Dipika Chikhlia and Arun Govil Invited to Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir Consecration; Actress Advocates for Sita’s Idol Placement

Dipika Chikhlia, celebrated for her portrayal of Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s revered TV series Ramayan, has received an invitation to the momentous Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya scheduled for January 22. Alongside her, Arun Govil, known for depicting Lord Ram in the iconic Doordarshan serial, has also been cordially invited to this historic event.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Dipika shared glimpses of the invitation, showcasing herself and her husband holding the patrika for the consecration ceremony. Expressing her gratitude, she captioned the post, “Blessed to be part of this event. 🙂 Historical moment.”

In response to the invitation, the actress has urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider including an idol of Sita alongside Lord Ram’s in the Ayodhya temple. In a statement to a news channel, Dipika expressed her sentiment, saying, “I always felt that there should be an idol of Sita Ji beside Ram Ji. I would like to request our Prime Minister to honor Sita Ji alongside Lord Ram in Ayodhya.”

Continuing her plea, she emphasized, “I urge that Ram Ji should not be kept alone. I believe he is depicted in his childhood form in Ayodhya. It would bring immense joy not only to me but to all women if Mother Sita is revered alongside Ram Ji.”

The sprawling Ram Mandir, spanning 70 acres, will open to the public on January 22, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi performs the “pran pratishtha,” the consecration ritual of the Ram Lalla idol. Reports suggest invitations have been extended to various film personalities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Sunny Deol, Prabhas, Yash, and Rishab Shetty, to grace the ceremony with their presence.
