While Anurag admires Ishani studying, she confides her doubts in him. Their moment is interrupted by Anurag’s mother, who brings out heirloom jewels originally given to her by her mother-in-law, intended for her future daughter-in-law. A hesitant Ishani questions why she is receiving them now, feeling it is not the right time, but Anurag’s mother insists she look at them, offering to have them polished or buy new designs if Ishani dislikes them. Touched, Ishani replies that she could never dislike a gift given with such love.
Simultaneously, a crisis unfolds at Pihu’s home. Shashwat grows frantic when Pihu doesn’t answer her door, revealing to Nandini that Pihu never recovered from her mother Suhasini’s death and that he married Ishani solely for Pihu’s sake. His worst fears are realized when, with the help of a neighbor’s servant, they break in to find Pihu unresponsive with a weak pulse and an empty box of sleeping pills nearby. Declaring there’s no time to wait for an ambulance, Shashwat tries to revive her with water and then carries her to the hospital himself, vowing revenge on Anurag and Ishani if anything happens to her.
At the hospital, Shashwat’s panic peaks as he demands immediate care for Pihu. After she is rushed to the ICU, he threatens to kill Ishani, whom he blames entirely for the incident.
Meanwhile, back at Anurag’s home, the conversation continues as his mother shows Ishani a Banarasi saree also meant for her. Ishani worries that Shashwat could still revoke the divorce, but Anurag assures her he would face social and legal repercussions if he did. Their planning is tempered by Ishani’s concern over neighbors gossiping about her presence, though Anurag insists she stay. She resigns herself to fate, believing it has dictated all the events of her life.
Precap: A police inspector calls Anurag, informing him of Pihu’s suicide attempt and revealing that her family has lodged a complaint against him and Ishani. Shocked, Anurag breaks the news to Ishani.
