Happily Everafter? episode 32

Kartik’s POV

I had my friends gathered, Varun, Paras, Manas. They had all turned up with their wives. We mingled with each other, but it was all too cautious. Any of the women didn’t know the other, they tried mingling, but none of them were fast friends.

We guys were having an awkward talk too, firstly because they were present. Because it is a bit weird to discuss your foolishness of college in front of your spouses. Not for me, Naira was well aware of anything major in my life, a crush or two were the only things there were to be afraid. Which I don’t think is going to be a major problem.

We decided to start a game, a competition would be good to get these women open up. After all, we guys had shared our lives together. And these women were our lives now. Both deserved each other.

We decided on “Never have I ever.” With a twist.

Paras said, “OK guys. So get us know better, especially our darlings to know better. We are going to do this. So all of us know what is never have I ever. Just that, you would have to drink when you think your partner has. And then your partner will drink, if your answer is correct.”

“We will start with ladies. So first question, have they dated before?” He asked.

Naira knew I had. She even knows my first girlfriend, it was her own sister after all. She drank, and all my friends were shocked. Because even they didn’t know this.

Manas asked, “What the hell is she speaking buddy? You never dated did you?” and to answer their question I drank. It was a normal fruit punch. I had thought they would have kept hard drink, but they knew I wouldn’t like it.

Then the same question applied to guys, and I didn’t drink. Naira drank, I was right. I was her first. But I knew it.

Paras asked the next question, “Gone out alone, without informing anyone at home.” Poor guys didn’t even know, what kind of question they asked. We have both ran from our houses.

Both of us drank at both our turns. She had leaned into me sometime back, and I was running my fingers over her arm. And her hand was creeping up on my chest. She was back in sherni mode, from the meek cat one she was a while back. Plan of game was working.

The game continued on well into the night, when suddenly she jumped on my lap. Not that I was complaining, but she usually refrained from doing PDA. She had herself said, she hated that. What was she thinking?

“Naira, what happened? Should be go back?” she just shake her head, and leaned for a kiss. It was then I smelled her breath. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to do that?

“Naira, wait here. I’m going to have a talk with these foolish guys. You wait here ok?” I told her and went. I wanted to give a piece of my mind to these guys. Mixing alcohol in her drink? She has never drank any, no hard drinks. I had told them. If they wanted, they could have drank themselves? Why give it to her?

I took the guys with me, keeping the women wondering. They told me it was a mistake. They never intended for it to reach her. Some of their drink must have reached her somehow.

I rolled my eyes, it was no point to talk to them. I decided to get back to her before she does something too grave. When I reached back to the sitting area, I saw her dancing. She was trying to pull all the ladies with her in it. She had this big smile plastered on her face, and she looked like the doll she is.

On seeing me, she jumped onto me again. Catching hold of her, I made a futile attempt of trying to take her back to hotel. And all the while trying to stop her from kissing me. There were too many people watching for my liking.

“Why won’t you kiss me?” She whined. “Now even I won’t kiss you. I’m going now.” Saying this she started walking out of the hotel. And I ran with her.

We walked on random roads, I mean she walked and I followed her. She was half way dancing, half way walking, that is when she wasn’t stumbling. I tried to get her closer to me, but she was pushing me away.

“Mendak, stop your tat tar tar.” She said. “Let me do whatever I want to. Don’t pull me again and again.”

“Naira. Let’s go to the hotel and you can do whatever you want to.” I tried to get her listen to me.

“Shush mendak. Shut up. Don’t be a joy killer. I want to sit here on the road. I won’t go to the hotel.” She said.

“Naira, I’m going to pick you up. And we will go to hotel.” I said that to her firmly. While she just ran away. I caught up with her once again. And held her very firmly this time. While she kept on saying let me go.

I cannot make her do anything when she is sane, what am I supposed to when she is intoxicated. I tried all the vain attempts to get her listen. She had filled her cheeks with air now and was staring at me, like she will kill me. If she thought it was going to scare me away, I just picked her up. And started walking to a the car.

I made her sit on the passenger seat, and settled myself in driver one. Locking her seat belt while she gave me killer stares. Good thing she’ll forget this in the morning, otherwise she would kill me for treating her like a baby.

She was trying to get out that belt, but her actions weren’t coordinated enough to make that a success. When we reached the hotel, I tried to carry her again, when she started hitting my chest. I grabbed both her hands in my wrist and put a finger on her mouth. “Shush. Enough now. Shut up.”

She had her eyes widened when I said that, and surprisingly she did shut up. “Good.” I said. It was that easy, and carried her to our room.

I put her on the bed, and started to remove her clothes so that she could sleep peacefully, when she really had different intentions in her mind. She was prying on buttons of my shirt. When I pushed her back, on to the bed, and made her sleep laying down next to her.

She curled up in my chest, while I ran my hands down her back, to put her into her happy place.
