Pihu confronts Anurag, asking if he misses Ishani. Anurag evades the question, stating he has no answer and pointing out that since Pihu was the one who called Ishani to the Sengupta house, Ishani is now with them, not him. Pihu challenges him, saying he knows the real reason Ishani stayed and questions why he is fighting with her over it. Anurag defensively asks when he ever fought with her, noting that they don’t even speak anymore.
Pihu insists that Ishani misses him terribly and that she can see Anurag misses Ishani too, questioning why he hasn’t tried to meet her. Anurag shifts the blame, retorting that Ishani is the one who didn’t meet or call him.
Siddharth interjects, trying to mediate. He tells Anurag that Ishani has always spoken highly of him and that they are a perfect couple being torn apart by miscommunication. Anurag dismisses this, claiming it’s too late to fix things and that he isn’t even sure if what they had was love. In a shocking revelation, he announces that he has asked his mother to find a match for him and that he is going to meet a prospective bride that very night. A stunned Pihu asks him to repeat himself.
Anurag defiantly states it’s his life and his decision. Pihu accuses him of acting as if Ishani means nothing to him. He draws a parallel, saying that just as Pihu got married for Shashwat’s sake, he is now getting married for his mother’s. He questions how he can be expected to wait for Ishani when he is clearly not her priority. When Pihu offers to tell Ishani to come to him, Anurag scoffs, saying that would be mere “convenience, not love.” He concludes that his mother wants him to settle down, and he intends to fulfill her dream, insisting he is happy for Pihu and Siddharth before they leave.
Later, at a cafe, Anurag waits for his date. As he sits alone, he is overwhelmed by memories of his time with Ishani, including the painful moment she broke up with him.
The woman arrives and immediately suggests they should be open about everything. She directly asks if he is single. Anurag mechanically replies that he is, which is why he is there. However, the woman perceptively notes that his eyes tell a different story and asks him who broke his heart.
Anurag initially denies that his heart is easily broken and turns the question back on her, asking why she is still unmarried. She explains that she was happy with her mother and her “beta,” showing him a photo of her dog, Johnny. She asks if he is scared off by this, but Anurag denies it. She then tells him he is cute, creating a moment of genuine connection. In this more vulnerable atmosphere, Anurag finally drops his guard and admits that yes, someone did break his heart.
Precap: Anurag’s fiancée meets Ishani and reveals that she is engaged to marry Anurag. Ishani is stunned upon hearing the news.
