Scene 1
Kamla is teaching her son pakiya. He is doing his homework. Then they both go to have dinner. Her husband serves the meal and don’t let her sit on the floor. She asks where is his plate ? He says i will eat from your plate. He let her eat with his own hands. The family is having good time. It is when he tells about his problem. He says i am not hungry. He leaves.
Scene 2
Kamla goes to her husband and asks what the actual problem is? What has happened in the mill? He cried i have not bought the mill, the man who has is not starting it. There is nothing for poor people in this world. She asks mithal not to be worried. He says i am so scared. Kamla says we will make it through. God has been merciful. Mithal and Kamla are going to do something new. She tells him about the offer that kid’s mom had made. He says i will never let you work in a house as a maid. Kamla tries to convince him that this is God’s sign. He knew already there is something wrong going to be in your mill. He says i am not like those man who send their wives to someone’s house to work. She says we can give our children a better future if we both work together. Mithal says i am not God but i will do whatever i can, fro my children. I can not write their fate. Kamla says i won’t spoil the dream of my kids on the basis of fate. Mithal asks her to sit down. He sits with her knee and says i am alive because of you. It has been 10 months i am sitting home but still smiling. Why don’t you understand that i care about you. I can’t let anything happen to you. She says nothing will happen to me there is not a lot of work their. He says i have not fulfilled any of the promises that i made on our wedding. Kamla says everything has been so beautiful with you. He sweeps her tears away and goes to sleep. Kamla says we are the hardworking kings and queens. He is in tears and so is Kamla.
Scene 3
Sun comes up, Kamla wakes up and finds her husband making tea for her. She finds she is a little angry still so she says i will not go anywhere i will stay here. He says you don’t need to do that favor for me. You will later on say i spoiled the future of your children. Kamla corrects him our children. He leaves. Kamla wakes Pakiya up for school. He says its his holiday today. Kamla says there is something important go get ready.
Scene 4
Kamla is going with Pakiya. They finds mithal on the gate he asks her to turn around and puts some flowers in her hair. She asks him that she wanna go school to collect her pay. He holds her hand and they both go to the school. Some kids say we miss you so much Kamla. She sees Yadadv(the driver) there who says these days without you are diificult. Kids are really hard to handle.
Kamla gives the pay to Mithal and then holds his hand. She bows down to have his arshivad, that they can fulfill the dreams of their kids.
Scene 5
Kamla goes to the woman she says your rest days have ended ? You were reluctant yesterday no? She says i felt like we both need each other. She says no i don’t need you.
