Faded Lights~ A TEI FF by Aashiya Chapter 7

Sitting on the chairs arranged in the luxurious verandah, the duo started with their conversation. It didn’t really take them time to get well together. It had been just some fifteen to twenty minutes from the time they had started, and it already felt as if they knew each other since long. They talked of each other’s likes and dislikes, sometimes diverted to the topic of Kunj, but then were back to their usual common talk. Smiling to herself, twinkle suddenly questioned Misha.
“You must be having a hard time with that khadus sarna. Oh babaji, how do you even take care of him? Matlab kese?”
Misha laughed seeing the sudden frown that appeared on Twinkle’s face. She knew how Kunj was. But she also knew why he had been like this. She didn’t know if it was the right time to disclose these things to Twinkle, and so, she lightly replied to her.
“tu pehli kudi hai jisne Kunj nu esa bola hai. Nai toh logon kit oh himmat hi nai hoti use kuch bolne ki.”
Twinkle didn’t know how to take this reply. Her mind thought it to be as of two aspects. One that she might be talking jolly like her, and the other that she would have felt hurt by listening so. Twinkle was still in her thoughts, but Misha had already sensed her confusion. So she added,
“ offo puttar, tu v kya soch rahi hai. Menu v pata hai sadda kunj kinna khadus hai. Wo esa hi hai. Wo kya bola tha tune, sadu types.”
“wo toh wo hai. Par , kuch toh baat hai, jiski wajah se wo esa hai. Kabhi suddenly both acha ho jata hai,or kabhi ese treat karta hai jaise use farq hi nai padta.”

Her tone had a tinge of care. She was badly wanting to know why he was like this. She knew there was a reason behind this. His contradictory attitude towards her explained that. Her thoughts of him didn’t have an end. She could think of him for hours and days. He was that chapter that Twinkle would read innumerable times and learn it by heart. But she hadn’t made to it yet. Engrossed in her thoughts, she made the silliest excuse of feeling sleepy just to go to his room. With a smile, Misha let her go, with her heart knowing that this girl had something different in her. Her spark made her feel that she was the one who could get kunj out of his dreadful past.

She tip toed to his room wishing to find him asleep. She wished not to get lost this very time. Though it had been dark around, twinkle could make up to his bed after the adventurous trail she had here some time ago. Damn, this bed was too big. She had a big bed too but this seemed to be even huge. She wondered why this guy needed such a big bed when he had to sleep in a corner. But then it came to her mind, he was The Kunj Sarna. Brushing her thoughts aside, she quietly switched on the table lamp. She was happy he wasn’t awake. Sitting at the little space left in the corner, she kept looking at his beautiful face. He looked so adorable while sleeping. He actually seemed like a teddy bear to twinkle whom she could hold and sleep all night. She wanted to sleep but her heart was asking her to look at him for a while. But she was scared if she would awake him, she would have a difficult time. So finally, she moved to the other side of the bed. Trying to sleep, her mind was full of thoughts of the current happenings and events. She never thought she would really make up to Kunj. She remembered the day when she had first met him. It was like a new beginning to her life. Chasing Kunj was why she lived. That interview of his which she took was an unrealized beginning, but her heart couldn’t just forget the day when she really found him. Found him all drunk amidst of her attempting suicide. She was there standing near the tree and looking at the river Thames. It seemed her life had ended. There wasn’t any reason left for which she could live. She had thoughts of jumping into the river, whose waters would carry body to an undefined land and her soul to a land of peace. It had been dark and the wind blew with an increased pace. She looked at the dark sky and thought they had the same story. But the next moment she realized that the sky had stars which brightened it up, but her heart was only filled with sad blood. Nothing could be compared to her pain. Tears gushed down her eyes. It was enough now. She wanted death badly. As she neared to the boundary, the sounds of the waters were only audible. A step further would end her life. Closing her eyes, she had been ready for death to engulf her. But a sudden voice caught her attention. She turned back with a pale face. There she saw a shadow. It seemed a man was steeping out of his car. Her vision was blurred coz of the plenty amount of tears. She could just sense someone’s presence. Someone was there.
