.

Night time – Exhibition

It was such a grand event. Major celebrities were there, all waiting to Om’s artwork. The lights were slightly dimmed with tables around so people can stand around and talk while enjoying the art. A bar was also set up but it only served wine and light drinks.

The paintings were set up with red clothes to cover them. They were planning to reveal them as it will add another surprise.

O(Thinking): The reason why they are covered is because when you enter, Gauri, I want you to realize my love for you. I was based the only thing I enjoy doing, drawing, on my true love. I hope you love my surprise.

Guests are entering and the entire family is there.

D: Did you guys see the work yet? It has been a long time since Om has had these exhibitions.

S(lying): No, I have not. (He looks around)

A: Who are you looking for? Do not worry, your crush, Shakira is not here.

S(Glaring at her): Shakira will not come here. Instead, I asked her to come later so we can talk.

A: Really? What a bad liar are you? Now, tell me the truth. Who are you looking for?

S: Gauri, I asked her to come.

R: Do you think she will come?
S: I hope so.

Gauri enters into the exhibition. As usual, she was wearing her white, red and green salwar with long earring and decorated bangles. She was carrying a black trench coat and scarf in her hand.

G(Thinking): God, these people look so dressed up and here I am underdressed for this event. No wonder he hated me. If he would have introduced me as his wife, everyone would have made fun of him for marrying such a low class girl. Om, you deserve someone better.

She sees the entire family. She takes a step to walk towards them but then stops.

G(Thinking): If I go now, then Om will find out and I will ruin his mood.

So she walks in the opposite direction and waits for the main event to start. The focus lights are now on the front stage and Om walks out in a black suit with a light blue shirt. His hair was out, showing that Artkara was back.

O: Good evening ladies and gentleman and thank you for coming out for this event. You may have wondered why the artworks are covered. The reason behind this is because it is based on a theme that is so close to my life. Each picture here represent a certain feeling and event that happens in a marriage.

Om scans the audience to see if Gauri is there but does not see here. Gauri, on purpose, stood in a dark area so she does not catch her attention. With the salwar she was wearing, it was easy to get his attention.

O: Now, it is time for the great reveal.

Om’ managers walks up: The starting price of the artwork is 1 crore.

O: I am not selling these pieces. I am only showcasing them but I have no intention of selling them. I would appreciate it during the exhibition if people do not ask me to sell it, as the answer will always be no. (Thinking): For me, money is not the biggest issue. The purpose behind this exhibition is to showcase my love to you. Gauri, wherever you are, please come out and talk to me.

He presses the button and all the red clothes fall on the table. Gauri looks around and she was surprised. They were pictures of her. The first one that caught her eye was the time where she played as a muse. She was sitting on the green recliner with a peacock feather covering her face and the bright moon above her. There was another one with Gauri throwing water from the mountain.

She walked forward and saw the biggest surprise of her life. It was a painting of her in her wedding dress with a red cloth covering her head. She remembers the time when she saved Om from the poison.

G(Tearing up): I cannot believe he still remembers that moment. I thought he said that he hated me.

She walks forward and sees another one. A girl in a bulldozer with tears in her eyes, crushing the white car in front of her.

G(Smiling): Our first fight. Who knew that would lead up to all this pain.

Om comes down to his family and he can see the surprise in their face. Om’s family was also shocked seeing the paintings as each one resembled Gauri. There was a picture of Gauri throwing a candy on a man’s forehead. Om did not want to point out who the person was.

D: This man looks so familiar. (Then she looks at Shivaye). Apart from the eyes and hair style, he looks like you.

A: It is him. Gauri accidentally threw candy on his forehead.

S: It did hurt but she was such a delight. She brought a smile on everyone’s face.

O(Thinking): She tried to bring one on my face but I am the one who could not accept it. Now when I want to smile with her, she is not here. Where are you, Gauri?

A: Do not worry, Om. She will come and talk to you.

Gauri then sees another artwork. There was a girl wearing sunglasses, throwing Gol Gappas in the air.

G(Thinking): When I do it, it is fun but from a thired person’s perspective, it looks so silly. (

She smiles and walks away but then a man starts giving her weird looks. She notices and walks away but the man follows. He approaches her.

M: You look the girl in the artwork. Are you related to Omkara sir in any way?

G: Me? Related to Omkara Singh Oberoi? How is that possible? I am just a village girl who accidentally came in here and looking for my way out.

Man looks at the way she is dressed and nods. He walks away. However, what he saw does spread like wildfire in the room.

Om’s manager comes up to Om, who was anxiously waiting for her with his family.

M: Sir, Gauri mam is here.

O: Where? Did you ask her to stay put? You should have brought her here.

M: Sir, I did not see here but the audience did see a girl who looks just like the girl in the painting. She was wearing a white salwar so we can definitely look for.

O: No, I do not want to make her feel like a captive trying to run away from the enemy. I will look for.

Om and his manager walks away from his family. Gauri sees Om walking away from his family.

G(Thinking): As much Om hates me, this family loved me so much. I cannot insult them by ignoring them.

Gauri walks to them.

G: Bade Bhaiyya?

Shivaye turns around and it was Gauri. Gauri enters in the circle and everyone starts hugging her.

D: Did you see the paintings? Om painted for you, Gauri.

G: I saw the paintings. They look nice. I am glad that Om got his inspiration back.

S: So, did you talk to him?

G: I do not want to talk to him. There is no point of ruining his mood.

Shivaye quickly makes eye contact to Rudra and signals him to get Om. Gauri sees this and tries to leave but the family does not let him.

D: So is it true that you threw candy at Shivaye?

G: Yes, it is.

D: I am surprised that he did not get mad.

S: That is because I am willing to put anything up for my sister. (Shivaye smiles at Gauri and Gauri smiles at Shivaye.

D: Is there any way you can show me how you did it?

G: But, on who though?

Gauri could not do it on a stranger as it was disrespectful and this was her family so that was not possible.

A: Do it on me. I want to see it with my own eyes.

Gauri agrees and takes a candy from the jar. She then throws it on Annika’s forehead and it lands in her mouth. The entire family looks at her with their mouths wide open.

A: That hurt so much. I should not have asked for it.

They all turn to Annika and see her rubbing her forehead. They start laughing hard to a point where the visitors were looking at them.

S: Gauri, now you have showed me a way to annoy Annika. Thank you so much.

There was no response. The entire family turns to look at where Gauri was standing and she was not there. She is gone.

G (Walking through the crowd, thinking): I know what your plan is but Om will never agree. The moment I go back to him, he will start hurling his insults.

Om and Rudra comes and he finds out that Gauri has just left.

O(Thinking): If only I came a minute earlier, I would have seen her. She would not have left by now.

Om walks toward the entrance and a short girl with a black trench coat and black scarf covering her face walks toward him. As soon as she passes him, he recognizes the fragrance. It was the smell of cucumbers, the same hand lotion, Gauri uses. He turns around and sees the girl standing there with her arm out. He followed the arm with his eyes and the decoration on his bangle was attached to his watch. The same decorated bangles that Gauri wears. He unhooks the decoration from his watch and stares at her.

G(Thinking): OMG, Omkaraji.

Om can see her gulping and without seeing her face, he can sense her tension. The scarf only revealed her eyes and it was the same eyes highlight my kohl that Gauri had. The girl breaks eye contact with him and walks away. Om watches her walk away.

O:Gauri! (It was loud enough to only be heard by her.)

She stops in her track as it is any human’s natural instinct to stop when someone calls your name She continues to walk but he calls her name again.

G(Thinking): Why is he calling my name when he realizes that I am not interested in talking to him.

Om goes up to her and stands in front of her. Gauri looked at the ground, refusing to make any contact with him.

He then puts his hands up and tugs on the scarf. The scarf comes off her face and Gauri was looking at him. (Male Saathiya plays)

O: Gauri? Why are you hiding from me? I was looking for you the entire time. Did you like the exhibition?

G: Uhh (Thinking) I do not know what to say. I do not want him to insult me in front of everyone.

O: Did you like my art? I had a day to draw all this but I got it done because of my inspiration.

The moment she says inspiration, Gauri looks up at him.

G: The girl in the artwork is really pretty. You definitely can paint. (Thinking) I know that girl is me but if I say that, then I do not know how he will react.

O: That girl was you, Gauri. These paintings were my memories of you.

G: The memories of annoying the crap out of you. You had a picture of me destroying your car and stealing your phone. Another picture of our marriage. The moment that you regretted your entire life. You have always said that anger has always inspired you. It turned out that your hatred for me turned into inspiration.

O: This is not true.

G: Then, what is the truth?

Om goes close to her.

O: The truth is that… that… (He looks around and sees all these people.)

O(Thinking): I definitely do not regret that moment. I do not know if I will accept that marriage but I definitely want you in my life. I do not how to define this relationship so how can I explain to you.
G: I have had enough. There is no point of explaining something when it does not even exist. Om, congrats on this exhibition. Your fans are loving you and you are becoming the next sensation for girls.

O(Thinking): I do not care what other girls think about me. I want to be your sensation.

G: I helped your family and reshaped your relationship with your family but you did not accept that. I am glad that I also helped you reshape your career. (Female Saathiya plays)

O: Thank…

G: I don’t need your thanks. But, next time, please do not use your family and force me to do things that I do not want to do.

O: I never had the intention to manipulate.

G: I am not that stupid. I maybe a village girl who cannot pronounce the name of the medicine but I have common sense.

Gauri turns around and walks away but Om holds her hand and refuses to let go.

G: Stop making a scene. People are looking at us. They are going to think I am your muse and insult me.

O: I do not care what they think about us. You are my…

G(Thinking): You cannot even accept the fact you are my wife. How do I expect you to treat me as your wife.

O: Gauri, the event is not done yet. Please stay.

G(Thinking): He is not going to let me go. I need to find a way as soon as he is distracted.

G: I will stay. Not for you but for your family.

O: Promise…

G: I promise that I will never leave your family.

He puts his palm up and asks her to promise. Gauri was hesitant to touch him. But, as soon as they come into contact, they get shocked by one another.

Om starts to laugh and says this is current not static.

Gauri just looks at him without any expression. He walks away and heads toward the stage.

G(Thinking): Before, he used to call you a static and make a huge issue out of you. Now, he accepts the fact that it is current. I do not understand what is going on.

Om goes up to the stage and starts talking. Even though there were thousands of people there watching him, his eyes were only on her and he was specifically talking to her.

O: Thank you for coming and supporting my work. For an artist, a blank canvass is the way he or she can express their emotions and that is exactly what I have done here. But, there is one more thing I need to show you.

Om goes to the easel and opens up the curtain. It was a picture of a man holding a girl who was about to fall down on glass. The glass pierced his hand and it was bleeding. (Male and Female Saathiya plays) No one understood what inspired him to draw this except for Gauri and himself. It was the time when Om protected her from falling when she dropped the milk glass on the floor.

O: Any true relationship, let be between couples, siblings, parents and friends, is not about openly stating the love for them. It is all the small things you do for them to make them happy. The small sacrifices you make to keep them happy and safe.

G(Thinking): He only saved me to save his baby but why would he draw this here? He knows that it was all lie.

O(Thinking): The reason why I drew this is because this shows how much I want you to be with me. I feel happy when you are by my side, where I know you are safe.

Om quickly glances at his family who was in tears as they knew how much he is hurt inside and then glances back to Gauri. She is gone. Om looks around and cannot find her.

O (Says it fast) Thank you for coming out and supporting me.

He goes backstage and his manager comes out with a folded napkin in his hand.

M: Gauri mam asked me to give you this to me.

Om opens up the napkin and reads it.

Letter:

Om, I do not know what you are doing but as long as I helped you realize your passion for art, I am happy. Please do not make any attempts to find me as I want to find an identity for myself. I am a person who values self-respect which is something you are not willing to give me. There are several times where I have put up with your insults but that is because you have saved my life and my mother’s life. But, you misunderstood that and thought that I was after your family’s money and compared me to Svetlana. You never realized that if I had the same character as Svetlana, then I would have never supported you. By now, she would have been married to you and become an Oberoi. But, I did not want that. I just wanted to be Gauri Kumari Sharma. Also, you might blame me for leaving but I promised that I will never leave your family. And, I will keep that promise. Your family is my family no matter what our relationship is and I am willing to sacrifice anything to keep them happy.

There are times when I hoped that you will recognize me as my wife but I have given up on that. I have placed an envelope underneath Table 52. Please take it as the things inside it rightfully belongs to you.

Om runs to Table 52 and takes the envelope.

O(Thinking): It is not a letter but there is something inside.

Om decides to go to his car as he is on the verge of breaking down and crying. As he sits inside, he sees a mangalsultra, her engagement letter and another napkin that was slightly wet.

Letter:
I am not your wife so I do not own this. I should have given this to you in person but you will not let me go. Again, you will treat me as a prisoner and all I want to be is a free Chirayya. Please give this to another girl who will be equal to you in every way.

Om starts to cry and realizes that the napkin is wet as well.

O(Thinking): It was not raining outside and the napkin is not wet completely. There are only small spots of moisture on it. Are these her… tears? That means she was crying and misses me. Gauri, I do not care what you think of me but I will get you back. I will stay in Pune and find you. I will stay till you accept me and I do not care what happens to my career or the Oberoi family as of right now, you are my priority.
