It has been a horrible evening for Swara, sitting with a fake smile whole evening and enduring Kavya’s presence, it was more hard as she knew Kavya was better than her in every department and was easily making way into everybody’s heart. The only person who seems to care for her and knew her condition was Sujata, but Swara strictly under her oath.
As soon they left, Swara went to her room and shut the door she did not even bother to switch on the light. She cried her heart out and then decided to call her only hope…
Swara: Hiiii…………!
Ragini: Hey what happened? (Concerned)
Swara: I just met his fiancé…..
Ragini: How is she?
Swara: Ugly…
Ragini: I knew it….. Really? (Silently)
Swara: Well she is a stunner and elegant to T. After all she is a super model….
Ragini: Ho…
Swara: But her accent and Hindi sucks….. but they are perfect for each other in every way. Not like us the odds….
Ragini: Well there is no us now dear……. Please get that clear.
Swara: Ya I know, but what to do of this stupid heart…..
Ragini: Well you have to control it. You cannot go on living like this all your life, but somewhere you have to put a full stop and try to go beyond that. I know it’s easier said than done but you have to understand that Laksh had moved on and he is not coming back ever….
Swara: I know, but…..(Crying)
Ragini: Are you still crying…..
Swara: Ya I don’t wish to lie to you…..
Ragini: Stop it girl. Do you really think you had a chance, he just forgot all the love and all that you had done for him, just with that single incident. He never understood you dear, or else he would have seen your pain behind the mask you wear….. You did that all for him and his family and mother, even than…..
Swara: No Ragu it was never badi maa’s fault. Never say that again….(Raising her voice)
Ragini: Ok fine but promise me you won’t cry any more, please do…. (Defeated)
Swara: Ya promise that it’s the last night I would cry…. From tomorrow I am going to change myself and move ahead I promise.
Ragini: Well he was never meant for you. Its better you got to know it sooner than later…… Or else when you were crying here, he dating his super model and enjoying in Europe….
Swara: He was never right for me…
Ragini: Now repeat it till your heart believes it and go to sleep instead of crying good night.
Swara: Ya bye…..
Swara tried to repeat the mantra, as she prepared to sleep but when she went to take the night cream she saw the Tajmahal miniature kept and all her resolution were flushed out. She threw it against the wall were it broke into pieces just like her heart. She than felt into her bed and wept her heart out…..
Laksh saw Kavya entering his room but kept on reading his mails. She sat on the couch in front of him and
Kavya: So why did you not marry her?
Laksh: Who….?
Kavya: Swara, who else.
Laksh: And why should I ?
Kavya: Well for once your family likes her a lot and she is also not that bad in looks department.
Laksh: Do you really think I am marrying you just because of your looks?
Kavya: We are not talking about me…..
Laksh: Why should we talk about someone else…
Kavya: Why do you never give straight answers to my straight questions…. (getting frustrated)
Laksh just got up and started looking into the dark moonless night as if searching answers there…..
Kavya: Are you going to answer me or not..?
Laksh: Well Kavya before some years we had a brief relationship…..
Kavya: Ho…. So how did that affair end. (Annoyed)
Laksh: Well it was a relationship not a torrid affair. Well we were both young and during that time dad left us….. and I found that she was not the girl I was looking for…… We both wanted different things from the relationship…..
Kavya: You never tried to make it up..?
Laksh: No after that we became busy in our own lives and a kind of just drifted apart…. Like we were never meant to be….
Kavya: But even after that the first thing that you do when you come back is to buy the company she works in…..
Laksh: Well that was purely a business decision Kavya….. Don’t mix both.. And we try to avoid each other at every possible situation. (Averting his eyes)
Well at least the avoiding part was true. They had not seen each other for last 15 days. Work and Kavya had kept him busy and she too seemed purposely avoiding him. Even in office when he heard sweet voice or got a hint of her exotic perfume he just changed his way and tried to communicate with her only through his PA or Ragini. But avoiding her thoughts were altogether a different game.
Kavya: (Coming in front of him) I hope you are marring me for correct reason Laksh Maheshwari….
Laksh: The reason could not be more correct….
Kavya: And I hope this reason include love too…
Laksh: (With a devilish smirk) If you have a doubt I can clear it now….
Kavya: No not today darling, I am tired with all the rush, but I say soon… (Going to the door)
Laksh: Fine bye then….. (Getting back to his laptop)
Kavya went to her room bitterly hoping that Laksh would come behind her and kiss her senselessly….. but alas that just remained a dream. Was he like this, this cold with Swara also she wondered….. She thought the excitement in there relation which need to be there in this stage was missing, but Laksh was always like that too perfect for her choice, but she loved him and for her that mattered. She thought he was bit old fashioned and everything would be fine after marriage announcement…..
