Ishkara: Unique bond analysis

Why we miss Ishkara even after 10 months of Ishana’s exit? Why is Ishana’s character one of a kind? Why we really want Ishkara back?

Well guys, before I continue with the answer to the above questions, I would like to clear out a few things.

Firstly, if you are a die-heart Rikara/Gauri/Shrenu fan, you may not agree with my point’s weather they are meaningful or not. Secondly, these points are not meant to hurt anyone or prove anything. Thirdly, I am sure that true Ishkara/Vrushy fans will understand that why we prefer Ishana over Gauri. Also, I am sure many of you won’t agree, and so please you can very politely drop your views in the comments below. Also, my article isn’t meant to create a rift among Ishkara and Rikara fans, because we all are Omkara/Kunal fans, the element that bonds us together, our lovely Kunal aka Omkara.

If you all remember, Om’s character was introduced as a completely different individual than what he has changed to. Omkara was an artist by profession, his art his only love and passion, he believed in the power of truth, hated lies and liars and a very mature and composed person but at the same time disturbed by the pain he had lived his life with. Well he met Ishana when he was like this, and hence they could connect with each other, because of a common tie that bound them together, their pain and love for their family.

Ishqbaaz started with the concept of “Opposites attract” and that was exactly what Shivika, Ishkara and Rumya stood for.

Ishana’s character was complete opposite of Omkara but still connected in a beautiful way. If Om always spoke the truth, Ishana used lies to live her life. Omkara was a calm, composed and mature character whereas Ishana was dramebaaz, bubbly and childish. Omkara didn’t believe in the power of money but Ishana knew how important money is to survive. For Om truth is a choice but for Ishana, truth is a luxury which only rich people can afford. Ishana was strong and fought back all problems life put in front of her whereas Om was disturbed easily by problems (maybe that’s why he had to take drugs)

Although they had a lot of differences, they had similarities also. Both of them were passionate towards art, Om, an artist by profession and Ishana, an adorable dancer. They both had suffered miseries in life and hence knew what pain they lived with. They could very well connect with each other and each other’s pain, that’s why they had that amazing convo on the stairs. They both talked their heart out to each other. I still remember when they were talking and Om completed Ishana’s sentences, well that episode clearly showed how Ishkara completed each other.

Well although Ishkara was shown hardly in 15-20 episodes, they had a larger impact than what even 100 episodes of DBO couldn’t have. Well guys, you know why because there was something different in Ishkara’s story, because it was not a simple love story, boy meets girl, they become friends and fall in love. Ishkara was and is different and will always be different.

Ishana very well understood Om and his emotions and that’s why it was so difficult for her to make Om believe her, sympathize with her sad story because Om believed in what his heart said, and “Uske dil ne kaha tum sachi ho”. As Om understood the importance of relationships, it was not easy for her to create rifts between Ridhima and him. Ishana was not like other con girls, who come, play tricks and leave. Even for her emotions and relations had value, she was not ki, “I don’t care what Omkara feels”, in fact she cared for Om’s emotions, she cared if he was hurt, she cared for life because she herself knew how harsh life could turn to be. She felt bad for hurting Om, lying to him, breaking his trust, playing with his emotions and using his friendship. This guilt killed her every single moment. She was intelligent and shatir, she had perfectly planned everything, carefully worked out her moves and she understood what she was doing and what consequences she would have to face.

I still remember when she said, “Duniya ko chehra dikhta hai, dil kisiko nahi dikhta” and when you look back, you’ll understand how true her words are. She understood Om and his pains, as she had rightly said about Om, “Jo khud tuta hai wahi dusro ko jodna chahti hai”. She felt bad for hurting Om, “I am sorry, Omkara, main tumhe dhoka nahi dena chahti” and “main use aur nahi todna chahti”.

She was a self made person with no proper care and affection, but she never let her sister feel the same, she protected and pampered her. When Om found out her truth, she listened to all his harsh words, he accused her and said what not but she kept quite because she knew she was wrong, but she couldn’t keep quite when he talked about her family and upbringing, Om questioned her about lying and that’s why her words were so right, “Jab garibi darwaze par knock karti hai to sabse pehle sach ko hi khidki todkar bhagna padta hai”. All her dialogues hold such deep meanings just like Om’s shayaris and philosophies. She never left her self esteem be hurt by people’s insults and she very strongly fought back to all her problems.

“KHILKHILAKAR HASNA MAINE SIKHA NAHI
AANSU CHUPA KAR RONA JAROOR SIKH GAYI,
MANMANIYA MANMARZIYA KARNA MAINE SIKHA NAHI
APNO KI JAROORATEIN PURI KARNA SIKH GAYI.

KHWABON KI SUNEHARI DUNIYA MEIN JITI NAHI
HAKIKAT SE WAKIF HU,
APNI KHWAISHON KO PURA KARNA NAHI
APNO KE LIYE JITI HU.

JHOOT BHI KAHE HAIN, DOKHA BHI HAI DIYA
MANTI HU BAHUT GALAT HAIN YEH SAB,
PAR YEH SAB APNO KE LIYE HAI KIYA
JANTI HU NAHI SAMJHOGE YEH SAB.

MERI IS EK BAAT KO KARLO YAAD
MERI ZINDAGI HAI APNO KE BAAD.”

This poem by me is a small dedication to Ishana’s amazing and fantastic character and this article is a tribute to Vrushika’s mind blowing and superb acting who made Ishana so real that she made a place in our hearts forever.

That’s why I wish to see Ishana back in Om’s life and don’t like Gauri with Om. If you all believe that Gaukara are married and now nothing can be done then tell me why Soumya got replaced by Bhavya even after the world knowing that Rumya are married. And anyways Om married Gauri only to save her.

Writing is like dreaming with words. We all have many stories hidden inside us, all we need is someone to listen, and someone to read through them.
