chapter 17: Kartik’s breakdown and reality !
the chapter starts with naira and kartik bidding bye to the singhania’s . kartik was confused as he did not see naitik when he was in singhania sadan . he asked naksh but naksh told that he is sleeping , but kartik found it suspicious but brushed it off . his priority right now was naira because she lied in front of the singhania’s . kaira sat in the car .
kartik and naira spoke together : kartik /naira
they again spoke together the same thing : you okay right ?
they both chuckled at the thought that they always think the same thing at the same time . well they are perfect soulmates !! breaking the silence , kartik spoke ,
kartik : naira you alright haina?
naira (stammering): ha..an ..y.aa i amm..fi.ne
kartik :whom are you speaking a lie to?
naira: kartik stop the car
kartik : naira..
but he suddenly stopped the car in the corner of the road. kartik holding naira’s hands spoke ,
kartik : naira what happened
naira : kartik i am sorry but i lied to you and the whole family , i know i shouldn’t have but i had no option i just needed time to operate everything in my mind . i lied to you i was not in the garden and there was no cat vat . i am so sorry kartik , i will tell you everything right now .
she said it in one go while tears flowing from her eyes . seeing her tears kartik confronted her but in a calmed tone.
kartik : naira see don’t cry. i am not angry at you . i sensed something wrong at that time itself . tell me the matter .
naira : kartik voh when i went to singhania sadan , i was on the door but then i found bhai and papa speaking …
FLASHBACK
naksh : nahi papa we are not telling anything to kartik or naira
naitik : naksh try na understand that we should atleast tell kartik about it . he will keep naira safe then .
naksh: no papa we can’t tell him that
naitik : we have to tell him that the letter is fake naksh . we have to tell him that it was all a lie !
naksh : nahi papa varna you know na papa that person will come close to naira .
naitik : no matter whatever naksh , but we should tell kartik that you were the one who kept the letter there .
and that was enough for naira to break down. she was crying silently . she stumbled a bit and ran outside the singhania sadan.

kartik : what….
naira : yes kartik .. how could they do that like why ? why will they lie to us our families about such a big thing ? how could they do this kartik and why ?
kartik : umm naira
the truth – ‘the actual truth’ was so devastating for them .even kartik could not find words to actually console naira also. kartik could not believe his ears . he never thought that naksh and naitik will lie and especially about such a big thing .
naira (crying): kartik how can someone do like that such big lie i am their daughter na kartik how can they call me an orphan but kartik….
kartik : say it naira
naira : what if they are forced to lie
kartik wipes his and naira’s tears . he composed himself and then hols naira’s hand and answers ,
kartik : maybe yes naira , maybe they are actually forced to tell a lie .
naira(wiping her tears): yes kartik they must be. u trust them they won’t do something like that ever.
kartik : yaa
kartik : naira you don’t worry we will surely find out the matter . let’s go home right now and then you will take rest
naira : kartik but
kartik : no naira i won’t listen to anything right now . you need rest , i know you are still taking stress , many things have happened in a few days and today also you see na , first the truth and then the dance academy..
kartik just realised what he spoke , he scolded himself by saying that why did he had to remind naira of this incident . kartik was struggling with what to answer but then naira kept her hand on his shoulder and said ,
naira : no problem kartik , it may be a slip of tongue!
kartik : i am sorry naira . i know you will tell me not to feel sorry but i failed to protect you , to care for you . these days everytime , there was something happening but i did not took care of you acche se . dadi every time on the dining table was passing you dirts and bad looks but i couldn’t confront her . in dance academy , you were alone , you hit this car which showed that ic ouldn’t protect you. i couldn’t protect you naira from anything : accident which happened in singhania sadan and dance academy , i couldnt protect you when aditya was making you feel uncomfortable . i am not made to love naira , i am sorry but i don’t deserve you .
naira was broken seeing her love so broken . he was blaming himself for all of this but it was actually not his fault . she cupped her face and spoke,
naira : kartik sh.hhh bachaa . you did not fail to protect me , you succeeded in that . you were one of the biggest support when i came to know about that letter . you stood up for me took care of me and that was way to enough. it’s not your fault that that accident happened . calm down . and ha dare you say that you don’t deserve me or you are not made to love . my kartik deserves every happiness in this world and is made to be loved to the fullest . my mendak is the best and 100% perfect . and he doesnt have any option except for staying with his sherni not only for a day , not for 10 years but for 7 janms .
the screen freezes on naira consoling and hugging kartik !
