Scene 1
Ganga plays with Doree. He takes care of her. Doree starts growing up. Her mom keeps missing her. Doree grows up to be 7 years old. Ganga looks for Doree. Nani says where is she? Ganga asks why are you mad? He says what has she done? She stole your teeth again. He laughs. Doree comes to the temple dresses as krishna.
Kalashi devi also comes to the same temple. She says God you’re mad at me. But I am still on my condition and giving your resham saree with gold. She goes to distribute gold. Doree and her friend go to get prasad. Kalashi gives her prasad. She says there are other kids in the line before me. Give them to me. She gets mad. She says to pandit ji how can God be insulted like this? She’s a girl. How can she become mahadev? Doree says why can’t girls be mahadev? She says girls belong in the kitchen otherwise they go to hell. She says then sankata mayya should also go to hell? She says my dad says all people are equal. Kalashi gets water. She washes Doree’s facce. She throws the pot and a pole falls on her. Doree saves her. Kalashi gets mad. She says how did you touch me? She says the pole was gonna fall on you. You can come to basti, my nani will clean your saree. She says if the world was ending, I would still not go to that dirty neighbourhood. And better tell her she’s your daughter. Teach her how to fear the world and manage the house only.
Scene 2
Kalashi gets her hair done. His other DIL says mom looks angry. Raj says someone made her angry. Kalashi thinks about what Doree did. She says she didn’t do the right thing by touching my saree. Doree asks Ganga why did she get mad? He says they don’t understand. She says we’re not less than them. She asks him to make a butterfly napkin for her. She says I will make a good house for you. Ganga says one day you will become very successful.
Thakur comes. He says Kalashi thinks her anger is her power but it’s her weakness. Kalashi comes out. She burns her saree that doree touched on hands of another poor woman. Everyone is shocked. Thakur asks what happened? She says an ordinary girl touched my saree. He says but it’s such a small deal. He says she touched me.. Now I.. His younger DIL says don’t burn yourself. She says I will clean myself. She asks Mansi to bring ganga jal.
Scene 3
Doree comes home. Nani is mad. Doree asks what did you make? She gives nani money that Ganga gave her and says make halwa puri please. Kailashi says those third class people were asking me to go to their neighbhourhood and clean my saree? He says the same people run your business. She says silk is made from insects too. Her husband says be scared of your arrogance. She says like you’ve done no sins.
A girl comes to Ganga’s house. She takes money from nani. She says is the business going good? Nani no there’s no food. Ganga sats please return the money. She says you’ve a loan of 4k. He says I will give it in a week. She says I can do that. She calls in her men. She asks them to pick the sewing machine. Nani cries and stops them. Ganga says this is our only way fo earning. She says give me my money and take the machine. She leaves. Nani says I told you debt can drown us. You keep taking debts for this doree. You should have rather 6 years ago.. Ganga stops her. Doree asks what happened 6 years ago.
