Ashwini found it very difficult to sleep at night as she constantly tossed on the bed thinking about the retreating figure of the girl at their restaurant and the familiar voice……all of a sudden she realised that it was Sai’s voice. She felt that finally felt happy that destiny too wanted to reunite Sai and Virat. She quickly rushed to Virat’s room and woke him up…and told that she had seen Sai. Virat felt that his mother would have seen a dream and that’s why she is speaking about Sai……he told her that she should not imagine Sai as he couldn’t find Sai in a year and all of a sudden it’s not that Sai would appear out of blue…….each time he went to Gadchiroli secretly hoping to find her and meet her he came back empty handed with the hope of meeting her diminishing little by little…..now he had lost all hope of meeting her . All he could do is pray for her well being wherever she was and hope that she was fine and happy. But Ashwini told that she was not dreaming and it was Bappa’s indication of reuniting two long lost lovers. Virat knew it was pointless in arguing with his mother and just kept nodding his head. The next morning he was casually walking in Goa to catch drug peddlers when he saw Usha Maushi buying vegetables and happily chatting with a few ladies…..
He realized that his Aai was not dreaming but was speaking the truth. A ray of hope started building in his heart but he knew he would have to carefully follow her so that he could meet his love soon but alas destiny played it’s cruel fate ……there was a wedding procession on the road and he lost Usha Maushi’s sight. He felt low but decided to find out about Sai. He then went to the police station where he decided to investigate the matter. He learnt that there was only one government medical college in Goa which was the best AND many top students had passed out from the college. He asked his subordinates that they should go routine inspection in the college . The subordinates agreed and quickly got into the police jeep. In the jeep Virat kept praying to Bappa to help him meet Sai at least once. Looking at her he would atleast get back the zest to live life that he had lost. They reached the college and met the Dean……who even invited Virat for the annual function of the college where the students would be honoured for academic as well as extra curriculum achievements. Virat obliged to the Dean and sent a thank you prayer to Bappa for listening to his wish. Later when he was in the hospital wing…..He heard a familiar laughter and the voice shocked him. He turned around and was lost in the direction of the voice. He finally saw his Sai. The Sai whom he had been searching like a madman for a year was right in front of him talking to a girl and a boy and laughing at something hilarious the boy was telling. He was surprised looking at her dressed in jeans and a beautiful pastel shirt. Her hair was short and he realized that she had chopped off her beautiful locks . Nevertheless she looked pretty even in this new hairstyle…..He kept looking at her drinking her sight and smile which gave a sense of relief to his heartache after a year. He decided that he would follow her and find out about her whereabouts but at that time he received an unknown call which shocked him completely. He quickly left from the hospital and went back to the quarters.
Virat had received call from Ramu Kaka a house help in his headquarters who called him up as his mother had fainted . He rushed to the headquarters where he saw a man in white coat examining his mother’s pulse and was prescribing some tablets unable to hold back his emotions he ran upto the doctor and asked why did his mother fall unconscious , was she alright and did she have to undergo some tests….the doctor asked him to take a deep breath and told that his mother had fainted has her blood pressure rose sharply…He told it maybe due to some shocking news and gave him the prescription….He even have him a number and told that it was of his student’s and that she would come to check on his mother as he would be out of town for a few days. He told that his student is an excellent doctor and she was already informed about the case. Virat nodded and thanked the doctor. The doctor smiled at him and left. Later Virat thanked Ramu Kaka too. He went near Ashwini’s bedside and asked if she was feeling better she nodded ……
He asked her what happened all of a sudden as she was fine in the morning and all of a sudden her blood pressure shot up. She told that Bhavani had called up and had asked them to go to Chavan Nivas as Samrat had returned home. And also he wanted to divorce Patralekha. Hearing that his brother who had been MIA…..finally had returned home. He quickly booked tickets for Nagpur and rang up in his police station where he told his subordinates that due to some emergency he would not be able to attend his duties. They agreed. Ashwini and Virat lelf for the airport and quickly boarded their flight to Nagpur. During his journey he knew that he would have to reveal the entire truth to his Jeeva and make sure that he abides by the final decision his brother takes. He knew that Bhavani would try and manipulate Samrat regarding his decision to divorce Patralekha. The moment they entered Nagpur….the feeling that one gets after going back to one’s own home was the emotion Virat was experiencing. He was anxious as well as excited to meet his brother. The cab stopped at the huge mansion which read CHAVAN NIVAS! He and Ashwini quickly went to the front door where they were welcomed by ………taunts. In hindi there is a proverb that kutte ki pooch tedi ki tedi hi rehti hain. It means that when a person tries to straighten the tail of a dog no matter how many ever efforts he puts in…..in the end it curls up. Similarly his Aunt,his Father, his younger Uncle and Aunt had not changed their habit of not welcoming the family member without giving them a dose of taunt. Usually it is An Apple a day keeps the Doctor Away but in his family the case is……A day without taunts is a day where people cannot eat food. Bhavani as usual started taunting Ashwini by telling that she was an old woman who was simply wasting her son’s hard earned money…..what was the need to divorce Ninad………at least if she had stayed back they would have taken care of her. Virat could no longer tolerate the insults Bhavani threw at his mother and told her that it was because of his mother that he had been able to study hard…..had she not prepared coffee for him at night when he used to stay up late at nights for his UPSC preparation he would not have been an IPS officer. Had she not divorced Ninad then she would have still been a slave in her own house where Bhavani and her gang would treat her badly and instead of taking good care of her they would constantly humiliate her . Bhavani and her Chellas were shocked. Hearing the commotion, Samrat and Mansi walked down and were surprised to see Ashwini and Virat. Samrta quickly went to Ashwini and took her blessings while Virat took Mansi’s blessings. Mansi hugged Ashwini and asked about her wellbeing. Though Virat tried to hug Samrat, Samrat stopped him and said that there was no relationship between them as the brotherly relationship they both shared was no longer there and ceased to exist the day Virat hid the truth from him. At that moment Patralekha and her parents walked in. Patralekha was happy seeing Virat and felt that soon her life would be filled with happiness as she would marry Virat divorcing Samrat and since Virat was a divorcee the family would have no problem in their marriage. Patralekha walked upto Ashwini and tried to act like a typical Bahu and seemed her blessings but Ashwini stepped back. Patralekha was angry …She rudely asked Ashwini why didn’t she give her blessings to which Ashwini told that she didn’t want to bless a woman whose one sided love and obsession lead to her sons heartbreaks and miseries. Virat knew it was time to reveal the truth to clear the msiunderstandings.
