Dheeraj Dhoopar talks about his role as Raghav Jindal in ‘Saubhagyavati Bhava: Niyam aur Shartein Laagu’

Dheeraj Dhoopar is gearing up for a captivating new role and an exciting journey as he joins the cast of ‘Saubhagyavati Bhava: Niyam aur Shartein Laagu.’ With the show’s promo creating quite a buzz, Dheeraj opens up in a recent interview about his character, his son Zayn, and more.

“Saubhagyavati Bhava” has been a cult show in the realm of Indian television, and Dheeraj is thrilled to be leading the show. He shares, “Yes, I am leading the show, I had no reason to deny it. I haven’t done anything like this in my entire career, and this is what I was looking for. Before signing this show, 15 days back I was having a conversation with someone about the kind of work I was searching for, and I got ‘Saubhagyavati.’ The team, the storyline, the characteristics of the character, everything made me say a big yes.”

Not one to buckle under pressure, Dheeraj confidently approaches his acting career. He states, “I don’t take any pressure as an actor. My job is to act, my job is to perform in front of the camera and do it convincingly so that people will love the character which I am playing. I have made my own space in the Industry for the last 14 years as an actor and I totally believe in my craft.”

His role as Raghav Jindal in the show marks a significant departure from his previous characters. Dheeraj expresses, “Raghav is completely different from everything I did before; he is a very complex character. The way he reacts to the situations in his life, his interpersonal relationships with his wife, family, colleagues, and everyone around him are very different. When people see me as Raghav Jindal, they should see that I can do something like this as well and I can do it convincingly. My goal is to achieve the character.”

Dheeraj emphasizes the importance of learning with each character he portrays. He reflects, “Every character that I have done, I have learned something new in my craft. How to act with body language, and I have been lucky enough to do different kinds of shows, be it supernatural, I did ‘Naagin 5’ and ‘Sasural Simar Ka.’ When it comes to realistic characters, I did ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Sherdil Shergill.’ I played a cricketer and then a stand-up comedian, which is more relatable to the viewers.”

Even with Raghav, Dheeraj plans to add his personal touch. He explains, “Even with Raghav, I shall add my personal touch to it. I bring a certain kind of body language to it, a certain kind of expression, and the way I express myself on screen. So I shall add inputs to my character. The team is great, the creative director, the director, and everyone are helping me out to make the character interesting, and we are very positive that it shall create a lot of buzz amongst the audience.”

Prior to his new role, Dheeraj enjoyed quality time with his son. He shares, “I got a very good time to spend with him. Everyone used to tell me when my son was born, I was doing two shows ‘Jhalak’ and ‘Sherdil Shergill’ to be with him. Then my mom told me that when he is 6 months old, he will start understanding things around. So at that time, I got a good break before I started shooting for my web show ‘Tatlubaaz.’ So I spent a lot of time with him.”

Balancing work and family, Dheeraj makes sure to maximize his time with loved ones when he’s at home and dedicates himself fully when at work. His commitment to both aspects of his life is evident in his determination to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
