[House]
Swara barged into her room and slammed the door. Shomi also ran after her but before she could have reached the door Swara had already closed the door. Shomi knocking continuously…
Shomi (banging the door continuously) – Shona beta! Shona plz open the door…
No answer…
Shomi – What happened Swara? Why are you so upset? Plzz wont you speak to your mom….
There was no answer. Shomi kept on calling for some more time but all was in vain,… inside the scenario was pathetic.
[Swara’s room]
Swara was sitting on the floor with her back rested on the wall. Her face was dug in between her folded knees. She was crying vigorously and the ‘ Friends Forever’ that adored her wrist beautifully was now lying on the floor beside her.
Swara (in sobs) – Why? Why Sanskar!!!! How can you??? How can you even say such words about… No no I never expected this from you… You were my best friend!!!! But you broke my trust…
She was helplessly crying bitterly. Her life was totally upside down. It was playing games with her. And she did not knew how to react?
Swara (was having difficulty in speaking) – I…I thought ki you are the most precious person in my life Sanskar , I was so so sad feeling that I have lost you… It was you who gifted me the most perfect love story I could have ever had… Laksh is just so perfect for me… You had only helped me in getting him and now you only are saying such things! Chiii!!! I hate you Sanskar!!! Suna tumhne… I hate you!!!!
She started screaming.
Swara – Yes, I hate you Sanskar Maheshwari… You are the biggest mistake of my life!!!!
She fell on the floor still crying… This was not at all planned! Truly life was unpredictable…
[Shomi’s room]
Shomi was pacing up and down in her room in tension. Never in her life she had seen her darling daughter like this! She had seen her broken only once, when her father had died! She could see the same Swara today, as if someone had snatched something very precious from her…
Being a mother, she also could not sleep… How could she? After seeing her daughter in so much tension. Moreover, she was not opening the door! Shomi had no clue what to do now… Suddenly she thought something and took her phone… She dialled Sanskar’s number…
It was switched off.
Shomi frowned. Now, this was something not at all normal. Here her daughter was crying and there Sanskar had kept his phone off! Usually, he was the one who would be the most worried when Swara would be upset….
She decided to call Annapurna… Luckily, she picked up the phone.
AP – Ha Sharmishtha, tell… Itni raat ko call kiya…
Shomi – Ha woh, Sanskar is not picking up my call… So am a bit tensed… Kahan hai woh?
AP (worried) – Kya bataun? He returned just now and straight away went to his room. He is acting really strange. Normally, he would talk with me but today he did not utter a word. Maybe, the pressure of work is changing my son….
Shomi was now sure that there was a deep problem. Here Swara and there Sanskar. Things were not as clear as they appeared.
Shomi – O achaa.. Ok, then I will speak to him later… Good night Annapurna Ji…
She kept the phone and lied down. But there was no sleep in her eyes. She was trying to figure what could have happened to her children. Whole night, she kept thinking about this.
[Next Morning]
[Swara’s room]
Swara was still lying on the floor. Her long hair was spread he floor covering her face. She was sleeping after a long night of continuous crying! Suddenly the phone lying on the floor beside her rang! Once, twice, thrice… Finally the ring was successful in breaking her sleep. She hurriedly got up wiping her face which was still wet with her tears. She grabbed the phone from the floor and looked at the screen…
‘Laksh calling’ – it beeped…
She wiped her remaining tears from her eyes and quickly took the call.
Swara (in a trembling voice) – H…Hello
Laksh – Hey darling, where are you yaar? Kal vi party se jaldi nikal gayi tum… I searched for you!
Swara (in a depressed voice) – Ya, woh actually it was getting late, and mom called me thrice, so I had to leave in a hurry, sorry Laksh, I should’ve informed you…
Laksh – Its okk darling, no problem. Ok I am picking you up at 9. Lets go college together…
Swara (hurriedly) – No no listen Laksh… I am not coming today… Am having some work today…
Laksh – O.. Okk fine then. See you tomorrow!
Swara nodded and kept the phone. She rested back on the wall and closed her eyes. They were red, swollen and paining like anything. They were tired of incessant crying but her heart, it still had the same pain that pierced her heart. She picked up the friendship bracelet and held it in between her fingers and stared at them with widened eyes.
Swara (murmured) – You are not right Sanskar, you did wrong and I wont allow you to ruin my life….
She wiped her tears and got up and went out.
[An Hour later]
Swara was busy cutting vegetables. Shomi was standing beside her cooking. She did not utter a word to Swara about last night as she felt her daughter was too silent compared to the rest of the days. She decided to give her space and time. She had full faith in her daughter that she will open up in due course of time.
Swara was lost in her own thoughts when again the phone rang. She was disturbed and frowned a bit and took the phone.
Swara (a bit disturbed) – Ha Shruti… Bol…
She nodded a bit and muttered a “OK”. She left the kitchen and headed towards her room. Shomi was silently observing her every gesture but did not react.
[2hours later]
[College]
“Tu aagayi… Arre that librarian is eating up my head yaar!” – Shruti ran towards Swara as she passed through the college gate in slow steps. The college building which was her life, seemed to be so dull today!!! Everything in and around her seemed so colorless now…
Swara (in a dull voice) – Chal, lets go to the library…
They both headed towards the library. Actually the librarian wanted a particular book which was with Swara… it was much needed and she had to return it. So there was no other choice and she had to come to college even if she did not want to come out today after such an incident last night.
[Library]
Shruti was yawning sitting at a desk, there was a book kept open in front of her. The librarian had gone out for some work and Swara decided to utilize the time by preparing some notes, she was a topper after all.
Swara was deep down in her books, finally she was feeling a bit peace in her mind. Only books could give her relief. She was scribbling the references when she felt the need of the organic chemistry reference.
Swara (to Shruti) – Will be back in a minute…
She got up and went towards the Chemistry books corner. It was a a bit isolated and a bit inside the library. She passed her hand through the books kept in rack in search of the desired book. Her eyes were continuously reading the names and the call no. when suddenly she heard a sound… She turned and nobody was there…
Swara nodded her head thinking it was just her mistake and once again concentrated on the book shelf. But the sound came once again…
She kept the book and headed towards the corner from where the sound came! Little did she know that the shock of her life awaited her. She tiptoed and bent forward from behind the rack to have a proper look about what was the source of sound.
Her eyes widened and her feet froze! All she could mutter was “L-a-k-s-h”!!!! The sight just shocked her to the core of the heart. Laksh , the man whom she believed the most, the man for which she slapped the most precious person of her life was sitting here with that skinny in a girl in the most objectionable position she could have ever witnessed…. Their lips were about to meet when suddenly they drifted apart by the scream! Laksh looked up and his eyes shot wide!!!
Swara (screamed) – Laksh!!!! You you…
She could not utter more!!!! She just ran from there… Laksh followed her! She rushed to her table and started arranging her things from the table…. Tear drops made her cheeks wet and she was continuously wiping it… Laksh came behind her and turned her by her shoulder…
Laksh – Look look Swara, I can explain…
Shruti who had already got up seeing Swara’s condition….
Shruti – Hua kya? What happened?
Swara (in a low voice) – This is a library, don’t create a scene here… Let me go… Chal Shruti.
She was about to leave but Laksh blocked her way… He held her by her arms tightly…
Laksh – Swara, just once listen to me…
Swara (bursted out) – Listen!!! What do you want me to listen ha??? I just saw everything… You and that girl… Chii! Mujhe bolne mein vi sharm aa rahi hai….
She wiped her tears and held Laksh by his collar….
Swara – You know what Laksh, it was all my mistake!!! I didn’t ever realize what true love was!!!! And for you, b****y you, I slapped my best friend…. You don’t deserve me! Did you hear me! You don’t deserve me!!!!
Laksh (in anger) – First leave me!!!
He jerked her violently. All students had gathered to see what was happening…. Laksh adjusted his collar and continued…
Laksh – Deserve… Of course I don’t deserve you! I deserve much much better… First look at you! A typical studious girl, who has no happenings in life! Me Laksh, the stud of the college… Why would I be after you?? Well its simple darling, you wanted me I wanted marks! I knew you had a huge crush on me…. So it was pretty simple deal, you got the star status being with me and I got a topper girlfriend who would help me, no not help rather do my assignments and help me in tests! And moreover you, you were also two timing! Isn’t it? Everyone knows whats between you and that that Sanskar! You both are….
Before he could complete his sentence, Swara landed a tight slap on his cheeks!!!! He was shocked!!! All were looking at them, there was pin drop silence!
Laksh (shouted keeping his hand on his red cheek) – How dare you?
Swara (hissed in anger) – Ofcourse I dare!!! I wont allow anyone to speak any dirty word about Sanskar! What do you even know about him ha??? Arre you can never be like him… And our relation! A dirty soul like you can never understand our pure relation and I don’t wanna waste my time explaining to you!!!
Just then the librarian entered…
Librarian – Whats happening here? This is a library, have you all forgotten!
Swara handed him the book and muttered a sorry and marched out of the library. Shruti followed…
Shruti (running behind him) – Swara, Swara listen to me….
Swara (in a wet tone) – Not now Shruti… I have to go to him and apologize… He was correct! You know he had seen that Laksh with another girl at yesterday’s party, but I so stupid I did not believe my best friend!!!! Why would he tell a lie? Oh god I am the most idiot person in the world!!!
Swara slapped her forehead…
Shruti (smiled) – Ek ajeeb si baat notice ki hai Swara?
Swara – Not now Shruti! I am in damn tension….
Shruti – Listen na… Its really weird but even being so sad, its Sanskar whose name is lingering on your lips!!
Swara frowned a bit…
Shruti – Well according to me, this means ki you are….
Swara got the point and surprisingly she was feeling light now… As if free from an unwanted relationship. Even she was not at all happy with Laksh, infact she could not be happy with anyone else except Sanskar, her Sanskar! Oh God she was such an idiot!
Swara – I have to rush Shruti! I have to meet him at any cost!!!!
Shruti nodded in smile…
[Evening]
[Sanskar’s house]
Sanskar returned after a tiring day. He was also emotionally very very drained! After yesterday’s incident he had not uttered a single word! Not at home, not at office!!!! Ragini tried to cheer him up but kept himself engaged in work… He did not expect this from Swara, whom he thought everything in his life!
He entered his room and switched on the light… And before he could keep his briefcase, someone ran to him and engulfed him in a bone crushing hug! He was shocked as his chest became wet with tears. He was shocked to find Swara and broke the hug…
Sanskar (rudely) – Now, what do you want here???
Swara (cupping his face and pulling him closer) – Sanskar, I know you are damn angry with me… But believe me, I did not have any intention to hurt you…. I I just….
Sanskar jerked her hand and turned his back towards her…
Sanskar – I don’t wanna speak about that Swara, you may leave.
Swara hugged him from back tightly! Sanskar closed his eyes in pain…
Swara (crying) – Please please Sanskar! I know that you are angry! You should be… You were right and I I just slapped you…
Sanskar (bursted out turning to her) – Accha so now you come to know that I was right! Brilliant Swara!!!! Now that you know that he is wrong you come to apologize! But you didn’t believe your best friend! Am I a puppet Swara? A puppet of your hands… Just leave, I don’t even want to have a single word with you!!!
Swara was shocked… Never in her life, she had seen this side of Sanskar… All along he was a caring sweet friend but now she was seeing a very very angry Sanskar….
Swara (in a sad voice) – I am sorry Sanskar, I really am…
Sanskar dragged Swara out of the room and slammed the door. Swara was standing there crying incessantly! Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder and looked back. AP was standing smiling….
Swara hugged her instantly and burst in tears. AP rubbed her back caringly and smiled. She knew just what to do at this point of time….
Swara – Aunty, aunty he is very very angry! He would never forgive me!!!
AP (smiling) – You want him to forgive you? Then do just as I say…
Swara was confused and looked at AP as she smiled!
[Night]
[9:30 PM]
Sanskar was working on a file sitting on the dining table when AP came and asked him to have dinner…
AP – Beta Have your dinner then continue your work…
Sanskar – Hmm Ma…
He kept the file aside and concentrated on the meal. His eyes gleamed as it were all his favorite and the food was exceptionally tasty! He was eating heartily as AP smiled looking at him…
AP – Enjoying?
Sanskar (smiled) – Of course! Thank you so so much Ma… Its wonderful…
AP – Well the thanks is deserved by someone else…
Sanskar (frowning) – Matlab?
AP – Swaraa! Come here beta…
Sanskar was surprised to see Swara coming with another tray! She kept it on the table and smiled at Sanskar! He understood she was doing all this. He got up angrily and left the table grabbing the file.
Swara (looked helplessly at AP) – Abb! Abb kya Aunty?
AP smiled and nodded indicating her not to worry….
[Next Morning]
[Sanskar’s room]
Sanskar came out of the washroom wrapping a towel and found his clothes and belongings arranged on the bed neatly. He was a bit surprised and then found a note on the side…
He opened it and read it…
Sanskar (reading) – I am really very sorry! Plz mujhe maaf kardo…. – Swara
His face changed. He threw away the note and turned back to see her standing there with a puppy face. He was even more angry. He took the clothes and went away to the washroom to change…
Swara smiled – Accha ji… Naraz ho, but wearing the clothes I kept for you! Not bad Mr.Maheshwari…. Mana to main loongi…
[At breakfast table]
Sanskar was sitting busy reading the newspaper when Swara kept the breakfast for him. He was shocked to see a bandage on Swara’s hand… Even though he was angry, he held her hand,…
Sanskar (worried) – How did this happen?
Swara – Woh…
Sanskar (shouted) – I am asking you something…
Swara (closing her eyes and in one breath) – Woh I hurt myself for hurting you!!!
Sanskar got up in disgust!
Sanskar – Are you insane Swara!!!! You are just impossible…. I would never forgive you after this…
He marched out angrily.
Swara (smiled) – So much care ha!!! You have to forgive me Sanskar, I will make sure that of course you will!!!
Swara took the plates and went towards the kitchen…
[Afternoon]
[Sanskar’s office]
“Excuse me, may I know where is the cabin of Mr. Sanskar Maheshwari?” – Swara smilingly enquired the receptionist. She was here with lunch for him. She was looking vivacious in a blue patial suit, she had braided her hair in a fish-tail braid and applied a small bindi. She knew Sanskar always loved to see her in Indian attire so she took pakka half an hour to get ready.
Receptionist – Ya sure mam… Go straight, the 3rd cabin to the left!
Swara smiled and thanked her. She happily went as per direction. On the way she found a large mirror on a wall and had a quick look…
Swara (adjusting her hair lock) – Not bad Swara, of course he will like you….
She gleefully smiled and went to his cabin. She smiled at the name plate and pushed the door. Poor girl, she forgot to knock…
She stood still at the sight. Ragini was hugging Sanskar tightly and whispering something in his ear. She could hear what she was saying…
Ragini (happily) –Oh I am so happy Sanskar!!! Finally we are getting married next month! It’s a dream come true!!!! You know what I always feared that I would lose you, lose you to that Swara… I mean the way she sticks to you… Oh My God!!! I am so so relieved now that she is not there in your life anymore!
Swara could not listen anymore, she silently ran away crying uncontrollably. Yes, she was wrong! Her stupidity made her lose her best friend!!!!
But the scenario in the cabin was entirely different!!!
Sanskar jerked back Ragini listening to her talks about Swara…
Sanskar – How dare you Ragini? How dare you see such things to Swara!!! You think she sticks to me???? Huhh! She is my best friend Ragini, infact the only friend I have…. This is the first and the last time I am hearing something like this from you!!! And one more thing, she was is and will always be in my life!!! Understand!!
Ragini was shell shocked at Sanskar’s outburst!
Ragini – But I was just…
Sanskar (shouted) – Wait I have not completed yet…. And regarding marriage. I am sorry but I cant marry you Ragini! Never… Infact I have never loved you… So please leave me!!! I don’t wanna talk to you again… And one more thing, it’s not your love, its just that you want to buy me with all your wealth! But I am sorry Miss Ahuja I am not for sale…. Good Bye!
He walked towards the door…
Ragini (looking down) – You love her right?
Sanskar stopped and turned…
Sanskar – You would never know what I feel for her…. A girl like you can never understand who only measures love by the expensive dates you sponsor! That’s not love and I pity you would never understand!
He passed the door but stopped and bent down. He was shocked to find the ‘Friends Forever’ bracelet. That means she was here… His eyes widened! “Oh God!!!” – he muttered and ran out!!!! He had to reach home as fast as possible!
[Railway Station]
[An hour later]
Sanskar was standing in the station master’s room! So many things happened in the last hour. He rushed home to find out that she had already left from there. Shomi told him that she had planned to go to Ludhiana to her aunt’s place forever. He became mad and ran to the station… It seemed that as if his life was going away from him…. Unfortunately, the train to Ludhiana was in 5 minutes and he couldn’t search the entire station in 5 minutes!
So he ran straightaway to the station master’s room to request him to make an announcement. But still she was not found! Finally he decided to try…
Sanskar (on microphone) – Swara! Miss Swara Bose… where are you? I know you think I am angry on you Swara… But the reality is that I can never be angry on you… And I know I have hurt you… Whatever you have seen is not at all true Swara! Plz believe me! You are my everything Swara! Plz plz return… Your Sanskar is incomplete without you!!!
He sat down on the floor helplessly crying as his voice echoed the entire railway station… There was a sound of train whistle. He looked up helplessly to find the station master (SM) nodding a no with sigh…
SM – I am afraid beta, the train to Ludhiana has left… She did not stop beta!
Sanskar got up and weakly thanked him for his support. He lowered his head as he left the station area for the auto stand.
[Auto Stand]
“Oi… Itna vaari bag main akeli uthake le jaoongi kya? Tu bada kamal ka aadmi hai!” – he was startled by the sweet voice and turned. There she was standing smiling with two large luggages. He did not knew how to react… Was he dreaming??? No no this was so real!!!
He ran to her and engulfed her in a tight hug!!! To his surprise she too hugged her back!
Sanskar (weeping) – Believe me… Aisa kuch nahin hai jo tune dekha… I am so so sorry Swara!!!
Swara broke the hug and cupped his face to stop him from crying whereas she herself had tears in her eyes.…
Swara (tearfully) – No no, I believe you! Tujhpe ekbr varosa na karne ki galti kar chuki hoon main… I definitely believe you!!!
Sanskar (in a wet voice) – Then why were you leaving me?
Swara (in a low tone) – Woh I thought ki you were happy with her… So I decided to leave you both alone!!!
Sanskar (in a funny tone) – Tera dimag tere ghutne mein hya kya? (Is your brains in your knees?)
Swara started beating him playfully! He laughed and stopped her and again pulled her in a tight hug!
“Pagal” – he muttered while his lips were immersed in her hair! “Tu vi pagal!” – came the reply as she gave him a small slap…
Well, truly friendship is really the most beautiful and pure form of relationship, any relationship that would find its way from friendship would be most beautiful…. And Love, if it would arise from friendship it will be ever lasting love just as in the case of these two… They had already realized that they could only handle each other but confession… Well, it still had time!
[Next Morning]
[Swara’s house]
Swara was busy smiling. Her eyes were on the books but her mind was somewhere else… (We all know where? Haha!)
“Ahmm ahmm!” – Shomi came and sat beside her…
Swara (smiled) – Mom!!! Come na…
Shomi (teasing) – Well I was thinking ki its high time that you should get married now! See I have also found a groom for you…
Swara sprang up…
Swara – What!!! Me and marriage??? No ways mom… Plz, I don’t wanna get married now!
Shomi – Arre ekbar dkh to lo photo…
Swara took the photo from her hand and was about to throw it when suddenly her eyes glowed. She immediately ran and hug Shomi tightly!
Swara – I love you Mom!!! I love you so so much!!
Shomi – Ab nahin karni shaadi?
Swara lowered her face blushing and nodded a yes. Shomi laughed and hugged her… “I know he will always keep you happy beta! I am sure!!” – she smiled…
[After sometimes]
Swara was lying on the bed blushing and smiling! Suddenly she thought something!
Swara (in mind) – I must talk to him, ya! Does he knows??
She immediately got ready and ran out!
[Sanskar’s house]
[His Room]
Here Sanskar was also very very happy! I think you all would have guessed by now that their wedding was fixed.. He was sitting clutching a pillow and staring at Swara’s photo smiling… Swara barged in the room and started holding her knees breathing heavily!
Sanskar got up immediately and gave her water… She drank it in one go…
Sanskar – Race karke aa rahi hai kya?
Swara – Leave all that… Tell me did Annapurna aunty speak with you about anything…
Sanskar understood why she was here. He decided to tease her!
Sanskar – Na toh… Why? Something has happened…
Swara nodded in a sad no…. She turned to leave and her eyes fell on her photograph lying on the bed! She smiled and understood that he was pulling her leg! She also decided to teach him a lesson..
Swara (smiling) – Acha! Woh actually mom had found a match for me today… You know the guy is so handsome!!
Sanskar (proud) – Achha!
Swara – Ha, and he will come to meet me today evening. And you know he just now called me… His voice was so sweet.
Sanskar was shocked now! He, he didn’t call her…
Swara (smiled) – It was so good to talk to him…
Sanskar held her arm suddenly and turned her… He looked straight into her eyes.
Sanskar (in a single breath) – Listen Miss Swara Bose, its me with whom your marriage is fixed! And don’t you dare to speak with anyone else… You are only mine! Got it!!!
Swara gave a winning smile and raised her eyebrows. Sanskar understood he was trapped… He started blushing…
Sanskar (blushing) – Ha toh, I was just teasing you… Now, I don’t have this much right on my best friend! Who is also going to be my wife! I thought I thought ke…
Before he could complete Swara cupped his face and slammed her soft lips with his rough lips. His eyes widened and a current passed through his body!!! He was really shocked by her gesture, after sometimes he too responded holding her tightly by her waist. She snaked her arms around his neck and they turned the soft kiss into a passionate one in which both were fighting for authority. This was a much needed one, after all misunderstandings and pain they were finally going to be one!
It was a new beginning….
