Thoda Sa Badal Thoda Sa Paani which premiered in August last year went off-air in March 2022. Ishita Dutta who was essaying the role of Kajol Mukherjee in the show opened up on how she and the entire cast felt upon learning about the show wrapping up in just 7 months.
In an interview with BT, Ishita shared, “I think it is definitely very disappointing. When you start a show, the entire cast becomes your family. With the character also you live everyday. Movie schedules are fixed – 1 or 2 months and then it is done. With television, it goes on and on. For 6-7 months I lived as Kajol every single. So when we got to know, we felt very sad.”
She added, “I remember the last day. We had known for a week that the show was ending and on the last day we all were very emotional. Ravi ji, who played my father, came to the sets at night. We were shooting at 12am at night. The scene was, we were looking at a picture of him, because he was no longer in the show. And we were all hugging each other and crying. And when we raised our eyes, we saw him standing for real. We just couldn’t control our emotions and we kept crying. The entire unit was crying. That’s how close we were. But such things happen. What can be said? Barring a few shows, most of the shows are wrapping up early nowadays.”
Ishita is currently shooting for Drishyam 2 and is also working on an upcoming project with husband Vatsal Sheth.
