Recap: The new year commences. Kunj’s friend Sheila comes and Twinkle feels jealous seeing the close bonding of the two. Kunj invites Sheila for dinner.
EPISODE 44
Twinkle was helping Usha set make food and set the table for dinner. Kunj walks into the kitchen.
Usha- Kunj, you seem happy, what’s the occasion? Are you happy that you are going to eat Twinkle’s food again?
Twinkle smiles.
Kunj- Are nahi mom. Actually, I’m excited that Sheila is coming over for dinner.
Twinkle’s smile fades away.
Kunj- You know, I am meeting her after so long, we have so many things to talk about.
Usha- Ha beta. When is she coming?
Kunj checks his watch.
Kunj- Omg, I should be picking her up now. Ok bye mom. Twinkle, prepare the dinner nicely. I have a reputation you know.
Kunj runs out while Usha laughs. Twinkle fumes.
Usha- You know Twinkle, every time those two are together, they go crazy.
Twinkle- Ma, they are close right?
Usha- Yes very. Ok Twinkle, you go set the table. Sheila should be here now.
The Next Scene…
Sheila comes over and the whole Sarna family sit for dinner. Kunj sits next to Sheila while Twinkle is left with the seat opposite of Kunj. Twinkle picks at her food while she watches Kunj feed Sheila and have fun.
Manohar- What happened Twinkle? Not hungry?
Mahi teases Twinkle.
Mahi- Papa, I think Twinkle is going on a diet. I think she is gaining some weight and becoming too heavy for Kunj right?
Kunj- What? No, Twinkle your not gaining weight. Teri kamar meri baho mein ekdam perfect hai.
Everyone giggles while Twinkle blushes.
Sheila- Well, if Kunj is saying that Twinkle fits perfectly into his arms, then problem solved right? Don’t worry Twinkle, we were just teasing you. Vaise, aunty and uncle, I wanted to take Twinkle out and show her around the village. Is that okay?
Manohar- Of course.
The Next Scene….
Shila, Kunj, and Twinkle were walking in the cool night air. Twinkle was amazed by the serene beauty and silence of the night. She wrapped a shawl around herself and looked around amazed. Kunj looked and Twinkle lovingly. (Zaalima from Raes plays in bg).
Jo teri khatir tadpe pehle se hi
Kya usey tadpana o zaalima, o zaalima

Sheila notices Kunj looking at Twinkle.
Sheila- You love her a lot right?
Kunj- More than I can say.
Aankhen marhaba, baatein marhaba
Main sau martaba deewana huaa
Mera na raha jab se dil mera
Tere husn ka nishana hua
Twinkle walked up to a lake and looked at the fireflies lighting up the night. Kunj stood next to her and watched as her hair fluttered in the wind.
Jiski har dhadkan tu ho Aise dil ko kya dhadkana O zaalima, o zalima..
Twinkle looks at Kunj.
Twinkle- What?
Kunj- You.
Twinkle- Why are you looking at me? Don’t you have Sheila?
Twinkle walks away, leaving Kunj baffled.
Kunj thinks- Ohhhh, so that explains your attitude today. Mrs. Kunj Sarna, you have become jealous.
Sheila- Kunj, is Twinkle okay? What happened to her?
Kunj- Shiela, Twinkle is still a child. She is so innocent. She thinks there is something between us.
Sheila- What?
Sheila laughs- Kunj, did you tell her what our relationship is? You are like my brother. Kunj, I even celebrate raksha bandhan with you.
Kunj laughs- Twinkle is crazy.
Sheila- She loves you too much. Now go to her. Go!
Back at Kunj’s house…
Kunj- Twinkle wait!
Twinkle was pacing back and forth in their room.
Kunj- Twinkle…
Kunj turns Twinkle towards him. He lifts her face and looks into her eyes.
Kunj- Twinkle, I love you and only you.
He bent down, his lips against her cheek, brushing it lightly. That light touch sent shivers through her nerves, shivers that made her whole body tremble.
Kunj whispered- If you want me to stop, tell me now.
Twinkle didn’t speak, but closed her eyes and felt Kunj’s touch. He brushed his mouth against her forehead.
Kunj- How about now?
Twinkle clenched the side of her dress.
He traced the line of her cheekbone.
Kunj- Now?
Twinkle could feel the warmth of Kunj’s breath on her cheek. Kunj looked at Twinkle’s closed eyes and then at her lips, her lower lip trembling a little from the gentleness of his touch. He leaned gently held her cheek and came closer. Twinkle anticipated for the feel of Kunj’s lips on her own. When no such thing happened, she opened her eyes to see Kunj standing in front of her with his arms crossed against his chest.
Kunj- Ur promise. We won’t consummate our marriage now.
Twinkle held Kunj’s collar and pulled him towards herself. The two lips met for the first time. He kissed her gently, but it wasn’t gentleness she wanted, not now, not after all this time. Twinkle knotted her fists in his shirt. Kunj smiled against her lips and then wrapped his arms around her petite waist, pulling her closer to him. Twinkle pulled back and slowly let go of her breath with closed eyes.
Twinkle- Who said kissing would mean consummating a marriage?
Kunj smiles- So, should we do it again?
