Entangled destinies [Prologue and Introduction]… by Mahira

Here I’m back with a new small story. It was meant to be a OS for the competition but too long and not enough time to end it, it will be posted on small few shots… it’s not just Swasan or Raglak or even Swaragini/Sanlak… or in any other you want… it’s a bit of all melted together… as their entangled destinies made them related forever…
No more bak bak… lets start the story…

PROLOGUE
Sanskar Kapoor, 25 years old, leaves his center city’s duplex for his job at almost 10.00 AM.
Aware of his effect over the female kind of this planet, he’s amused by the whispers in his back standing in the elevator and doesn’t hesitate to wink back to his two teenage neighbors drooling on him at the moment he gets out. Blowing a flying kiss to the old madam Sanders, the concierge of the building, he takes his bike she just finished to clean and starts his journey which ends at the Hope Memorial Hospital’s entry.
Walking in, in his casual blue t-shirt and jean, he doesn’t even salute back the people crossing his way. If some considers him eccentric, others say he’s a genius… and he doesn’t give a damn to anyone’s opinion.
Graduated at 18, Doctor Sanskar Kapoor is one of the best neuro-psychiatric doctors in the world.

Laksh Maheshwari… at his last year of the University, he’s the unique son and heir of Durga Prasad Maheshwari, one of the most influent industry’s tycoons in the whole continent.
Already engrossed in his father’s business, good son and perfect friend, everything was perfect in his life until one year back…
He receives a call when he’s driving and picks up immidiatly:
“- I’m on my way there, don’t worry… ha… ha ha ok… take care too…”
When he hangs off, his eyes get moist staring for a moment at his phone’s screen… a car’s horn takes him out of his thoughts as he’s about having an accident!

Ragini Gadodia is the youngest daughter of Shekar Gadodia, the business partner and friend of Durga Prasad Maheshwari.
Brought up by her strict Dadi ma after her mother’s death, she has always been the model of the perfect girl be it in her home or at the university.
Closing a door room in her family’s mansion without a sound, she wipes her tears discreetly before going out.
She gives destination to her driver and takes the seat at back side of the car dialing someone’s number…

Swara Gadodia is the eldest daughter of Shekar Gadodia, bubbly, funny and open-minded girl, despite the fact she’s the opposite of her sister, she’s the closest person to her heart.
After their mother’s death, she has been brought up by her Dida at Banaris and returned back home only few years back after the old woman death.
her life has always been dedicated to others, a fervent active member of the Down’s Syndrome children’s association… memories of her worldwide travels with them in aim to provide them better life are hanging in lot of photos over the three of her room’s walls. The fourth exposes lot of child’s drawings with colors, rainbows and hearts…
In the middle, a king size bed where she’s peacefully sleeping curled on herself, in her fair pink pajama, she would look like a baby if there weren’t those long black silky locks of hair covering her face… the dark space is only illuminated with a monitoring medical screen behind her and a perfusion needling her right hand.

PART 2: INTRODUCTION
Hope Memorial Hospital…
« – Doctor Malhotra is waited in room number 355… Doctor Malhotra is waited in room 355… »
The young woman in her twenties sitting in the corridor on the waiting seats presses her hands together nervously again, she checks her watch again before looking up to her companion, the young man passes his two hands in his hair nervously. She tries to give him a reassuring smile but she couldn’t convince him as she was as irritated as him. When a nurse passes by their way, she exclaims hopefully:
“- sister, how long will the Doctor Kapoor take to come, please… we have been waiting here for more than five hours!”
“- I’m sorry madam, my reply will not change if you’ll ask me for the 10th time… I have no any idea!”
The man asks her sternly:
“- this is inacceptable, how is it possible to be a doctor and have no proper working schedules…”
“- … because I’m not an employee in you society!”
The voice comes from behind the three of them, the nurse looks back to doctor and smiles apologetically but he doesn’t smile back. Doctor Sanskar Kapoor never smiles… she tells him:
“- doctor Kappor, those persons are…”
“- waiting for me, I can see that Maria… you go…”
He enters his office letting the door opened behind him, so they come after him as he walks to his desk and opens his laptop ignoring them. The young woman starts after a moment of uncomfortable silence:
“- Doctor Kapoor, my name is Ragini Gadodia and this is Laksh Maheshwari, I’ve read an article about your work and we’re here to ask you to take my sister’s case…”
The doctor doesn’t even look up to them, he checks some files while Ragini continue tears forming in her eyes, Laksh presses her hand reassuringly:
“- my sister is in coma for a year now, no one was able to say what happened exactly and how to treat her… please doctor…”
She joins her hands her tears drowning her face as her voice chokes emotionally… Laksh’s eyes are moist too and the doctor looks finally to them as Ragini starts sobbing:
“- to treat your sister, she has to be hospitalized first…”
Laksh frowns saying:
“- HERE!!! In this public establishment! Have you heard the name, GA-DO-DIA… like in Gadodia’s Industries… we…”
The doctor whistles silencing him shockingly! He smiks saying:
“- Ragini ji… tell your husband that I’m still not an employee in his society! And… I work exclusively in this public hospital with patients interned here… take it or leave it!”
Ragini mumbles awkwardly:
“- he’s not my husband!”
Sanskar looks to their joined hands and both of them get apart with a jerk, Laksh’ explains with an uncertain voice:
“- main Laksh’ Maheshwari… Swara’s fiancé!”
