Chapter 4
Present time (in airplane)
(Announcement ) Passengers please pay attention. .the flight is soon going to land on bangalore airport. . please fasten your seat belts…
Swara’s trance broke hearing the announcement.
The flight lands with a screech sound and an announcement is heard.
Air hostess: Good morning everyone, this is Sunita Shravan and welcome to Saint Carmel airport, Bangalore(imaginary name). The time is 9.22 am. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to serve you all.
All the passengers started to leave to the area where luggage is being dispatched.
Swara’s sight stops at a mother daughter duo hugging eachother in happiness with tears flowing from their eyes due to ecstasy.
She remembers all the time when her mother used to hug her lovingly and she also remembers her unbreakable trust towards her but now she gets worried about her that what will be her mother’s condition knowing that she is not there in kolkata and she has left or can say not in her reach and also had not informed her that where is she going, how is she going and most important question is why had she gone leaving her behind.
A drop of tear escapes her eyes and she immediately wipes her tears with the pristine white handkerchief in her hand . Watching the soft white piece of fabric in her hand she remembers all the time when sanskar used to give her a new handkerchief when she would be crying.
Flashback (on diwali day after knowing ragini’s intention)
Swara leaves badi in a hurry taking her bag which was clad with her important documents .
Dadi sees her going and also asks her being worried that swara where are you going in this bullet train speed and why are you holding this camera in your hand .
Swara(being tensed): dadi I will tell you everything after sometime . Right now I need to meet sanskar aur mera MM pahuchna bahut zaroori hai abhi….nahi to sab khatam ho jaega ….sab kharab ho jaega. You just please take care of maa till I come back.
Dadi (blessing her): Thik h beta tu jaa or aake mujhe sab batana aur thari maa ka mai achche se khayal rakhungi tu chinta na kar
Swara reaches MM and from the door what she watches snatched the floor under her feet. She gets rooted over there. She walks back and leaves the mansion. She is walking lifelessly on the road and she reaches the same mandir …the same bridge from where ragini pushed her in the river.
She was not in her senses and was about to fall down when a lady around 40 years old holds her hand and jerks her back.
Lady: (jerking her) swara … What are you doing haa…tell me …
Swara didn’t realizes what she is saying but then she sees her surrounding and understands that she was going to fall down in the river. She stabilizes herself and then look towards the lady to thank her for prevent her from falling down when she recognizes her as one of her teacher in her college who used to teach her music in the 1st year. She was very close to her and they had very good bonding but then she got transferred to a college in Bangalore .
Swara(hugging her tightly): yashita mam… Aap yaha
Yashita: (with tensed voice) mai yaha wo sab to thik hai par tum.. Tum ye kya karne ja rahi thi.. Dimaag to kharab ni ho gya h tumhara.. You were walking lifelessly … What had happened to you.
Swara broke into her arms and hugging her tightly she starts crying vigorously
Yashita: beta kya hua .. Why are you crying so much … And this sindoor and mangalsutra… Are you married?
Swara : (loosing all her energy she sat on the floor crying) mam sab khatam ho gya .
…. Sab …mera sab kuch cheen gya… Kuch..kuch nahi bacha mere pas …(while crying she faints saying with broken voice)
Sab …khatam.. ho ..gya..
Yashita gets shocked seeing swara fainting..she sits down by her side while patting her cheeks: swara… Beta what happened. .. Utho plz ..swara…
Yashita with the help of persons nearby took swara to a taxi and take her to the near by hospital.
There doctor checks her and put an intravenous infusion of saline solution alongwith some medicines.
All the time she was just chanting sanskar’s name in her unconscious state while pleading him to trust her.
Doctor comes out of swara’s ward.
Yashita: doctor what had happened to swara… Is she fine…
Doctor : don’t worry mam she is fine… She got unconscious due to so much of stress. I have given her the required medicines.
She will get conscious in some time.
Yashita: thank you doctor. Can I see her now.
Doctor: yes ofcourse … Well Mrs. Bhattacharya plz call Sanskar
Yashita: who sanskar doctor
Doctor : “sanskar”…this name only she was speaking again and again and she was also saying something like “plz trust me”
Yashita: but doctor… I don’t know who this sanskar is and I also don’t have his contact number
Doctor: ok then lets wait for her to get conscious. .. Now plz Excuse me
Yashita: yaa sure doctor… Thank u so much
After half an hour swara gets conscious and sees her side… There yashita was sitting in the chair beside her reading a magazine.
Swara(gets conscious and with faint voice speaks) : mam how did I reach here….
Yashita: I brought you here beta … You fainted there in that bridge. .. How are you feeling now.
Swara: I am fine mam
Yashita: beta who is this sanskar. .. And why you were pleading him to trust you..
Listening this swara’s eyes widened with shock and then tear gets collected in beautiful eyes.
Swara(while composing herself) : mam sanskar is my husband and I will tell you everything just please give me sometime
Yashita: ok beta
Swara : mam my bag … I need to talk to sanskar
Yashita : here it is…. You talk to him till then I will bring coffee for you
Swara: (with slight smile).ok mam
Swara hurriedly searches sanskar’s name in the call list of her phone .
She was going to dial his number but then thought if he will not pick her call then what she will do.
So she dials his number from hospital’s phone with shivering hands
The call gets connected and ring starts
She recalls the time when she reach MM , there she saw sanskar and laksh fighting and sujata and Ap badmouthing swara and ragini was shedding her crocodile tears.
Her trance broke when she heard Sanskar’s voice from the other side
Sanskar: hello…..(no response) ..hello ..who is there (a drop of tear escapes swara’s eyes)
Swara: (wiping her tears and saying in one breath) sanskar please kuch mat bolna… Bas mai jo kahungi uska ha ya na me jawab dena
Sanskar: hmm
Swara: sanskar do you trust me ….. Kya tum ab bhi mujh par vaise hi vishwas karte ho jaise pehle karte the …. That I will never cheat you… Plz just say yes or no ..sanskar do you still trust me…..
Here I end the chapter. ..
