Did you know Irrfan Khan was a part of these popular TV shows?

One of the finest of Bollywood, Irrfan Khan’s demise took the entire nation  by shock. The Actor passed away at the age of 54 after being admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday. His mother passed away just 4 days ago in Jaipur and today he too went and joined her in the heavenly adobe.

He has ruled over the entire Bollywood industry with his impeccable acting and was one of the true gems of our country. Irrfan who made his debut in the film ‘Salaam Bombay’ in the year 1988 has went on to be a part of some of the best International projects like Life of Pi, Jurassic World, Inferno, The Amazing Spiderman amongst others.

Irrfan Khan not only graced the big screen, but was also an inseparable part of Indian television too. He started his journey in Television with the show Shrikant which was based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyaya’s novel Srikanta. The show premiered on Doordarshan in the year 1985.

He was later seen in yet another show for Doordarshan titled ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’ which was a 53 episode drama based on Jawaharlal Nehru’s book ‘The Discovery of India’. Irrfan was seen in two episodes in the show.

In 1991, he was seen in yet another TV show titled ‘Kahkashan’. Irrfan essayed the role of Senapati Bhadrashal in the historical drama Chanakya in the year 1992.

In 1994, Irfan portrayed the role of the twin brothers Badrinath and Somnath in the Indian fantasy television series ‘Chandragupta’. His performance was well appreciated in the serial. In the year 1995, the Actor brilliantly played the role of psycho killer in the spine chilling thriller ‘Darr’.

Post that, Irrfan has been a part of several shows including the likes of Jai Hanuman, Sparsh, Bombay Blue, Banegi Apni Baat, The Great Maratha amongst others. He has also hosted several shows like Kyaa Kahein, Mano ya Na Mano and Don.

In addition to this, Irrfan has also been a part of the 2010 American series ‘In Treatment’ where he played the role of Sunil and a Japanese four part historical drama ‘Tokyo Serial’ in the year 2016 where he essayed the role of Radhabinod Pal.
