Laksh’s Dream
Laksh was sitting over a bench in the park. He was resting against someone’s back . Wait it was a girl and they had earphones on each of their ear. They shared a icecream as they listened to a song. That girl was wearing a parrot green long salwar with long maroon earrings. Her free hair teased his eyes. He surely liked her long hair not when it poked his eyes. Her golden metal bangles tingled as she passed the cone to him. You know Laksh I like it when we spend moments like this. Laksh had a urge to see her face. So he turned to her. But he woke up from his dream.

The girl in green lifted her head up slowly. Sunrays graced her face and she was none other than ragini. Poor laksh is not going to realise it any sooner. Now back to the story]
Laksh woke up. He wanted to lay on his bed for a few more minutes as it was a holiday. His mom came into his room and woke him up. She wished him a good morning and wanted him to buy some groceries as his friend’s daughter was dropping by. He grumbled as he stood up. Thats my sweet boy his mother chirped as he got the list and cash from her. He went to the nearest supermarket and started picking up all the necessities. He was searching for jaggery and was not sure of where it was. He asked around and headed to the place pointed to. As he picked the jaggery packet he heard a voice,” Rishi I need the bigger one. No I want that Big pack else I wont come anywhere”. That voice kind of sounded familiar. Like the voice of a spectacled girl named ragini. He moved to see who it was. It was ms.cutiespecs and there was the guy from the icecream shop.
Ragini noticed me and tolded something to that guy as she walked towards me. She called me, “Laksh a favor. Do you live here? If so can you please tell me where this address is”. I was too irritated and told her, “Not sure but you can always find it along with your boyfriend there” and left. Ragini wanted to retort that it was her brother. But it didn’t matter. No it matters she thought and followed the trail but he was gone. She sighed as she went back to her brother.
What’s it sis? Who’s that guy he questioned. Well he’s a classmate of mine and I think he doesn’t know the way. You think he smirked sure sis let’s go. They billed few sweets as they were going for her father’s friend home to pass some souveniers that her brother bought from his trip upon father’s command. Why father? He never does this she sighed as she and her brother hopped on to his bike and went off.
Laksh went to his home. He was so grumpy. Guess he was her boyfriend. But that guy didnt seem to deserve her. “What am I thinking?” retorted his mind. He handed over the groceries to his mom. He informed her that he wont be coming down as he feels a little tired. His mother nodded as she started cooking for her guests. Laksh was listening to music but he was constantly reminded of her. So he decided to go to his balcony. He stood on his balcony to his utter suprise he saw ms.cutiespecs and the guy from earlier standing below my house. I went inside before she could see me.
Ragini Pov
I swear I saw Laksh by the balcony but where he did he go. One second he was here and the next gone. Have I started hallucinating him. Do I have? My thoughts came to an cut at my brother’s call to go in and I followed. The door was opened by a sweet lady she looked so beautiful literally. She welcomed us with a hug. It felt warm. I smiled as i stepped into the porch.
Voiceover: “Little did I know that it was going to be my future in law’s home and I was going to live here with a person whom I fell in love with and call him Husband “.
She gave us sweet intro, usually I would feel uncomfortable at other people’s home. But thanks to her it didn’t feel that much awkward. Her name was Mithra. Mithra aunty was quite cool. My brother went off with Rakesh uncle to the upstairs. I was left alone with mithra aunty so she took me to the kitchen as she started making sweets we started chatting.
Laksh Pov
I knew I saw her. I was sure of it. Was she the guest mom was talking about. I guess I could ask mom about it. So I went down to the kitchen. To my suprise ms.cutiespecs was chatting with my mother. Wait what she was doing here. She was helping my mother. That sight made me wobbly a bit. I decided to go silently to my room but my mother called me . So much for going unnoticed I sighed as I went near her she waved me over. She told me to cut veggies I groaned but did it anyways this lady can literally make me do anything. Ms.Cutiespecs was looking at me in shock. My mom started to introduce her but I cut off saying she was my classmate. My mom went hypo over it and asked her about my behavior in my class. Momsss I sighed.
Ragini’s Pov
I was pretty shocked to see Laksh there and he is cutting the vegetables. Never expected him to be a momma’s boy though. But that was kind of cute since he obeyed her like a little puppy. A puppy yes the cutest one. Ahhhaaa cute my mind cut off me of my thoughts. Wait is that even possible at this point I no longer believe which is possible. I told his mom about a few times he got scolded by the staffs and the delusions of him being cool. He cut by saying that he was indeed cool. I continued telling her about how he helped me with the paperwork that day.
So much more and mithra aunty too shared lots of funny and weird incidents about him. For example when laksh was little he was fascinated about birds and wished to fly. One day after coming back home from school he told his mom that he has found his favorite bird and he was going to dress up like that for fancy dress competition. Guess what he dressed up as a crow. A crow that had horns. He added the horns part since he thought it was cool.
Laksh told his mom not to embrass him and gave her the vegetables he cut. His mom told him to stay and help a little more and he obliged. How irony it was. My mind itched to see that crow picture of his. Lunch was ready and we were in the dining table. Rishi came and sat beside me. Laksh who was all bubbly now was a bit off. His father introduced my brother to him. “Son he’s Rishi my friends son and she’s ragini his sister “. Laksh’s face glowed a bit wonder why? I saw him looking at his phone. Maybe cathy messaged him she thought that made her a bit gloomy.
Laksh Pov
I was irritated to the core so I pretended to look at my phone when my father gave me his intro. My heart leaped at the word sister. Guess I was wrong but why does that make me happy. Strange he thought. He knew he was excited for seeing her fall off. The higher she goes the deeper he will discover her.
Voiceover:” It was stupid of me to regard those feelings as something else and I regretted it very much later on… Wish I had realised it much sooner so I could have loved her a little longer “.
Present
Rishi asked Laksh about how his studies were going and what was his plan upon future. As he explained his plans to brother in law he wondered what his wife’s aims were. A startup that’s pretty interesting wish you luck brother in law but you know what my sis could be used as the helper since she’s your wife and save money. Rishi I heard it and you are dead ragini said as she chased him. He was caught so easily ahh these siblings never ceased to put on their love show. He spoke with ragini and I gave them privacy as I headed to my room.
I remembered her brother saying to take care of his sister, though this marriage happened at immature age he told me to never let her down in maturity. If I did he would tie me up and beat me down. Nahh Nahh Brother in law not going to give you the chance since I love her and it was high time that I made it clear to other’s as well. Because she’s mine and I have no shame in admitting it to the world.
Ragini that guy laksh he loves you I can see it in his eyes go tell him about your one sided love. Her brother’s words were circling in her mind. Her brother knew she loved him one sided ahh the sibling connection. But about laksh he was wrong as he loved someone else…
Ragini went up to their room and saw laksh sleeping soundly on the bed she closed the windows and lowered the ac to 19 as he would catch cold over 22. She sat beside him and covered him with a quilt. She whisphered ,”It’s so tiring laksh I cant stay like this. What did I do to deserve this life, a life without your love”. She started weeping silently. Laksh was awake and he didn’t want her to feel awkard so let her ramble her heart out.
She continued , “I have loved you for a long time laksh yet you still couldnt understand my love. I dont want to be a third person in your life. I wish to be the only one. Since I know that you love somebody else I could never gather my courage to say my love for you . Do you know my love for you is ‘ I could leave you for your happiness even if I’m hurt'”. She placed a peck on his cheek as she muttered guess I would never have the chance to do this when you are awake. She slipped beside him and fell asleep.
Laksh found himself crying once he made sure she has fallen asleep he got out of the bed and kneeled beside her face. You know what my love for you is to cherish our love and never leave you ever and never will let you go away from me. He smiled as he realised that she too loves him. He felt too giddy and climbed onto the bed.
He was thinking for long before he put his arms around her. She was his wife afterall and the girl he loved too….
