CHAPTER 73
Inside the Hut
Ishana is still unconscious… She is having some flashes running in her mind which is not clear… She sees two girls are running in the forest… She couldn’t see their faces… She tries to look at their faces but she can’t… She started to breathe heavily… Omkara who is lying beside her sees her breathing heavily… He worries for her and hugs her calming her down… She calms after a while… Omkara pats her cheek waking her up… She opens her eyes slowly and sees Omkara beside her… She cries and hugs him tightly… Omkara caresses her back calming her down… He breaks the hug and looks at her cupping her face…
Om: Are you ok??
Ishu: I think I have came here before… But, don’t know when… Some flashes came into my mind but I can’t see it clearly… It was totally blur…
Om: Ok… Relax!! Just tell me what did you see…
Ishu: Two girls are running in a forest… It’s looked like they are escaping from some danger… They are running.. running… (Omkara waiting for her to continue but she doesn’t continue and looking around the hut…) They…. They…. (Holds her head) Aaahhh!!! I can’t remember… (Cries in pain)
Om: (hugs her shoulders and calms her) Shhh… Be relax… Don’t strain yourself… (Makes her lie on his shoulder and caresses her back)(Omkara thinks) I think she is getting back her memory… So, she must have came here before… But, I can’t stress her now… Let her relax first… (Hugs her more closer)
They stay like that for sometime… Ishana calms down and looks at him… Omkara smiles at her…
Om: Are you ok??
Ishu: (nods and snuggles closer to him) Hmmm… Sorry… I troubled you a lot… We lost in this forest because of me…
Om: But, I’m happy that we are lost in this forest… At least, we could spend some time together… (Ishana blushes slightly and turns away from him) Why?? Don’t you like to be with me??
Ishu: It’s not like that… But, you are saying like this is the first time we are spending our time together…
Om: Maybe we have spent together before this but now it’s different… Previously only care and concern are there between us… Now, love is there as well… (Ishana moves away from him but he holds her hand and pulls her towards him… She lands on his chest and looks at him…) Maybe you are not accepting it, but I know it…
He holds her face and kisses her both cheeks… Ishana closes her eyes feeling his closeness… He makes her to lie down and kisses her forehead… Ishana is breathing heavily as she will something different inside herself… He intertwine his fingers with her’s and kisses them… He goes near her and brushes his lips slightly with her’s… He looks into her eyes asking for permission… She blinks her eyes as her agreement… He smiles and pecks her lips slightly… He almost deepened the kiss but the door opened suddenly making them startled…
They are surprised to see their family there who are giving them a teasing look… He realised their position and gets up from Ishana… Both of them composed themselves and turn away feeling embarrassed… Others smile looking at them…
Rudra: O, don’t worry… We didn’t see anything… (Ishana blushes hard hearing him)
Shivaay: (slaps Rudra’s head) Won’t you keep quiet for sometime… (Looks at IshKara) Om, both of you are fine, right??
Om: (looks at him) Yeah, Shivaay… We are fine… Sorry… We have lost our way and there is no signal in my mobile… That’s why I couldn’t inform you…
Shivaay: It’s ok… I understand… Luckily you both are safe… I’m relieved now… (IshKara smile… The girls go towards Ishana and hug her…)
Annika: Luckily we found you… I thought we have to wait till tomorrow morning to find you both…
Om: (looking at the girls) Shivaay, why did you bring the girls as well?? That too to this forest in this time…
Rudra: Do you think that we are the one wanted to bring them here?? They all are very adamant to follow us…
Mithra: Of course… How we will leave without our Ishu??
Nivi: Right!! That too in this forest!!
Ishu: Di, but bhabhi is pregnant… It’s not safe for her to come here in this condition… She needs to take proper rest…
Swet: Ishu, don’t worry… I’m not weak anymore… And if it comes to you, I will be extra strong… (Ishana shakes her head and hugs her)
Arjun: So, what are we going to do now??
Karthik: I’ll order pizza and we will have it here… (All give him a weird look) What are you looking at?? Where we will go in this night… We have to stay here till morning… After that, we will decide how to go out from this forest…
Sid: He is right… We can’t go out now… We will stay here and try to find way out in the morning…
Shivaay: Ok… Tonight, all of us need to adjust ourselves here in this hut… Ok??
All: Ok!!!
All find a place to sit… The hut is not very big, so they can’t lie down to sleep… They have to sleep in their sitting position… But sleep is faraway from their eyes… The girls started to chat among themselves while the guys are looking at them shaking their heads… Ranveer gets up from his place and goes outside… Priyanka sees him and she too goes behind him…
Ranveer is looking at the sky… Priyanka goes and hugs him from behind…
Ranveer: (smiles knowing who is that) Someone getting romantic I guess… (Priyanka breaks the hug and slaps his arm)
Prinku: We couldn’t spend some time together because of all those happenings… I thought to spend time with you now but you are teasing me… Fine, I’m leaving… (Turns to go but Ranveer holds her hand)
Ranveer: (pulls her towards him) Where you want to leave?? I came here, so that you will come to me…
Prinku: I won’t believe you… (Pouts)
Ranveer: (chuckles looking at her sulking face) You are looking too cute when pout like this… (Priyanka wants to smile but controls herself) Why I feel that a smile going to appear on your face?? Are you controlling it?? (Priyanka can’t control anymore and she smiles at him… She hugs him and he hugs her back caressing her hair)
Prinku: I’m so happy, Ranveer… Our problems are getting solved… I didn’t expect that Om bhaiya aware of it and he still accept bhabhi after knowing about it…
Ranveer: That is love, Priyanka… True love won’t care about anything… I’m surprised too when I got to know that Om already knew it… But, his love for her make him to think wisely… At least, he made a good decision… Not like me…
Prinku: (breaks the hug) I know what you meant… Please forget that, Ranveer… Don’t talk about our past anymore… Let’s concentrate on our present and future only…
Ranveer: You are saying this, Priyanka?? But, you still didn’t come out from the past… Deep in your heart you are still blaming yourself for my sister’s death… Right?? (Priyanka’s eyes are filled with tears and she turns from him wiping her tears) I know you very well, Priyanka… You and Ishu are same in this matter… Both of you did the accident intentionally or not is not a matter… You caused someone’s death are the big issue for you both… At least, in Ishu’s matter we can say something else happened that day… But, in your case, we can’t say like that… (Priyanka started to cry…)
Prinku: You are right, Ranveer… I still didn’t come out from it… That guilt is still killing me everyday… I don’t know how to rectify it… (Ranveer just hugs her)
Ranveer: I have an idea for it… I hope you will agree with it…
Prinku: (looks at him and sobs) What idea??
Ranveer: Give me back my sister… (Priyanka looks at him in confuse while he gives a mischievous look to her) I mean after our marriage, we will give birth to a baby girl… I will believe that my sister born as our daughter… And you will be free from your guilt forever… (Priyanka smiles in tears and hugs him tightly… Ranveer too hugs her back)
They heard a clapping sounds and turn towards it… They are surprised to see ShivIka… PriVeer break the hug and feel embarrassed…
Shivaay: Hey!! You don’t have to feel embarrassed… Both of you are engaged… (PriVeer smile)
Ranveer: Shivaay, you both are here?? What others are doing?? Still awake??
Annika: Everyone just slept… Both of us couldn’t sleep and thought to spend sometime here…
Shivaay: We saw you here and thought to talk with you both…
Ranveer: With us?? About what??
ShivIka: Madhu!!
PriVeer: Madhu?? (ShivIka nod their heads)
Ranveer: What do you want to know about her??
Shivaay: Siddharth told us that her family abandoned her for having Dev’s heart… Is that true?? He said only you know it clearly…
Annika: We are very confused about that… That’s why we thought to ask you…
Ranveer: Siddharth is right… Her own family abandoned her for having Dev’s heart… I’ll tell you what happened that day…
FLASHBACK
Few years ago
Apollo Hospital, Chennai
Man: No!! I won’t agree with this… My daughter should not receive heart from someone who is not from my caste…
Girl: Pa, I want to live… Please agree…
Lady: Shut up, Madhu!!! You don’t interfere in this… We can’t accept random person’s heart…
Madhu: (cries) But, I want to live, ma… That person is a human too, maa… He is donating his organs after he left this world… Please agree with this… (IshRan feel bad looking at Madhu… They go towards her)
Ishu: (holds her hand) Don’t cry… Your heart transplantation will be done… No one can stop it… (Towards doctor) Doctor, take this girl to the operation theatre and prepare for the operation… We will talk with her family… (The doctor nods and takes Madhu to the operation theatre)
Ranveer: (towards Madhu’s parents) What kind of person are you?? You don’t want your daughter to live?? (Pointing towards Ishana) This girl lost her husband but she still manage to hide her sorrow and wanted to make her husband alive by donating his heart for your daughter but you are rejecting it by giving stupid excuses… I can’t believe in this century you are still talking about caste, blood and lineage… How come your thinking is too low??
Madhu’s Dad: I don’t care… I can’t accept someone who is not from my caste to give his heart to my daughter… Never mind if I lost my daughter but I can’t answer my people if they got to know that my daughter received heart from a man that is not belong to my caste… Don’t know whose dirty blood running in him??
Ishu: (angrily) Just stop!! Not a single word against my husband… How dare you to call my husband as dirt?? You are the one is full of dirt in your blood as well as your mind… You don’t care for ur daughter life but thinking of your caste and your people.. I don’t care you are agreeing or not with this… But your daughter’s heart transplantation will be done… If you try to stop, I’ll not hesitate to complain against you to police… Ranveer, if they try to create any problem, just arrest them in murder attempt case… I myself will make the complaint…
Madhu’s dad is dumbfounded.. Operation was successful.. Madhu gain conscious after few hours…
Madhu’s dad: You are not belong to us anymore… You are having someone’s organ who doesn’t belong to our caste… So, we are not taking you with us… Our relationship has ended here… You are dead for us… (Madhu looks at them in shock including Ranveer)
Madhu: Pa, how could you say like this?? I’m your daughter…
Dad: That was till yesterday… Since that guy’s heart has been transplant into you, you are dead for us…
Ranveer: What are you saying?? Your daughter is alive… Don’t you feel happy about that??
Dad: No!! Not at all… She already become a burden for us for born as a girl… I and my wife wanted a boy but she is the one born to us and that too unhealthily… Since she born my family faced a lot of problem… We took few years to recover from those problems… She is such a bad omen for my family… We thought to marry her to someone and live peacefully after that but who will agree to marry a girl with weak heart… That’s why we wanted to cure her first and get her to marry some guy from our caste and rid her out of our lives… But that too a failure… She is having heart which belongs to someone who is not from our caste… If I know this will happen earlier itself, I must have killed her when she was a baby….
Ranveer: Don’t you dare!!! (Holds his collar angrily) Not a word more against her… Or you will see the worst of me… (Pushes him) Chi!! What type a man are you?? Thinking low about a woman… Don’t you forget that your mother and your wife are a woman too… What did you say?? She is burden for you since she born as a girl and she is a bad omen… Hey!!! She is gifted to born as a girl… You don’t know how precious a woman is… They are more wise than us and know how to handle everything easily… You won’t understand that… Because for you, a woman is like a slave only… You will understand it if you treated them as a precious one… You are a failure for every men in this world… (Looking at Madhu’s mother) You are a woman too, how could you think like this about your daughter?? (The lady puts her head down) Fine… You all don’t have to take her with you… I will take care of her… From today, Madhu is my sister… Both of you get lost from here and don’t even show your faces to us after this…
Man: (smirks) Keep her with you… One day, you will know how true I am about her…
Ranveer: Out!!! (Both of them leave from there in anger)
Ranveer turns towards Madhu and sees her crying badly… He goes towards her and sits beside her…
Madhu: (cries) I’m a bad omen… My own family abandoned me… I have no one other than them in this world…
Ranveer: (wipes her tears) You have me as your brother… (Madhu looks at him) I had a sister before this but I lost her in an accident few years before… After that, I stayed alone… Now, I got another sister in you… Will you accept me as your brother?? (Madhu cries and nods her head… Ranveer hugs her…) I will take you with me to our house in Mumbai after you are discharged… We will start our life fresh there… (Madhu nods)
Suddenly, she started to breath heavily… Ranveer calls the doctor… The doctor came and check her… Ranveer tells whatever happened just now…
Doc: Although the operation is successful but she is still very weak… She can’t handle this type of pressures… She needs to be under medication for few months… Don’t make her to strain very much… It’s not good for her health…
Ranveer: Ok, doctor… When can I take her back??
Doc: She needs to be under observation for few days… She only can be discharged if she is fine enough… But, she can’t travel a long journey for minimum one year… It will be better if she stays nearby here… She has to come for check up for every month…
Ranveer: Ok, doctor… Thank you… (The doctor leaves… Ranveer goes towards Madhu…) I thought to take you to Mumbai but the doctor said you can’t travel far… So, we have to stay in Chennai till you fully recover… You don’t mind, right??
Madhu: I don’t mind, sir… We can stay here…
Ranveer: (holds her hand) Don’t call me sir… I’m your brother… Just call me bhaiya…
Madhu: (smiles weakly) Ok, bhaiya…
Ranveer: (smiles) Good girl… You take rest for a while… I have to meet Ishana and tell her about your surgery being success… I’ll be back in a while… (Madhu nods and Ranveer leaves from there)
FLASHBACK ENDS
ShivIka and Priyanka’s eyes are filled with tears listening to Ranveer… They didn’t think that Madhu has been abandoned like that…
Ranveer: I visited Ishu and her family who were in sorrow that time… Ishu still manage to ask about Madhu that time… I told her whatever happened at the hospital… She was completely pissed off with Madhu’s parents… She told her family about Madhu and they decided to bring Madhu to their house and take care of her… And they asked me too to stay with them… That is how I become one of their family…
Shivaay: (wipes his tears) Still there are some people whose thoughts are like Madhu’s parents… What kind of people are them?? Their own daughter….. They didn’t care about her life but they gave importance for their caste and society…
Ranveer: I know it’s hard to believe but that is the truth…
Shivaay: I felt ashamed of myself thinking that once I was like that too… (Looks at Annika) How much I humiliated you about your naam, khoon, khandan?? But, you took all that silently…
Annika: (hugs him) Shivaay… Don’t talk about it…
Shivaay: No, Annika… Ranveer is right… It’s a gift to born as a girl… Your mental strength are higher than the men… You, Prinku, Soumya, Gauri, Ishana faced a lot in lives but still all of you are strong enough to handle those problems…
Ranveer: Shivaay is hundred percent correct… The girls are more stronger than the men…
Prinku: (hugs Ranveer) It’s not like that… Both are equally strong… The difference is how we are handling those problems… And our guys are not weak… Their mental strength are higher too…
Shivaay: This is what we are telling about woman… They won’t let us down at any cost…
Annika: Enough of praising us… I’m feeling embarrassed…
Shivaay: (thinks something) Ranveer, does that means that Madhu aware of Ishu’s marriage with Dev??
Ranveer: No, Shivaay… She doesn’t aware of that… Because, I and Ishu talked with her parents after she has been taken to operation theatre… If she knew about that, she must have asked us… So, she only knows that Dev was Ishu’s fiance… She doesn’t know that Ishu was married to Dev… (All sigh in relief)
Voice: Ishana is married??? (ShivIka and PriVeer turn towards the voice and shocked to see Omkara there who his looking at them with hurt filled eyes)
