Villagers decide to teach a lesson to Bhima and people from his community to make sure no one dares to go against them ever again.
Ram ji and Puranjan decide to approach police captain and request them to deploy a constable for their safety. They also speak to other people and convince them to be on alert at night.
Bhima and Dhruv come to Madhvi’s house late at night. She tells him why she is upset. They try to cheer her up but she is still sad. They hear the sound of someone approaching and take her leave. Madhvi’s father asks Madhvi if someone was here. She denies. Her mother asks her why she hasn’t cooked food yet. Madhvi replies that she isn’t hungry. Her father says this is a way to seek your mother’s pity so she should cook for you. Don’t expect it from us. Madhvi says I very well know I don’t have to expect any such thing from my parents. I will cook on my own if I am hungry.
Bhimbai paces restlessly at home. Meera is also worried but Ram ji assures them the boys will be home soon. Bhima and Dhruv return home just then. They share Madhvi’s plight. Bhimbai is worried that they went to Madhvi’s house so late at night when she was all by herself. Ram ji asks Dhruv if someone saw them. Dhruv denies. Bhima wants to do something for Madhvi. Bhimbai says no one can change a widow’s fate.
Next morning, Bhima and Anand try to give pickle to Madhvi but she declines. Aayi says a widow should have simple food. They try to convince her but in vain. My life is not going to change now as I am a widow. It can only change only if I go back to living my life like before. They sadly leave.
Bhima and Anand give the box of pickle to the other widow. She thanks them for bringing it for her. This is my favourite. They ask her how they can bring a change in Madhvi’s life. She rues that no one can do that ever now as she is a widow.
Bhima is unable to sleep at night. He overhears Bhimbai, Meera and Ram ji talking about Savitri Bai Phule’s institute where they look after widows and help them rebuild their life. Ram ji advises ladies not to tell anything to Bhima. Plus, Madhvi is the only child. Maybe her parents will soften over years and accept their child as it is. Bhimbai nods.
