Shivaayo just gasped and looked at her. She was trembling. By words and by actions.
“Wo.. wo.. green.. green tea was hot. So hot, So i dropped it. Sorry ?” she was so tensed and worried. She tucks her hair behind and kneels down to pick up the broken porcelain pieces.
He feels something fishy.. yet the beauty that he was witnessing before him distrated him from his thoughts.
Suddenly “Ahhh” she hisses and wiggles her palm. He jumps and runs to her.
“Cant you be careful. Is it so important to clean it immedietly?? You could have used a broom. See what you have done. Is it paining?” He asks all concerned.
Anika just smiles seeing him that way. She remembers him hugging her yesterday in the lift just because she was afraid of elevators.
“How cute is he?? He is concerned about me both when drunk and at sober. What if if he has the same feelings like i do?” Suddenly she hops into reality and looks at him.
“Which world are you in?? I am worried here..is it okay now.. or is it still paining” He says it bit angry.
“No it’s not paining. The blood that’s oozing out, It feels like honey is dripping over the wound. Idiot !!!! It is paining !!!” She says and starts with her drama to see whether he has feelings for her or not.
“Omg.. wait.. ill come !!” He says and rushes inside his room for an ointment.
“This guy must be having a medicine shop inside his room. ? He has an ointment for every injury yaar.!!” She says out loud and happily waits for him to come.
Once he comes out of the room..she fakes a sad face, pouts and whines.
He feels sad and gently holding her palm he applies it.
Vicky comes out all excited. Though still in his night wear he comes running and hugs Shivaay. “I heard you were drunk again” he whispers to shivaay still hugging.
“Shut uppppp” Shivaay whispers back and rolls his eyes with blush plastered on his face.
Anika clears her throat and shuttles her eyes to both Shivaay and vicky. She gives them a ‘What’s happening?’ Kind of look.
“Gooood morning shivaay !!!” He says and again hugs shivaay.
“Anyone can hug anyone to wish a good morning” Vicky justifies his hug.
Anika sings “Maa da ladla….” and walks away.
Rolling his eyes.. shivaay now looks at vicky with a smile. “Look at you all smiling !!!! It’s been 4 years since i saw you like this. And the date?? What happened that night??” Vicky asks. Shivaay starts briefing.
~FLASHBACK~
Shivaay sits in the table booked for them. He sees a ketchup bottle there on his table. He quickly takes it and places it on the next empty table for defence. There comes Nainika a few minutes later with a pretty smile and gorgeous gown.
“Hello shivaay!” She forwards her hand with a peppy voice. He reciprocates with a tight smile and makes her sit. They both start ordering.
Suddenly a light melody music starts to play in the dance hall nearby.
“Come on shivaay, let’s dance before we eat. I insist, please. And this is my favourite music. Come on… We’re dancing..and no more arguments” she speaks like a express train and shivaay was wondering as to who argued right now.
Shivaay perfectly does his assigned dance moves. “Hmm!! You are a great dancer i beleive Mr. Shivaay” Nainika asks as she follows his steps.
“Not me. My trainer is” He says making Nainika chuckle.
“And i guess, your casuals is making you look good than your usual official three piece suit” She compliments.
“All thanks to my trainer” Shivaay shrugs his shoulder making Nainika curious now.
Later at the date table,
“I’ll have a spaghetti” she orders.
“I’ll have Aloo puri” he orders.
She notices the smile on his face.
“What’s so fascinating about Aloo puri?? She asks with a curious face.
“To be frank.. my crush likes it” he says honestly. While Nainika smiles, and out of all the date-night topics to be discussed she was interested to hear about his crush.
“So, tell me about your crush” She starts and he aimlessly continues talking about her except the fact that she was his roommate.
“She loves Aloo puri. She’ll do whatever you ask her to do if you buy her some Aloo puri. And and.. she eats icecream in the middle of the night. She’s such a stunner. Stepping into banglore for the first time and within two weeks she already has two jobs. Mannnnn!! She’s unbelievable. She loves Game of thrones.. she even sometimes has a dog-talk with my friend’s dog..” He kept trailing and he continued even after the food was served.
Nearly an hour later, “… shivaay shivaay.. breath!!!! You told me she was your crush right?” She asks.
“Hmm.. i felt myself flying off the ground when she’s around. Vicky told me that it was Crush” Shivaay says with a childish smile.
“Cant you see??” She asked with happy eyes. “See what?? He asked raising his eyebrows.
“That it’s love and not crush??” She was more excited than him. “What???” He was confused.
“Areyy duffer… You have changed your eating menu and started eating Aloo puri. You have worn casuals just because she wanted you to wear this on your date, and and.. cant you see yourself turning all happy when it’s talking about her topic. It’s love Shivaay. And it’s been an hour here and you kept talking about her non-stop. I guess you dont even know my full name” She says and chuckles.
Shivaay realises his blunder and..”My goodness Nainika.. we are on a date and i’ve been talking about someone else. Tell me.. what do you..”
Cut by her in middle, “Not someone else… someone you are meant to be with. So Let’s just make this a blind date. And here is where i leave you. Mr. Shivaay singh oberoi, it was indeed a pleasure meeting you and knowing about you love. I beleive im just unlucky tonight. You have already sold your heart to someone else. Wishing you all the best. Better make it fast or you might end up growing a long beard.” She winks and departs.
Shivaay just kept thinking his moments with her and a huge smile brightens up his face.
Incident that happened 4 years back, is now never in his thoughts. “Vicky was right. Love doesnt need two weeks time. It was love afterall. We both wrongly guessed it to be Crush. And i was not even aware of it. Damnn!!! It feels so good to be in love” He takes a deep breath and sighs in relief.
“Waiter.. two bottles of Beer” He orders.
(FLASHBACK ENDS)
“And i dont remember anything after that” Shivaay says scratching his head.
“When Anika gets to know that you drink only when you fall in love, Maybe she’ll get to know why you ruined your date.” Vicky says and hits shivaay’s stomach.
Shivaay chuckles, “Who told you that i love Anika?” He asks biting his upper lip.
“Is there a need to say?? It’s clearly hammered on your face” Vicky says and smacks Shivaay’s back.
Shivaay widely smiles and burrows his face in his hands.
“So mission Shivika is still ON” Vicky says and shivaay gives a ‘what are you talking about’ look.
“Shivaay and Anika= shivika??” Vicky does the ‘logic’ reaction.
“We should now get to know what happened after your date. And if Anika has feelings for you” Vicky says and gives Shivaay an eye.
