Suk: Mani where are we going?
Manik: Mall.
Suk making faces: Why?
Manik: Because we are free.
Suk: Then why mall only.
Manik: Suk stop irritating me we aren’t going for shopping so chill.
Manik finally gives his word while Suk sighs in relief and Atharv and Samantha chuckle. While for rest of the way to mall four of them keep chit chatting. After quite a while all of them reach the mall and step in the gaming zone next three to four hours they keep playing there itself.
Manik: Guys let’s go and eat I am hell hungry.
Atharv: Okay.
Suk: Guys you all carry on I need to use the washroom.
They nod while Suk leaves.
After ten minutes of wait at food court when Suk doesn’t returns three of them get worried and go to search her as she isn’t even picking up her phone. Reaching nearly half way long they find Suk being surrounded by the same kids who had messed with them the day before. As this part of mall away from the rest and under construction so it was quite dark and silent. Three of them go and stand with Sukanya.
Boy1: Look here comes her small army.
Rest of the boys from his group laugh at his comment.
Manik: Let’s go Sukanya.
Sukanya nods and four of them begin to walk.
Boy1: Hye cowards you are scared crows.
Samantha: Shut your mouth Mr. We all have had enough of you and if you don’t want me to complaint against you to school authorities then stitch your mouth.
Boys acting scared: Oh god we got scared.
And then they laugh at them.
Atharv: Look we don’t want any mess so we are leaving it will better for you too.
Boy2: Why are you kids scared?
Manik: Fine we are. Happy now.
Let’s go guys.
Everybody knocks and walks of but the the boys don’t budge that easily and for their fun purpose they aim a sharp edge spinner towards them put Atharv catches it before it hits Sukanya. This scares Suk, Manik and Samantha.
Sukanya: What the hell Atharv. What was the need to hold that spinner.
Atharv pressing his hand: That was going to hit you.
Sukanya while wrapping a handkerchief around his hand: So what it would have hit me only. Now see your hand is bleeding.
Sukanya says loosing all her cool and while panicking.
Samantha: Relax Sukanya, I think we should take him to the medical room before he gets infected.
Sukanya nods: Manik let’s go.
But on getting ne response from Manik Sukanya, Atharv and Samantha look here and there only to find him hitting those boys.
Atharv: Oh shit.
Sukanya and Samantha go towards him and pull him away from the boys.
Sukanya: Leave them Manik they aren’t worth this even.
Manik: No way Suk thank god that spinner just hit Atharv hand it could have caused more harm as well if Atharv wouldn’t have stopped it.
Samantha: We get that Manik but these boys won’t understand this way and right now we should take Atharv to medical room.
Manik looks back at Atharv and then nods. But before they could leave that boy hits Sukanya but she holds on to his hand due to which two of them just fall of the tilling scaring the life out of the rest. Sukanya holds the tilling hanging on the other side and so does that boy.
Boy: Oh no… This is so high… I don’t… I don’t want to die…. Please save me.
Suk : Shut up you dumb head just give me your hand.
Boy: What no, you will throw me down.
Suk: I am not like you, just give me your hand.
The boy gives his hand to Sukanya while from above Atharv, Manik and Samantha hold Suk’s hand to pull her up.
Suk with all her might pulls the boy up and gives his hand to Manik.
Manik: You are seriously mad Sukanya.
Sukanya smiles at his comment while, Samantha and Manik pulls the boy up and literally throws him on the floor and hold Suk’s hand again.
Samantha: Come on Sukanya just pull yourself a little up.
Suk: Guys I am not able to my hands are tired.
Manik: Don’t you dear leave our hand Suk, otherwise I will kill you.
Suk chuckles at his words while the three nod their head in disbelief.
Atharv: Sukanya look at me. (Suk looks at him without even a pinch of fear in her eyes, that definitely shocks Atharv but composing himself he continues) Sukanya close your eyes and remember that person who gives you strength.
Sukanya nods and closing her eyes she remembers two people one is her mother whose face is crystal clear to her another is a man whose face is covered with mist but she knows it’s her father, she smiles remembering the duo and soon feels the floor under her and she opens her eyes being shocked. Atharv, Manik and Samantha had pulled her up and right now three of them were huffing. Manik and Samantha’s hands were all red while Atharv’s hand was bleeding more profusely. They had done it.
Manik gets up and rather then punching the boy this time he gives a punch to Sukanya.
Samantha: Have you lost it Manik.
While Suk looks at him with puppy face: Sorry.
Manik: Shut up you dumb head.
Suk looks at him and then pulls him in a side hug and looks at Samantha and Atharv asking them to join in. Four of them share a hug.
Sukanya: Thanks guys.
Atharv: You took my life away.
He says looking at Sukanya and the other two nod.
Boy: I am sorry.
His words make everyone to look at him.
Suk: It’s okay.
Boy: No actually it’s not okay. I have done so wrong to you still keeping all that aside you saved me. I owe a big time to you.
Suk: Chill you owe me nothing and still if you think you do then next time please don’t mess with anyone else anything can happen.
The boy nods and leaves apologising to all of them.
Samantha: Coke on let’s go to medical room now we have two patients.
Suk: Shut up I am not a patient.
Atharv: Fine, but I really need to get this wound treated now, so let’s go.
All nod and walk to the medical room.
For the first time in years accept for her small family Sukanya had found someone who had selflessly protected her. Her heart was filled with gratitude and same she poured out to Atharv, who just shrugged the thought by stating that she is his friend and he felt really connected. That was never a bad start for their life long friendship. As days passed Manik, Atharv, Sukanya and Samantha kept getting closer to each other and became friends as if they know each other since ages. After a few days of the blossoming of their friendship came the most heart warming festival for brothers and sisters that is Rakshabandhan on this day Sukanya found her brother in Atharv who was more then elated to get Sukanya as his sister (for more details read part 15).
Time flew with it’s pace and now it was one last day they had to spend with each other, one last day and from tomorrow onwards all of them will go there ways.
@PRACTICE HALL
After a day full of hectic practice Sukanya was sitting at the end of the hall chi chatting with Samantha while Atharv and Manik were doing their part of practice. It’s then when Atharv’s phone which was near Sukanya rang showing the caller id “PAPA”.
Sukanya mischievously reads the caller id: Papa.
She picks the phone and attends the call.
Shivaay: Hye Atharv, how are you champ?
Sukanya: Correction who are you?
Shivaay gets shocked hearing a girl’s voice so he checks his phone to confirm it’s Atharv whom he has called.
Shivaay: Hye I am Atharv’s dad.
Sukanya innocently with a cute pout: Who is Atharv?
Shivaay calming himself down and fighting his own confusions replies politely: The owner of the phone.
Sukanya: Then who are you.
Shivaay: Atharv’s father.
Suk looks at Samantha who asks her to put it on speaker and so she does.
Samantha dramatically: Suk do you know that Atharv and I broke up.
Suk while controlling her laughter: Oh so sad Sammy.
While on other hand Shivaay gets shocked and the Oberoi clan with him asks him to put phone on speaker so he does.
Samantha: You know he broke my heart he is such a cheat.
Suk over dramatically: Oh god this boy will never learn.
Samantha: Btw whom were you talking with.
Sukanya winking: Your future sasur ji (father-in-law).
On the other hand the Oberoi’s become shocked while Shivaay almost chokes yo death hearing Sukanya.
Samantha gives a weird look hearing sasur ji but Suk asks her to wish Shivaay to which the innocent being agrees.
Samantha in Hindi but with American accent: Namaste sasur ji.
(Hi Father in law)
Shivaay being in his own traces: Namaste (Hi).
Gauri: Shankar ji ye chirota wahan ja kar kya Gul khila raha hai.
(Oh God what is this boy doing there.)
Suk who understood their words chuckles at their expense while Samantha is all confused with their reactions.
Samantha: What happened?
Suk controlling her laughter: Nothing Sammy, it’s just that they are shocked hearing about Atharv’s antics. You know this boy has lost all his senses that he dumped you. And now look he is giggling with another girl in a corner.
Oberoi’s widen their eyes hearing Sukanya’s self made imaginary tale.
Shivaay: Call that idiot.
Suk innocently: Oh uncle you are still on call I am sorry you shouldn’t have heard all this.
Om: It’s not your mistake but now call Atharv.
Suk: Okay uncle.
(shouts) Bhai.
Atharv who was practicing with Manik looks back at her with questioning look while Suk grins sheepishly showing her 32 teeth to him and signals him that he has got a call. The expression on Suk’s face makes him feel weird but Manik understands that the duo are upto something.
Atharv: What happened doll?
Oberoi’s: DOLL????
Shivaay bangs his head.
Suk: Bhai, papa.
Atharv: Whose papa?
Shivaay murmurs: Wahan Jake apne baap ko bhool Gaya badtameez ne do so girlfriends Jo bana rakhi hain. Sharam nahi aati isse.
(Great he has forgotten his father after going there, after all he has made two hundred girlfriends there.)
Suk: Your papa.
Atharv: Oh. Give.
Suk gives him the phone while he goes at some distance to talk to Shivaay while he is all ready to burst on Atharv. While Suk and Samantha giggle and Manik asks them the matter so they explain him.
Atharv: Hi papa. How are you?
Shivaay: Beshaaram tujhe me zara Si bhi akal baki hai ya nahi.
(You dumb head do you have some sense left or not.)
Atharv looks shockingly at his phone’s screen but soon gain back his composure he tries to clear his confusion.
Atharv: Are you okay papa. What happened? Why are you talking like this all of a sudden?
Bhavya: Atharv jaisi ki tumhari harkatein hain na hum toh man kar raha hai ki tumhe third degree Dain.
(Atharv the way you are behaving I am willing to give you third degree.)
Atharv: Hi Bhavya chachi, when did you guys come.
In meanwhile Manik comes to Atharv and speaks in a volume that is audible to the Oberoi’s.
Manik: Hye handsome whom are you talking to.
Atharv gives him weird looks as if he is an alien: Are you okay Manik.
Manik: Yes baby.
Atharv rolls his eyes and runs out not willing to face this weird behaviour.
Gauri: Chi… Chi… Chi… Shankar ji haye diya itna Sa Baccha aur kya kya harkatein kar raha hai. Maine aap se kaha tha na bade bhaiya mat bhejiya isse wahan na Jane kya kya Ho raha hai wahan.
(Oh no. Oh god what is happening such a small kid he is and what all is he doing. I told you bade bhaiya (brother) not to send him there but who listens to me. Only god knows what all is happening.)
Atharv getting back on call: Hye! I am sorry.
Shivaay: You idiot what are you doing there.
Atharv: One second I am not getting anything.
Rudra: But we got everything and I am proud of you Atharv, today you proved that you are my nephew.
Atharv awkwardly with hell lot of confusion in his head: Okay, but will someone tell me what happened?
Om: What’s left to tell and why are you following this duffer’s footsteps.
Om says hitting Rudra’s head.
Atharv: What are you all saying everything is going from above my head.
Saying so he turns and looking inside finds Manik, Sukanya and Samantha laughing seeing him and then he is reminded of Suk’s cheeky grin before handing him the phone and finally it strikes him that the three musketeers have pranked his entire family and god only knows with what but that’s the sole reason he is having such confused and awkward moment with his family on phone.
Shivaay: Atharv you have spoiled my name.
(Atharv tune toh mera naam duba Diya.)
Atharv: Relax papa and calm down all of you.
Gauri: Kaise clam down kar lein hum abhi wahan aate hain aur tum haar hari ke apne saath lekar chalte hain.
(How can we calm down, we are coming there to take you with us.)
Bhavya: But first tell us who are those two girls and that boy with you. Stay away from them.
Atharv: Oh God! Relax choti ma and chachi, those three are my friends.
Shivaay: Then who is doll?
Atharv: Doll, dad she is my sister. What were you guys thinking.
Rudra: Baap ka ladla bigaad Gaya aur kya.
(The darling son of father got spoiled, what else.)
Rudra says with a notorious smirk just to receive a spat from Shivaay and a collaborated “Shut up” from ShivKara.
Atharv: What???
Shivaay: And who is that other girl.
Atharv: Oh Samantha, she is my friend.
Gauri: Aur Vo chirota kon hai?
(Who is that boy?)
Atharv: Manik he is also my friend. Why anything wrong.
Bhavya: Friend he hai ya kuch aur.
(He is friend only or something else.)
Atharv: Kuch aur… Aur kya?
(Someone else… But who?)
Shivaay freaking out: Atharv tell me truthfully how many girlfriends do you have?
Om: And how many boyfriends do you have?
Atharv being shocked: What the wuck? Dad I have no girlfriends and definitely no boyfriends too.
Shivaay: Don’t lie to me right now only you ditched Sammy and you hocked up with that boy who called you handsome.
Atharv rolling his eyes: Sammy… I ditched her but how? And Manik when did I hock up with him? And who said that.
Shivaay: Your doll only.
Atharv glares Sukanya who is sitting and giggling with the other two unaware of Atharv’s glare.
Atharv: Congratulations she fooled you all.
All together: What?
Atharv: What else. Wait stay on line, I need to settle my scores.
Saying so he keeps his mobile in pocket and then walks in.
Seeing him three of them silence themselves.
Suk: Hye bhai did you talk well.
She says trying to cover up her giggles.
Atharv: Yes doll I talked well. (turning to Samantha) and Sammy I am so sorry for ditching you.
Samantha becomes conscious and looks here and there trying to find words in her defence seeing which Atharv smirks.
Atharv holds Samantha’s hand: But dear I really can’t go along what to do I like Manik alot.
Manik jumps at his place: What the heck? Have you lost it. Stay away from me you wahiyaat insaan (bad man).
Atharv: Ary what say na doll, ask him not to behave so weirdly.
Suk with wide eyes look at him and then at Samantha and Manik: Are… Are you normal bhai.
Atharv: Ya why? And you will only talk about my relation with my family after all you are my sister.
Suk: Bhai we are just 10 and why are you telling me your future plans and that too of at least 20 years from now.
Manik: This boy has lost it.
Samantha: And ya you are mad you dumb head.
Atharv standing up straight with a smirk on his lips: Oh really. But a while ago Doll was only putting forward my relation with you and I had ditched you. With a matter of fact will you tell me when did we hook up. And Manik to you I was looking really handsome. Right?
Three musketeers look at each other as they understood it was their pay back time, all of them pass a nervous smile to each other while Atharv holds a bottle and throws it on Manik followed by a pencil box, a bag, pens, erasers and what all he could reach too, the two girls skilfully get out of the place while Atharv begins punching Manik, who is trying his level best to get out of the grip and finally on being successful he runs out while Atharv follows the three.
While on other hand as soon as the Oberoi’s hear the conversation they get shocked as somebody pranked THE OBEROI’S but who could do that better then AN OBEROI itself. They disconnected the call but after getting out of the effect of the prank Shivaay’s mind kept playing Sukanya’s voice and an unknown love for that voice was planted in his heart as if putting his entire soul at calmness.
Shivaay: So that was you who pranked us.
He shouts bringing Atharv and Sukanya out of their flashback that they were narrating to him.
Sukanya smilingly nods her head as if she is the most innocent being on earth.
Shivaay: Oh God! You are…
Atharv: Right papa she only looks innocent but she isn’t that innocent.
Shivaay nods his head: Continue.
Sukanya: Okay so the thing is that the next day we all left to our respective countries and we were constantly in touch with each other even your bahu (DIL).
She says giggling getting a spat on her head from Atharv but who cares.
Atharv: Sudhaar ja.
(Mend your ways.)
Sukanya: Iss janaam me toh definitely nahi.
(Definitely not in this birth.)
Shivaay: Get back on track guys.
Sukanya: Okay okay. So four of us know each other since last four years and then we use to talk to each other every single day, means every single day. And rest you know better.
Shivaay nodding in disbelief: Ya rest I know better. But why didn’t you tell me that you are doll.
Sukanya with a puppy face and sad pout: First I thought you will be able to guess it but you didn’t even think about that and then I came to know you are my father and all the thoughts went in drain, then bhai came and leading further confusion just reached another level I didn’t understand what to do so I let the things go the way they were.
Shivaay: Okay that’s fine but you really had no plans of disclosing all this to me.
Sukanya: I did have plans but I thought once everything gets sorted then I will tell you. Anyways this much of investigation is enough for the day I am feeling hungry let’s go and eat something.
Sukanya finally puts an end to discussion while moving out followed by the other two.
