FIR registered against ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and channel Director MP Singh under the IT Act and Excise Act

According to the latest report, a case has been registered against The Kapil Sharma Show and channel Director MP Singh under the IT Act and Excise Act.

The FIR has been registered in the district court of Madhya Pradesh, over an episode where the cast of The Kapil Sharma Show was allegedly seen consuming alcohol while performing a courtroom scene. The makers of the show have been accused of disrespecting the court. The matter is set to be heard on October 1.

According to the lawyers involved in the case, during one of the episodes, the co-star comes onstage with a bottle of alcohol in his hand and urges other people to taste it. According to the lawyer the scene should have also featured a statutory warning.

The said scene is from the episode aired on January 19, 2020. The episode was re-aired on April 24, 2021. The Kapil Sharma Show has returned after a break of seven months with star cast including Sumona Chakravarti, Bharti Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri and Archana Puran Singh returned along with Kapil.
