Imlie gears up for another generation leap: Sai Ketan Rao set to lead
The popular TV show ‘Imlie’ is poised to embark on yet another captivating journey with a generation leap, and this time, actor Sai Ketan Rao is set to take the reins as the new lead. Sai, who was last seen in ‘Chashni’ talked about it in a recent interview expressing his enthusiasm for returning to the screen and embracing this new chapter. Sai Ketan Rao, a familiar face in the television realm with roles in shows like ‘Mehndi Rachne Wali’ and ‘Chashni’, reflects on his previous stint in ‘Chashni’, which regrettably wrapped up within two months. “The show’s time slot proved to be unfavorable,” Sai explains. “The late-night slot at 11 pm isn’t conducive to TV viewership. People are more inclined to watch movies or web shows during that time. While ‘Chashni’ faced challenges, I acknowledge that the dynamics of entertainment are multifaceted. I’m eager to embark on this new endeavor, entertaining audiences anew. My penchant for diverse roles remains unwavering. Based on what I’ve gathered, the upcoming second generation leap promises captivating intrigue.”
In its previous incarnation, ‘Imlie’ underwent a 20-year leap in August 2022, with Karan Vohra and Megha Chakraborty assuming the lead roles. Prior to this, Fahmaan Khan and Sumbul Touqeer Khan had graced the screens as the show’s central figures. In a previous interview, actor Karan Vohra dispelled rumors of an imminent leap or the show going off air, stating, “Such speculation is unfounded. We recently experienced a leap merely two months ago, and another leap so soon is implausible.”
