Gashmeer Mahajani reveals why he is not fond of infinite TV shows

Gashmeer Mahajani who is super excited about his new show Ishq Mein Ghayal wants to balance TV with films. During a recent interview, the actor talked about it and shared that it is the reason why he only wants to take up finite series.

He said, “It’s not that I am looking down upon daily soaps. It is a fantastic zone, which earns you a lot of money and entertains the audience daily. However, I know where I plan to reach in five years and the way I have calculated everything around my career, an infinite show doesn’t fit in. I was offered a daily soap while I was doing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but I had to decline it. I told the makers that they will have to end the hero’s track after 100 episodes, as I won’t continue to do it. I feel that the story of a show runs its course after 100 episodes. That applies even if my character becomes extremely popular in a show. Uske liye main apne career, aage ke characters aur cinema ko chhod kar sirf ek cheez nahi kar sakta.”

After Imlie, it was expected that Gashmeer will take up a solo-hero project, but his new show features him along with Karan Kundrra. When asked if he took these factors into account, the actor replied, “I have never bothered whether it is a solo hero or two-hero project. My priority is my character and what I am getting to do on a show. I should enjoy the process.”

Gashmeer isn’t affected by the growing significance of social media. Talking about it he said, “I just try to sell my character and my show. I want people to watch me in it and not for what I am off-screen. Main kaam karne aaya hoon, rishtedaari nibhaane nahi aaya hoon. Mujhe jo rishte yahaan banaane hain woh professionally banaane hain.”
