Devon Ke Dev Mahadev actress Sonarika Bhadoria gets engaged with producer Vikas Parashar in Goa
Devon Ke Dev Mahadev fame Sonarika Bhadoria recently got engaged to her boyfriend businessman-turned-producer Vikas Parashar, in a lavish ceremony in Goa. The actress talked about it during a recent interview with BT and shared, “It was my birthday the day Vikas and I officially got rokafied and also engaged in Goa,”
She added, “The whole event was planned by both of us, majorly by me though. The whole feeling of arranging everything on our special day was really good, though hectic. Both Vikas and I were coordinating everything. The whole roka cum engagement thing happened because of my mom as she wanted us to be officially engaged in a proper ceremony. Vikas had already proposed to me in the Maldives with a ring but my mom was like it is the first wedding of the family and since I am her only daughter she wanted a grand party with all rituals being followed. Also, she explained to me that even though Vikas had given me a ring, I hadn’t given him the ring. So according to her, the rings were not exchanged by both of us. The roka ceremony happened and then this time I also gave a ring to Vikas. As far as choosing my birthday for the ceremony is concerned, it all happened by chance. I wasn’t even aware of this development, initially. Our pandit ji chose the date and coincidently it fell on my birthday.”
When asked why she chose Goa as the destination for her engagement, she replied, “Because our first outing as a couple was in Goa and that too at the same hotel where we got engaged. So this place holds a special place in our hearts. Also, even though roka is a very small affair generally, but as the number of people was so many that we couldn’t accommodate them in my house, so we chose a destination for that.”
Talking about their plans for marriage, Sonarika said, “We both are focusing on our careers. Vikas has recently started his own production house so we are currently taking narrations, finalizing scripts, and taking that ahead. He wants me to focus on my career because he thinks that this is a high point for me in my career. He is so understanding and it’s been eight long years since we’ve been together. Especially after the proposal, things have taken a U-turn and I feel we both are new people. Now the insecurities have faded away and on the contrary, we both provide each other with the freedom to be happy in our own spaces. After the proposal, we both now have security in our lives and know that we belong together and it’s us against the world.”
When asked about her wedding dreams, she said, “Since I have married so many times on-screen, now it makes both of us want a really intimate wedding but not like the one Alia-Ranbir had. Actually, we both come from really different backgrounds. While I have grown up in Mumbai all my life, he belongs to Faridabad with a big fat North-Indian family due to which our guest list is quite wider than theirs. However, marriage is not on our cards or minds for the next two years.”
