The episode starts with the man challenging Bhim Rao to arrange streetlamps for the lower caste. The man left. Bhim Rao decided to visit Ramji and consult him regarding this issue.
Ramji and Puranjan were about to take off from the duty. Joshi said them to ask for permission. Bhim Rao arrived. Ramji asked for permission. Joshi asked him to do overtime, he refused to be lectured. Ramji gave him some papers, showed him that everything was done, nothing was left to complete. Joshi tore the pages, said that Ramji must be feeling bad. Joshi wanted Bhim Rao to apologize from him, rub his nose for it. Ramji said that he as a father would not let his son bow down for anyone, he might belong to the lower caste, but he had high morals as a father. Bhim Rao came forth and said that he never considered himself from the lower caste. Bhim Rao will continue to fight for their rights and respect, he as Ramji’s son would carry all the burden for his father. He picked up the tore pieces, asked Joshi the many ways he has contemplated to tease Ramji. Joshi said that this was a workshop not a college. Bhim Rao replied that Joshi must realize that himself, lower caste worked here who would stand against him at ease. For that reason, Joshi should be careful. Bhim Rao took Ramji and left.
Puranjan praised Bhim Rao’s capability to answer. Ramji said that the argument could have been left unanswered. Bhim Rao ought to fight for his father wherever it was needed. Ramji refused to have Bhim Rao at his workplace to fight for him. Ramji got infuriated, Bhim Rao was leaving. Ramji stopped him, consoled him that he would be called if Ramji ever needed him. Puranjan asked why Bhim Rao came to the workshop. Bhim Rao informed him about the streetlamp incident. Ramji apologized, assured him that there would always be sufficient Kerosene oil for his education. He asked him to focus on his studies and leave the streetlamp matter as it was not important, he left. Bhim Rao said to himself that the streetlamps were not a matter of education but their basic right from which they were being deprived off because of their lower caste.
Rama was searching for the letter, wondered if Bhim Rao took it with himself. She took Gomti’s name out loud, Meera heard and questioned. Rama covered it up. Lakshmi asked Rama to help Jijabai in the kitchen. Jijabai said that Rama must be tired, she needed rest. She asked Lakshmi to help her. Lakshmi said that she had to go to the market. Jijabai asked Rama to go to the market. Lakshmi gave her the money, told her the grocery list. Rama left. Meera advised Lakshmi to understand that Jijabai was never true to anyone. She once hated Rama, but now Rama was dearest to her. She said Jijabai has always been like this, spreading hatred. Lakshmi asked why Jijabai bothered Meera. Meera replied that she didn’t want another Jijabai to be born in this house.
At night, Bhim Rao recalled Ramji’s words. Rama sat behind him and started massaging her hairs. She called for Bhim Rao’s attention, asked him he answered the letter. Bhim Rao replied that he did, asked why she was concerned. Rama refused to care, she asked where Bhim Rao met Gomti. Bhim Rao asked to apply oil and massage her hair. Rama questioned about Gomti. Bhim Rao said that it was written in the letter that they met in 10th grade. They were classmates. She asked further questions. He said that the letter said that Bhim Rao called her nose a tomato. Rama asked another question. Rama was irritated said that Bhim Rao knew she did know how to read. Bhim Rao forgot that he asked her to question he would answer. Rama left in anger.
Bhim Rao heard her weeping. He peaked at her, apologized for the tears but he wanted her to get education. He wanted her to understand that.
Ramji didn’t agree with Bhim Rao. Bhim Rao tried to explain him the necessity of streetlamps in the locality. It was their right. Gegnesh heard them talking. Ramji asked Bhim Rao to sleep. Bhim Rao asked Ramji to tell him whom he should consult to arrange a streetlamp, he would handle the rest. Gegnesh clapped at the new melodrama Bhim Rao was about to cause, he awoke everyone in the society and told him about Bhim Rao’s new plan. Everyone refused to get in trouble for a streetlamp, they were okay with their living standards. Ramji asked Bhim Rao to understand that no on cared enough, the children for whom he wanted to arrange the streetlamps weren’t here, because their parents didn’t let them. he further added that everyone had a point, why should they bare trouble for a streetlamp.
Precap: Joshi comes to the society, warns everyone that Bhim Rao urge to arrange streetlamp would trouble them. He says that if they wanted peace, Bhim Rao continues that they must throw Bhim Rao and his family out of this locality. Joshi asks Bhim Rao if Bombay was of his father, Rama tells Joshi that Bombay didn’t belong to his father, grandfather, or uncle as well.
