Zee TV and Ekta Kapoor (Balaji Telefims) are gearing up to bring a new show for Indian viewers.
Ekta’s new show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ will replace no other than her own long running show ‘Pavitra Rishta’.
It is understood that due to constant low ratings of Pavitra Rishta, in spite of taking a generation leap and giving Ankita Lokhande a younger girl’s role, the channel has decided to free up 9 p.m. prime time slot for Balaji Telefilms’ brand new show Kumkum Bhagya.
Kumkum Bhagya stars Sriti Jha (who was earlier seen in Balika Vadhu as Ganga) and Shabbir Ahluwalia (who has done couple of shows for Balaji Telefims in the past).
Pavitra Rishta loyal fans don’t be sad! Pavitra Rishta won’t go off air. The sources inform that Pavitra Rishta will be shifted to an earlier slot of 6:30 p.m. If the viewers like Naren – Ankita chemistry, then earlier slot may just benefit Pavitra Rishta as it won’t have much of the competition at 6:30p.m.
This will be Balaji Telefilms’ third on-air show on Zee TV.
The changes in time slots are expected to happen at the end of March or early April.

Diya aur bati is really a very good serial with a great message behind it for our today’s world. It deserves its high trp rate. I am glad that Ekta’s new serial is coming and the talented actress Sriti is in it.:-)
Yes Sriti is very good. Balika Vadhu used to be my first choice when she was there. Then slowly I just stopped it as new Ganga just cannot act and her voice is ugly.
I think this show won’t beat Diya Baati, but it will definitely lower down its ratings, and if Jodha Akbar carries on the way it’s going currently, then it will take first place from Diya Baati.
I liked Pavitra Rishta before this rape track came. I don’t know how it’s going to do well at an earlier slot with crap story. Anyway good luck to them.
U r right. Jodha akbar can take 1st place in trp. But I cant understand how a historical show like jodha akbar can telecast such a story of poisonous lady (benazir)? In reality we all know it cant be happened. This fake story can mislead many people.

I don’t know whether this show will beat trp’s of dabh or not .but surely rangrasiya will be top in trp’s.because it is very nice. Ashish and sanaya are doing great.

DABH is nw successfully remade into south indian languages and pple hav accepted it whole heartedly.

I think this show gonna rock small screen,giving viewers a passionate luv story. Shabbir iz going to play da role of a “rock star” Sirti iz beautiful & talented. Hope this show wud be a gr8 hit like one of my all time fvrt show ” kaisa he pyar ha ” ( produced by same production house)
