It becomes a moment of pride when our celebrities actually indulge in some real influencing by setting the right examples. Actress Donal Bisht recently joined the forces of unique hunger-alleviation campaign ‘Feeding From Far’ to share the joy of food with people living in Mumbai slums.

Donal is a very popular name in the Telly industry. She handed over ration kits to over 500 families in the Matunga labour Camp area and adjoining parts of Dharavi. The packages consisted of cooking essentials such as rice, dal, wheat, salt, cooking oil, sugar, chili powder and turmeric powder sufficient enough to suffice a family of five for a week.

Donal Bisht said, “Hunger is the root cause of many problems gripping the society and it is our social and moral responsibility as people with privileges to look out for the lesser advantaged. Firstly, I’d like to extend a huge vote of thanks to the organisation for their commendable efforts in mitigating the key trigger of poverty and crime in the country – hunger. Their work and dedication have saved many a lives during the pandemic that would have otherwise ended up as suicide cases.

“I’m glad that I could be a part of this wonderful initiative to indeed bring a spark of joy among struggling families in these communities. The sense of content and fulfillment in their eyes made me realise how we take our life and blessings for granted many times. When you see people battle for their basic needs, you understand how trivial our issues indeed are,” she added.
