In early morning.. The time is about 5 a.m. There are little water drops on half blooming flowers. Though many haven’t started their day yet , all the family members in a big house had started their day. They seem to be getting ready quickly to go somewhere. All are dressed in white dresses.
There are three women, middle aged one and two young girls. There is also a one young boy who seems to be elder than other two girls. All are busy doing various things .
” Mom , did you pick flowers ? Where are they? ”
” It’s on that table . Go and see. Did you get oil bottle ? Where are incense sticks ? ”
” I will check ”
Finally they come out of the house. Each one has a small bag with them, with different things in. They get into a car and go somewhere..
The scene ends..
The same family members step into a temple. The surrounding is very calm and quiet. They are the first people to get into the temple on this day.
All of them go to meet Chief Monk of the temple. Chief Monk preaches Dharma to them. They all listen with mental satisfaction.
” We get results according to what we do . If we do good , the result will also will be good. If we do bad , the result will also be bad. We name this as ‘ karma ‘ . None can escape from karma. It comes behind us as a shadow…. “
After sometime , preach gets finished. All the members of the family worship the Chief Monk and get up. They go to Vihara ( place where the statue of Lord Buddha is placed ) and worship. They offer flowers and light lamps. Then they sit down in Vihara , to meditate . All close their eyes except the young boy. He opens his eyes and gets thinking.
” May this good deed be yours dad. It’s been an year and I have kept my promise. I took care of mom and my sisters well. I didn’t let them feel your absence. But all this have a limit too. I can’t be happy in front of them as I remember you , each time I see them . I know I couldn’t be a good son for you when you were with us but .. ”
He bursts into tears . He silently cries . Finally he gets up and goes out without any noice..
