She asks Swarna if she will help her or not. Swarna says she will do it.
They come to kitchen, Gayatri says to Swarna that she wants to know why palace has come indebt of her father. Swarna says that she has been brought up in a palace, she will show her the royal kitchen. She shows Gayatri a bag full of almonds, Swarna says that Laksh likes almonds so they were brought from Kashmir, he ate a few and the rest will be thrown. On the table, Raaj mata announces that today the food was prepared by Gayatri in her supervision. They all appreciate the food. Laksh asks why it is so different. Gayatri says that this food has less oil and masala, from today such food will be prepared in the palace. Gayatri says this is healthy food. Kunwar ji calls it poor’s food. Gayatri says that food is never poor, it is the one who eats who is poor or rich. Kokilla and Kunwar ji begins to curse the food now. Kunwar ji asks how he can even allow this in the palace. Rana ji reminds Kunwar ji that he is a soldier, it isnt a soldier’s nature to worry about food. He tells Laksh that the recognition of a palace isnt with their food but with their doings. This is a petty matter to comment on. Raaj Mata says to Gayatri that she has taken a difficult tast to change the years old traditions, but this is what a Raani does. She says that there a saying, a penny saved is a penny earned.
The Minister comes with a letter from British government. Raaj mata tells him to come afterwards, but Rana ji says had it not been important he wouldn’t have disturbed. The minister says it isn’t a good news. He reads a letter, Rana Indravadhan Singh has been blamed to marry a non Rajput girl without permission, the British government is putting a 10,000 fine on Rana ji, in case the fine isn’t paid the British government will have to take the crown from Rana ji. Rana ji is angry and stands saying were British not tired of ruling India that now they have started to rule is personal life as well. Raaj Mata says the palace is already torn, it will be a problem for them. Rana ji says the British will have to return each and everything they are doing. He tells Raaj Mata that she was happy that Gayatri saved them money, this is the cost that the palace must pay for her. He tells them all the enjoy food now.
