Sony TV show Ishq Par Zor Nahin is a show which has been on the receiving end of all the love and affection from it’s fans. The show is produced by Gul Khan and Deepti Kalwani. Param Singh, Akshita Mudgal, Shagun Sharma, Rajat Verma and Lakshya Handa form the primary cast.
We all have seen over the years that a few faces of any show receive lots of hatred for the character they essay on screen. And something similar is happening to Shagun Sharma too. Fans are furious on Sonu as she is not budging in letting the truth out in front of Ahaan and disclosing the reason why Ishqi broke all ties with Mayank. All this while Sonu has been extremely scared and petrified to reveal the truth to her family.
Due to this scenario, Shagun is facing lots of hatred on social media. Fans who are against Sonu not letting the truth out, targeted Shagun on social media and hurled negative feedback and hate comments to her. Things took an ugly turn when all of these turned into accusing Shagun’s family for her upbringing and Shagun of receiving Rape threats. Frustrated with the constant bickering on social media, Shagun took to twitter and asked her fans to understand the basic fact that she is just playing a role and that’s not her in real-life.
When a leading entertainment portal got in touch with Shagun, she revealed, “I am someone who always take criticism positively. I understand the fans’ sentiments and their attachments for certain characters and I always ignore such things. But today things blew out of proportion when I read a few comments related to my family and stuff. One comment read that I should commit suicide while others had rape threats. I thought it’s time I speak up against this insensitivity”.
Shagun further added, “I was a little apprehensive to post on twitter because I wasn’t sure as to if the fans would understand my point of view. But to my pleasant surprise, I came across many fans who understood me and stood by me”.
Well, all of this is the down side of social media, isn’t it?
