Imlie fame Karan Thakur opens up on his decision of taking break from TV shows

Actor Karan Thakur, who is known for her role in the TV show ‘Imlie’ enjoys essaying negative roles. The actor talked about it during a recent interview and shared, “If given choice I would prefer playing a Negative shade on-screen, as I strongly believe that grey shade characters have a wider scope of performance in them. While growing up the villains and their ferocious performance in films and TV shows used to fascinate me more than heros. Gabbar Singh, Mogambo, Kancha Cheena are some of the iconic characters which makes you hate and love them at same time. Also, as a performer a grey shade character has a lot of substance and depth in it. So the actor inside me is keen on essaying one such negative role that audiences remember me for the same. I just hope that my dream comes true soon.”

Karan who made his digital debut with Avrodh 2 is currently focusing on digital projects. Talking about it, he added, “As an actor I’m always open to essay challenging and promising roles irrespective of the medium. TV has great offerings. I’m waiting for those in which the actor inside me can get the maximum screen time and can entertain the audience. Currently I’m happy doing digital series because the roles offered to me are very exciting and gives me an opportunity to connect with the audience and allows me to showcase my acting skills. I don’t mind doing television again after entering the OTT world, provided it’s an impactful character with prominent screen space. Though like any actor even I aim to star in a Bollywood film.”

Karan is also known for appearing in shows like ‘Bepanah Pyaarr’, Bhagyavidhaata, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha (S2), Half Marriage, and Badi Door Se Aayen Hain among others.
