Inexplicable Love : A Manan ff (intro)

Hey guys! My story on Manan.

INTRODUCTION

Manik Malhotra – The whole nation knows him as the Rockstar Manik Malhotra. His passion for the music, and his hunger for victory along with his hard work has brought him this high. Little do everyone know about his personal life, about the ‘mystery girl’ in his life who stood by his side no matter what. The girl who sacrificed everything for him and he, who loved her unconditionally.

Nandini Murthy – She is often referred to as The Girl Next Door. Cute, bubbly, talkative, always full of energy and quite a prankster. Nandini never wanted to have the extraordinary life. No fame, no popularity… nothing. All she needed, was love; but when she found it, she had to make the biggest decision of her life; the one that left nothing but only bitter and sweet memories with her.

PROLOGUE

NANDINI ~
“Go away, please! I don’t want this!” I yelled, pushing him away. My heart was shattered into pieces as he tried to pull me into his arms again.
“Give me one good reason for this.” He demanded. Anger and betrayal was evident in his voice.
“I can’t.”
“You have to! You can’t just break up with me. You can’t break our f**king friendship like that.” He said.
“I have no reason, Manik. Just go; leave me alone, please!” I cried. With puffy eyes, swollen lips and a tearstained face, I’m sure, that I looked pretty awful.
He clenched his fists and looked at me, the way he had never looked before. He was angry, for sure. But he looked hurt. Like someone had just robbed his everything. That’s when, I fell weak on my knees, crying my heart out.
The next thing I knew, was that, I was immediately wrapped up in two strong arms, rocking me back and forth. He stroked my hair, trying to calm me down.

“Hey, its okay, baby. Don’t cry, please.” He whispered into my ear.
I felt loved and protected in his embrace. I wished, I could stay there forever, but I quickly pushed those thoughts aside and gently untangled myself from him.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do this. Please, understand.” I said, getting back on my feet. He stayed in the same position, on his knees, and grabbed a hold of my hand, stopping me from leaving.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with you. But I love you, and I can’t live without you. Therefore, I’m begging you to stay, Nandini. Please,” He said in a cracking voice. I could see him falling apart in front of my eyes; and yet, I couldn’t do anything.
“I can’t.” I said, and forcefully pulled my hand away. He got up, trying to put himself together, and just watched me taking all my stuff from his room.
I didn’t bother to take just a last glance at him; for that would only hurt me more. But as I was about to leave, he caught a hold of my wrist, spinning me around. Before I could react, he had me pinned against the wall.
“I’ve had enough of this, Nandini. I want to know, why are you doing this to me? To us?” He asked. I flinched under his grip, trying to get away, but to no avail.
I didn’t answer him. I couldn’t. That day, for the very first time, I saw tears welling up in his eyes. He was so close to crying, and I was the reason behind those tears.
As the silence between us grew, killing the both of us, he finally chose to speak up. On the other hand, I was too ashamed to lock my eyes with him.

“Fine. If that’s what you want, I won’t stop you. Just say, that you don’t love me.” He said.
That was something, which I never wanted to do; for I was totally in love with him. But I bad to do it, for the sake of his life.
“I don’t love you.” I said, not wanting to tear my gaze away from the floor. But he was stubborn, and he tilted my face, forcing me to look at him.
“Say it now; say that you don’t love me.” He made it sound more like a challenge. I took a deep breath, before opening my mouth.
“I don’t love you, Manik.” I said, out loud, looking straight into his eyes. He took a big step back, loosening his grip on me. His hands fell to his sides.

“Go,” He said.
I tried to protest, console him for once, but he didn’t let me. He was fuming.
“Just get lost, Nandini. Go!” He yelled, taking me by surprise.
“I’m sorry. Goodbye, Manik.” I said, as more tears rolled down my face. That night, I left with a heavy heart and an empty soul.
This was it. This was the end of a three year old relationship, and a life long friendship. I had lost the person I admired and loved the most. I was half a heart without him. . .
