Happily Everafter? episode 30

In the night, we had our crew lit up a bonfire. It was the day of Holi. The day of victory of good over evil, victory of faith, victory of love. We lit up the bonfire, to signify loss of evil. It had historic importance in Hindu mythology.

We were on Skype, celebrating my first Holi with Goenka family. Dadi had taken proper timing from pandit ji to celebrate this festival here in Europe. Turning around the bonfire we did our part of ritual. They were going to do it later, it was only evening then there. After completing our rounds around the bonfire, giving it our offerings, we prayed to the almighty, to keep us away from evil, give us strength to fulfil all the promises and responsibilities to each other and our family.

After which we took blessings of our elders. “Come home soon our darlings, it’s empty without both of you.” Dad said. Kartik also missed family, I knew.

“Thank you Naira, you united our family. We have the happiest holi in this house in a very long time, thank you for giving all our colours back. Now come back home soon too, so that we can all celebrate together.” Dadi said. I really didn’t have an answer to that. I did what I could do, smiled.

Kartik said, “Didn’t I tell you dadi? She’ll grow over you? She’s the best.” Giving me a slight push.

“Yes. You did Kittu. And yes she is.” She said.

So our part of pooja was done. After closing the chat we went back to our room on the cruise. He was out talking to the crew about the reaching time in Rome tomorrow and I wanted to celebrate right now. It was holi after all.

I got dressed in the white Indian suit I had carried, a long anarkali dress. Arranged for some colours. And got on my ghungroos. It has been a long time I had seen them.

When he entered I played the music and began dancing.

Mohe rang do laal, was the song. Listening to the music, he knew what I wanted to. It had been a while he saw me dancing anyway. I danced to the music passionately while he watched mesmerised.

I was wearing the same dress that I had wore, when he saw me dancing the first time. That was the first time he liked something about me. First time he liked me.

Just as the music was about to end. I carried a plate of red colour to him. He picked some colour and put it over my face gently. I didn’t bother with the gentle part, I scrubbed the colour on him and began to rush away. He grabbed my wrist and tried to pull me closer, when I went back, signing a not now by my finger. He sighed no, and came close to me. Pulling me closer, twisting my wrist gently over my back.

He ran his fingers down my arm. It brought me to shiver, sending electricity down my body. He picked me up and carried me to the pool in the backside of cruise. It was a small one, but perfect for us.

Gently pushing my chin up, he asked for my permission. He knew I was his, but that one no, even by gestures had forced him to ask me. I closed my eyes, and gave miniscule nod. That was all the invitation he needed, as he pulled me closer to his chest, and leaned to grab my lips with his, kissing me slowly at first, increasing its intensity gradually. His tongue was at my lower lip, demanding entrance, I obliged. And we both started exploring each other. Not that this was our first time, but every time it felt like it was something new.

We didn’t leave each other for a long time, possibly our longest. When it was impossible to continue I pulled back, and he feasted on my neck, his fingers working on the hooks of my dress behind. I had my hands surrounded on his neck. Pulling him back to my lips, I began working at his shirt. Soon we were undressed, inside the cold water. He pulled me closer to the edge of pool, and settled down on the stair, bringing me over him.

All in all it turned out to be another memorable night.

Next day we played chess on cruise. I was a amateur in that game. And kartik was an expert or so he said because it’s not a tough job to prove your expertise in front of an amateur. In the end I was too bored, it definitely wasn’t my cup of tea. I jumped on him, throwing around the chess pieces. And settled on his lap.

“You are a sore loser. You knew I was winning.” He said. “No you weren’t. I was winning, and I was bored playing to an amateur.” I said. And he smirked.

“Oh right, I’m an amateur, am I?” he asked. With a slightly crooked smile.

“Oh yes! I’m the queen you see. So everyone except me is an amateur.” I replied, with a smug tone.

“Oh my lady is a queen is she? Anything else you have to say? Like you know false bragging.” He said.

“False bragging?? I speak truth always.” I replied giving him the perfect incredulous look.

“That in itself is the biggest lie. You always break the truth to suit your means. And don’t do that big eyes, you look like some maniac.” He said.

I struck my tongue out, and he caught it. What? “I knew you would do that. Do something new darling.” He said while I glared at him. We continued our banter over nothing. This fight was as much a part of relationship as our love.

Authors notes-

Happy holi people. I hope you all had a safe and colourful Holi.

And do tell me how was the chapter. I tried giving a holi special. I actually wanted to describe the dance, but it’s not meant for words. So just replace deepika with shivi, and Kartik is there, romancing her.

And keep watching yrkkh. Wedding begins tomorrow, let’s get on the campaign of setting the best trp these 2 weeks.

Keep commenting. Keep loving kaira, shivin and yrkkh.

Happy reading.
